Sooo the (cheapy nonbrand) nursing pillow I got isnt working as well as I'd like. What nursing pillow do you use if any? And is just the nursing pillow enough to be comfi and position baby or do you need other pillows still to prop the baby up or anything? What nursing position do you generally use?

Question. If your baby sleeps in a swing or RNP do you worry how they will transition to crib? J sleeps in bassinet that vibrates. When he starts waking up I hit the vibrate When he goes back down. Can't do that with a crib. He will go in PNP but only for an hour or less because it doesn't vibrate

I am worried about his transition to a crib so I try to have him nap in his crib at least once a day to get familiar with it.

It's great in a chair with arms, but when I use it on the couch, it's a little low and I end up hunching or supporting him with my arm.

Late but.. king26Hudson has been in size 1 since 2 weeks old. He didn't lose too much of his birth weight and is a crazy eater. He is still in size one. We use mostly pampers which fit great. I also use Honest and those size 1 seem to be getting tight. He fits into some newborn clothing depending on cut, but does fit in 0-3 months too. He is 6 weeks. For the past 2 weeks i have been using a swaddle, but with arms out. He seems to prefer that now. I have sleep sacks but haven't tried them yet.

We did struggle with the crib at first, but we bought a crib wedge on the advice of pediatrian. He was still suffering from reflux. It helped, but he was a crappy sleeper too, so I don't think that helped.

As long as he was swaddled he did just fine in the crib. Me on the other hand, I threatened to sleep on his floor every night so I could make sure he was breathing ok, and I killed the battery on the monitor so many times because I couldn't stop staring at the screen 😂😂

I think D is going though some growth spurt.. she has been so fussy for the past two days and refuses to sleep unless held and seems to want to eat all the time too. So these past 7.5 hours i either nursed or changed her diaper or nursed or rocked her. But as soon as she is asleep andI putt her down after a while, she wakes up again and starts fussing. I gave her a bottle thinking that may make her sleepy which it did but again 5 minutes after I put her in her bassinet she was crying. So back to mama it was. Never mind mama hadnt eaten or been able to do anything..
I am starting to feel a little desperate.... I tried everything and checked all options. MH is working a late shift, I chatted with my mum briefly but she can't fix this either.. I just want to cry (and have).
These are phases that will pass right??

Also... i cant help but feel i am failing at this breastfeeding thing as i cant seem to keep her satisfied not even with extra bottles pumped milk in between nursing sessions. But i also can't pump to help with supply when she wants to be held all the friggin time either so i just cant win here. Hopefully at least i nurse often enough to signaal the boobs to make more damn milk?

I'm sorry hun, I've been feeling pretty down too because M has been constantly fussy too. I went through it with my first but this one seems even fussier. She also seems constantly cranky unless nursing or sleeping. It can be so damn hard especially when your the one doing the constant feeding and holding. I was starting to think my baby is broken lol. I won't say how long it took to stop the first go around but pray it's sooner this time. D could just be going through the 3 week growth spurt too and that will get better soon. Hugs your not alone

Also muscari, your likely not failing at all with BF, during growth spurts and fussy periods, they can act so weird, bobbing up and down on the boob, acting ravenous, not satisfied, etc. It is exhausting but normal and part of cluster feeding. Ugh hang in there. 💕

I've found that Huggies newborn fit J best but I have Pampers size 1-3 for later on. So J has gained 5 oz in 5 days so I'm feeling pretty good about the whole breastfeed, pump, supplement with formula. Today I've been able to supplement with 1 oz formula and 1/2 oz of pumped milk which has been good. He is currently 3 oz over his birth weight so YAY! We finally got there. He slept ok last night...I think it's because he's well fed now. Funny story, we went to bed at 845 because he did. He must have whined at 9:30 because I remember looking at the clock and putting his bink in his mouth. Well I heard him start to cry and I was really upset he was only down for 45 minutes. I turn to look at the clock at it's 11:10! I was so happy he made it 2 1/2 hours. Funny how quickly my tune changed. Then the same freaking thing happened this morning. He went down at 4:30 and didn't get up until 6:40 but I swore it was only 5:30. I think I'm losing it. I told my parents I'm not coming home for my cousin's 1st birthday. I feel bad but I'm having serious anxiety about driving 2 1/2 hours plus being around a ton of people prior to him having his shots. They took it ok but kept saying you'll be home in October though....well I don't know, I'll see how I feel. I WILL be home for Thanksgiving though. I think once J starts sleeping better and consistently driving that far won't be too bad but now he sleeps 1- 1 1/2 hours during the day then needs to be fed. So we'd have to pull over halfway on the way up and back, stop for an hour, breastfeed and bottle feed, and then continue on so it would take us at least 3 1/2 hours each way. Hopefully it'll improve. muscari, I use a boppy and I like it. As someone said, it sits a little low when I'm on the couch but I still really like it. I hope the baby calmed down for you as well. Sometimes they are just fussy. Hope the results come in quickly jexxa,

