I made some bacon wrapped peppers with the jalapeños my neighbor brought me from her garden and holy smokes they are hot. I'm really wishing I hadn't also put one in the queso. I am going to be breathing fire.

Last day in Mexico. We got another babysitter for tonight. It is $$ but we will have the same person we had last night so no stress.
I'm going to eat and drink in a fanceh Italian place with my H and when we get back to our room our kid will be asleep. #best

Got back from DH's company picnic at the zoo. My oldest ran away because I dared to put potato salad on her plate and I couldn't find her for a good 5 minutes. I was thisclose to having a full blown panic attack in front of everyone. Luckily, DH found her hiding behind the picnic pavilion. So, that was fun.

I'm bad though. We left DS at 5 and 18 months for Mexico, 24 months for D.C., and hired a nanny for a week in Hawaii.
Now that he's older I love taking him places but damn it's exhausting traveling with him by myself.

It's doing what you normally do somewhere else for more money. Which is why I'm such a proponent of a vacation nanny. Why spend so much money to not have fun? |

I am hoping that for our 10 year anniversary next year we can somehow manage a real vacation away, just the two of us and leave the kids with my ILs
New Orleans... or Hawaii... OR EVEN JUST A FRICKIN HOTEL.

I just take one of my younger sisters anytime I go on vacation. They get an all expense paid trip as long as I get to pick and choose which one of us has to be the mom and which one gets to be the carefree, hair blowing in the wind, 25-ish year old sister.

We vacation with the ILs (who are great not crazy people) so they babysit and chase the kid around the beach a lot.
