Right? Except I don’t even think I’ll have mesh underwear yet- I’ll have a freaking catheter in. Why do people think you want to see them, let alone meet them, shortly after having a baby? Even now, almost 1 week later, o don't want to see people I barely know (or new ones). Don't they understand how private birth / medical procedures are? mrspiatt arrange it so they show up during an incision check or lactation consult. That’ll make your dad run for the hills. (At least it would send my dad sprinting to the parking lot)

Can I just say that I fucking hate baking? Pinterest fails are basically my MO. I cannot for the life of anything make baking look nice. It tastes fine and I'm a really good cook. But finesse? I do not have. Poor kids, store bought cakes are now happening for life.

Cool, I'll estimate. NOT WHEN BAKING, YOU WON'T. Way too science-y for me.

When the nurse asks you if you want to pee before an NST, tell her yes. Always. Even if you just went. Especially if you are having contractions. GDI.

Like if I were to post a pic of DD"s cake for tomorrow most be would like wtf. I don't care at this point. It tastes good, but not so much with the looks.

Remember a few months ago when we had a long winded conversation about funfetti cake? I tried to make funfetti cupcakes and basically ruined them. It was box mix with four ingredients and I failed. Like I just cannot do it.

snuff9861 I love baking, but decorating is the iffy part. We have resorted to if it is a homemade cake, there are real toys on top, because that then becomes the focus.

I like baking and decorating, I always keep the decorations VERY simple though. I think the trend towards overly pretty expensive cakes for kids birthdays is kind of silly. I'd much rather tasty and ugly than pretty and bland!
I made two dozen muffins for the freezer today. I've never really frozen baked goods (just eat them ASAP), so I hope the end up ok when I want them! I think I'm done the freezer cooking now, things are getting full!
Between the baking, laundry and getting a haircut though, I feel done. DH went out with a friend, so I made a grilled cheese and had some red pepper slices and apple sauce, and I'm in my PJs. Feeling a bit crampy, or maybe it's round ligament pain again? Not sure. But either way, relaxing and going to bed early. Sorry I didn't respond to everyone today!

I overdid it again. There's just so much to do and once I get started, I hate stopping. Plus my kids really like helping me clean so It's like the only thing that keeps them not fighting.
I've been trying to lay down since 4 but my kids keep needing me. Finally they are sleeping. I'm laying on my Side and hoping whatever this pain is will go away.

I love baking. Decorating I'm getting better at. But for the life of me, I can't get (or maybe just find!) a good chocolate chip cookie recipe to turn out. Or It turns out one time but not the next. That's driving me crazy lately.

That's driving me crazy lately. What part doesn't work? If it's that they get too hard, lower the temp and cook for longer. That's the only way I can ever successfully make chocolate chip cookies.

This is my absolute favorite cookie recipe. I make chocolate hip, tripped chocolate, peanut butter & chocolate, white chocolate & macadamia nut, turtle, Heath, or a mystery flavor (I pour my partial bags into a mason jar and use from there). I make a big batch of base and then divide it, add chips or nuts and freeze into small dough balls on freezer paper, then transfer to freezer bags. They take 8 min to bake, so they are perfect to have on hand. Plus it is one bowl, which is amazing in my book. www.copymethat.com/r/ErEgxVW/best-ever-chewy-chocolate-chip-cookies/

Box cakes are awesome. I like making homemade cookies and honestly don't get crazy with decorating anything. This reminds me that I want to make pumpkin cookies in the next couple weeks.

The past few years I decided I adore sugar cookies (sub at least 1/2 vanilla with almond extract), however, I do not have a frosting recipe that isn’t too thin or too sweet. The struggle is real and I end up just eating them without frosting.

My aunt makes the most amazing sugar cookies for Christmas. They are so, so good. She deep freezes them and sends them to the whole family.

thatgolfb I made a homemade cake once. It was a disaster. And I hated all the extra shit I had to buy (just threw out the very old, expired cake flour last night lol).

I had been a bit worried about movement today. But apparently baby likes oreo thins! I mean, if I have to eat them to induce movement, then rules are rules.

clucky what about canned frosting? Or is that what you are talking about? I don't like tube frosting but canned (like the rainbow chip I got) is okay. Not as good as homemade, though. I've made homemade frosting, just not homemade cake.

Homemade brownies are also a pain, but delicious.

I've made homemade frosting, just not homemade cake. I don’t mind it for cakes, but I much prefer to mix it with cream cheese - it is what my mom always did. I can’t do the canned stuff for sugar cookies though. It just doesn’t seem right. I can’t quite explain it.

grumpycat I made H one when we were dating too. His favorite is spice cake. I did a 2 layer, round, frosted and all. Then I realized I had nothing to keep a cake in. So upside down gigantic mixing bowl with a lid was it. And that was the last “fancy” cake he got.