So D finally settled down some and slept for 2h in my arms and another 30 minutes in her bassinet. Amazing how just 30 minutes of "freedom" and time to fold some laundry and brush your teeth can make such a difference, feeling so much better now. Am nursing a content and sleepy baby now and I really hope she will sleep on some more after she's done eating. The rhythm we had the past week is shattered so I am real curious to see how this night will go. Luckily it is weekend and MH is off work so I have some help with both D as other things tomorrow.
Am seriously dreading next week as MH will be working a 12 day stretch .. I think I best ask my mum for some extra hands some days or I will go crazy if she has more of those real fussy days - which seems likely since she got her first mental leap coming up. But...one day and one night at a time!

muscari, we are life twins. M has been acting the exact same way and I was feeling the same about BFing. It's so frustrating. This morning I decided to just pump so I could see what she is getting and she got 3 oz and was still fussy and crying. So I'm satisfied she's not crying because she is starving she's just going through something. It is still so exhausting though to constantly have told hold or nurse her with no break and no help. I slept a total of 3 hrs last night and I feel like a zombie. To top it off I have a huge exam on Tuesday and haven't been able to study at all because she's been like this for the past 3 or 4 days.

cali and muscari, I'm sorry you guys are suffering but you made me feel better. I have been holding H practically since 3am. Nothing will satisfy him today. He cluster nursed from 6am to 10am and then chugged three oz of formula which really made me further doubt my supply. He's been changed, walked around, had a bath, etc. He's finally snoozing on my boob and comfort nursing. cali I can't imagine doing this and school!!! Good luck.

Add me to the club of growth spurts and off schedules. H has been fussy and eating non stop the last 2 days! He is finally down for a nap that has been more than 40 minutes! We are at the 6 week mark so hoping this growth spurt comes and goes quickly!
I wish I was coordinated enough to be one of those women who can walk around while breastfeeding baby.

My boobs hurt. Sooooo baaaaaad. From bfing? Yes. An evening of cluster feeding, then a bad latch and lazy not really eating overnight, lead to a painfully engorged morning on top of seriously sore nipples. I was non functional all morning until MH could get me more ibuprophen. I kept checking for redness as I was sure it was headed towards mastitis. Luckily I nursed it out in a different position for a good hour and was able to take a hot shower to massage out the rest. But that was seriously the worst boob pain I've had in three kids of nursing.

I just wanted to say I read. I just feel overwhelmed and stressed. I'm not sure I'm dealing well with having a newborn and a 3.5 year old. I'm sorry you're so stressed. Toddlers and newborns are not easy. Feel free to chime in whenever and let us know how we can suppprt you.

king26 both are in size 1 diapers and in 0-3 month clothing. D is wearing some 3 month clothes. They are 5 weeks. E likes to be swaddled arms out, D swaddled with arms in.

Nurses for hours and then when I finally give her formula supplement cuz my boobs can't take anymore she chugs the formula like she's starving. But when I pump I usually get at least 2 oz and they say baby gets more than the pump so I don't get it!

I'm sure if someone saw my routine they would think I'm a crazy person. Trying to get the twins on the same schedule involves hands free pumping 24/7 with the hospital grade pump, while feeding both of them simultaneously propped up on the twins pillow. And frantically yelling at a toddler scaling all the furniture.
