I'm doing surprisingly well, thank you!
They ended up knocki ng me out with propofol and....something else, during the surgery. They got us in there so quickly that my epi hasn't taken full effect yet so man, did that hurt at first.

So yesterday am, we took DS to a tractor pull showdown in podunkville which is like 5 mins down the road. It was interesting, DS of course loved it. We had to finger plug his ears cos it was incredibly loud. He got to sit on some custom built souped up lawn tractors 🤣🤣. I stood out like a sore thumb too lol! 😅 Didn't help being super pregnant too besides not a redneck. Haha! Next yr, we'll have to get him some ear muffs! This am, DS and I made a Dutch baby for breakfast and he gobbled it up in record time. I'm going to miss this time with him when bubs comes, at least for a while. Hubs is scrambling to get some dry walling stuff done in the office and another coat of paint down. Hopefully our carpenter can make it in this week to mud a section and get the base in for the cabinets so i can arrange for flooring estimates and get that scheduled and lined up in the coming month or so. I also got my hospital bag list done! So will be packing it today.

thechickencoop congratulations! He looks wonderful! Sounds like the delivery got a little dramatic. I'm sure that was stressful but all that matters is you are both safe! How awesome that he's just breathing on his own. That second steroid shot must have made a big difference. I'm partial to his first name, it's DS1s. It's such a great name!

thechickencoop, congratulations! Baby looks amazing - such a great weight for being as early as he was. They were almost a lb off their estimation, right? Hope you are doing well and have a smooth recovery.

Yaaaay thechickencoop, what a fantastic update! Welcome to the world, baby! I'm sorry that you ended up with an emergency c/s -- only because that sounds scary -- but glad to read that everyone seems to be doing well. Best wishes for an easy recovery for all!

Just my opinion, but I think everyone's labor should get their own thread if you are someone that is comfortable with that! This is going to start happening with more frequency and we dont want to miss anything! I like the stickied birth story thread too that people can post to once they are ready to type that out.
Not like my thoughts are that important, I just want to celebrate all these babies!

On a completely different note, I just threw up my entire breakfast thanks to H's stupid lunch (chicken wings, gag). Apparently even a cold only goes so far to neutralize my pregnancy super-senses. He is going on about how he thinks it "doesn't even have a smell" and I'm just over here like because who cares, I'm clearly not being hyperbolic here. Currently hiding out in the office until he's done eating and cleaning up. Also I can hear DD fighting her nap upstairs, I really hope she settles down because nobody here is equipped to deal with a no-nap day right now.

I love that the board has picked up more lately, but it's not like there is SO MUCH going on that we can't handle individual threads

Alright to update what my friend was doing, it is not super serious dangerous stuff more like not developmentally appropriate. So she had a public health nurse come by since her son was born at 32 or 33 weeks to check in. Here we get extra health care services if you fall into certain situations, she qualifies for some extra physio/occupational therapy for the baby if needed and the nurse was at her house to do an assessment of the baby. He is now 3.5 months but I guess he would be considered 2-2.5 months developmentally. She already has him in the jolly jumper and in a bumbo seat (for feedings) and he does not have good head control yet. The nurse told her they weren't recommended and she got super defensive. She also has been doing the rice cereal in the bottle thing which I wouldn't do but I was surprised she was doing it so early.
So judge away at my judgment... I truly realize these aren't life or death things but I was really shocked that she hadn't really looked into these things with the books and internet resources available.

August Blooms I will judge along with you. We didn't even start rice cereal until 6 months because DD was 6 weeks early. Our pediatrician didn't want us to start before that, and certainly not in the bottles.

thechickencoop, Congrats!!! August Blooms, I'm judging right along, too. No reason for any of that to be happening. We didn't even do rice cereal with DD, started with oatmeal. And not in her bottle. Crazy she is starting that at 3.5 months! As for me, I am having a 'I feel as huge as a whale' day. Super bloated and having trouble moving around. Taking a shower completely wiped me out and I took a nap afterward. My husband was like '...really?' Yes really!

Oh my goodness we did it - we actually finished painting the nursery. Now we can go to IKEA next weekend and get furniture! It will really feel like go-time once we've got that room furnished. Already excited for next weekend and this one isn't even over yet, so I know that means the work week is going to dragggg. I'm just so pumped to actually be able to make progress in the room because once there is furniture in there I can start organizing, decorating, washing clothes... all the little things.

Yeah I'm judging with you August Blooms. I also skipped rice cereal and went right to pureed food at 6 or 7 months. 3.5 months just sounds so early. And why is she in a bumbo without head control??

Not much today. We all slept in this morning and went to the grocery store. Then we all had long naps while football was on in the background.
We went on a brief walk and my legs are killing me. After bringing in some lighter stuff outside that may blow around in the high winds, I made a fauxjito. I'm so excited for the real thing in officially less than month!!! (Assuming my Dr doesn't let me go past my due date) (he better not 😠)
