Add me to team no sleeping in socks. They make me super hot! and I end up somehow taking them off during the night.

I just had an ob appointment. It was a bit concerning because they couldn't find a heartbeat. I've never had that happen, especially at 15.5 weeks. They ended up doing an ultrasound and thankfully all is well. That is one of my nightmares right now.

I like sleeping in socks! So cozy. I put C in fleece footie pjs during the colder months since he doesn’t sleep well w a blanket. B has slept fine with a comforter for over a year now, so no problems there. She keeps nice and toasty.

I’m glad everything was ok @wine! My OB had a hard time finding C in the early appts too and that was scary! I remember one time she actually found my hb instead from vein/artery(?) that was nearby in my pelvic area.

Happy First day back vino@ Glad baby is doing well wineallthetime! I used to always sleep with socks. If I wasn't wearing them before bed, I would put them on to sleep. Now I can't stand it!

So glad all is well, wineallthetime. That happened to me with Colin around 14 weeks, so freaking scary.

nam2013, C is also all over the bed. I make him wear socks. When he stopped the wearable blanket I told him he either has to wear the socks or the blanket. And for a while I would watch on the monitor and go back in and put them on him if he took them off or tell him he needed to wear the blanket. He stuck with the socks and now has no problem wearing them. He wears fleece pj pants, a long sleeve shirt, and socks. Most mornings he is completely uncovered. I have the heat in the house a little higher because of this and we use a fan in our room to compensate so we aren't hot. It's a lot of compromise but I don't want him waking early because he is cold.

That is one of my nightmares right now. It's so scary. I can't imagine being one of you ladies on the board who's scare turned out to be not just a scare. It happened to me several times with M, only 1 time with H, and obviously the other couple times weren’t good outcomes. I just wish they’d do the ultrasounds for the first half of the pregnancy until it’s super easy to find the heartbeat with the Doppler. You probably had a mild heart attack while they were getting the ultrasound machine in the room.

We went out for SIL's 15th birthday last night. She got to pick the restaurant, Red Lobster *gag* I didn't like it before I went vegetarian and now, it's even worse. I had 4 biscuits, a salad and 2 bites of the grossest alfredo ever. Before we ordered I was waiting on the server so I could ask what a good option was and GMIL asked what I was getting and I explained that I had to ask her since I don't eat meat. She very seriously said "but seafood isn't meat"I just blank stared at her waiting for the joke. She was serious. So I clarified "I don't eat animals" Again she tells me "seafood isn't animals" Wut. THEY HAVE EYES! So I said "I don't eat the flesh of anything that breathes" I got the boys mac and cheese and oranges. She asked where their meat was and I said they don't like it much so I didn't get them any. So she spent the entire meal trying to force the boys to eat shrimp. Much to her dismay, they refused. One of my vegan friends recently got into an argument with a family member about chickens and whether or not they were animals. Have these people ever seen a fish or a chicken? Said family member insisted that chickens aren't alive because they don't bleed. This was an adult...

Then it took her a minute or two to find the baby because he/she was in a weird spot. It felt like forever.

I haven’t even been gone 24 hrs and I already miss the kids.
I’m currently drinking coffee alone, while catching up in here and then I’ll probably finish my book.

wineallthetime, that's terrifying. I'm so glad everything was ok With S, it happened all the time. They had 2 dopplers and one just didn't work as well. Every time they brought that one in, I told them it was going to be a problem, and every time, they had to wait for the other time. The first time it was terrifying and after that, I just sort of expected it. With B, I changed OBs (insurance), and this OB did an ultrasound at every single appointment. They said it was the same to them as using the doppler, so why not. So I got to see him at every appointment which was pretty cool.

jewels, an ultrasound every appointment would be awesome! I'm guessing my office doesn't do that because they have a doppler in every room but only a couple ultrasound machines to share.

Chickens do bleed.. Like is this not known? Apparently this is news to some people. Like they make chicken "sunglasses" because they are attracted to pecking red things so they put them on them to make red look blue. So when the chickens are molting so they don't peck each other to death.
