Even 3-day weekend trips 2 hours away with the kids to go to the San Diego zoo or something are 10x more exhausting than any other weekend
Regular weekends at home with my DS and his...challenges... are tiring enough.
"vacation" is not the right word ever when there's kids involved

Ds1 fell asleep on the 10 minute car ride to the carnival. I guess we'll be hanging out in the air conditioned car until the parade.

At our 10yr anniversary our kids will be 9 and 7. I am hoping we can GTFO of town for a night away. Dreaming big here. We have nobody to watch our kids overnight now so we have 3 years to rectify that. Send 'em up here! |

We vacation with the ILs (who are great not crazy people) so they babysit and chase the kid around the beach a lot. MUST BE NICE. Yes it is ☺ It makes up for not having a babysitter any other time of the year |

As much as I'm excited for this time away from Audball, I'm already missing her. 6 days is a long time. I was getting moony about it last night and I'm moony now.
Should probably have another drink.

I'm bad though. We left DS at 5 and 18 months for Mexico, 24 months for D.C., and hired a nanny for a week in Hawaii. Now that he's older I love taking him places but damn it's exhausting traveling with him by myself. Did you use care.com, or go through the hotel? We're going to need to do this in July. The baby is easy but I'm worried the 2 year old won't be impressed. |

We are getting a hotel for 2 nights in August for our anniversary and I'm SO FUCKING EXCITED!!!!!!!! And now that H works downtown it's great, he can just walk over to the hotel where I will have already checked in. My body is ready.

Swimming went a lot better than I thought. DD started crying when we first put her in but she was swimming all by herself,with floaties of course, by the end.
Now back to our house to grill. I also got stuff to make Smores.

I've mentioned it before, but we are leaving DD for 12 days to go to Morocco and Spain. I'm looking forward to it but also anxious. So I think for our 5 year anniversary in July we are going to stay at a hotel and have my in laws stay with her since they never have and see how it goes.

Be careful what you wish for!!! Lol. They were left unattended earlier today in our playroom for 20 minutes & instead went into the laundry room and sprayed fucking FEBREEZE in each other's hair. Luckily they are fine & nothing got into anyone's eyes but I nearly shat a brick. 😬 ETA - they are 6 and turning 4 next week. My almost 5yo would keep them in line. She is a rule follower to a fault. 😉 |

We wanted to do a trip sans petits enfants for our 5th anniversary in September but it's more likely going to just be a night or two at a hotel fairly close by. I mean, hopefully at least that.
