I'm probably going to plan a trip to visit adelbert and one of the ladies from M14 who lives in Belgium (and I've already met), because I figure if brux met adelbert and lived to tell the tale, I'm safe. If you come to Ireland you can meet me! I'm actually planning on traveling to Boston next year and plan to meet Internet friends. Never in my life did I think I would meet people from the Internet 🙈 I met my BMB friend from Belgium in Ecuador. Basically, I'm good at internet safety.

I'm sure our posters in Europe could help you out too! I tried to go visit zimmerframe last year, but I got lazy and she had a baby, so maybe I'll add Ireland to my research list. Germany and Austria are fabulous for child friendly trips. I'll PM you.

adelbert is amazing! She was confident enough to meet up with me multiple times even! I mean. I don't want to brag, but she did send me a bunch of magazines in German to help me retain some of my knowledge AND a Christmas card. We're basically BFFs. Plus if I hadn't had a major surgery which prevented me from easily doing all basic tasks I totally would have creepily crashed your trip with your sister this spring!

Awesome! I'd really like to hear about the weather. Most likely time for a trip is between Memorial Day and Labor Day, plus or minus a few weeks. I actually just put a few places on my weather app so I can take notes all summer.

You'll have great weather then although it will be very hot in July/August in southern France and Italy. In southern Germany you should also have fantastic weather- München, Freiburg and all the cute towns with castles have great summers. I would probably do southern Germany, Switzerland, drive through the mountains of Austria to get to south Tyrol and then do Tuscany. You can actually drive from Southern Germany to Switzerland, Austria, and Italy all in one day. I obviously wouldn't recommend it but just so you get an idea for how close they all are together.

Is it a big deal to rent a car and drive across borders? I've only ever done public transit in europe, but a toddler definitely complicates that.

I'm actually doing it this weekend. We're flying down to München and then renting a car and driving into Austria. But taking kids on public transportation is also a breeze. Here in Germany you don't have to fold the stroller or anything there is just space to push a large stroller on both buses and subways. Same for the train of course. I just like the flexibility you get with renting a car if you plan to do a lot of sight seeing. But if you find city driving stressful I might stick to public transportation.

I love driving in Germany. Everyone follows the rules of the lanes. Slow people always get the fuck out of your way. NO SPEED LIMITS! Best.

MH built DDs birthday present today and instead of waiting until Wednesday to give it to her we just left it out because she doesnt know when her birthday is. And since a play kitchen is no fun without play food we gave her that today too. We are the worst. But she is having the best time. Same. We gave DD her birthday scooter present 2 weeks ago.
