klong11 poor girl. I hope the time goes quickly. Is she upset or just kind of matter of fact about it? No, she's upset. And yesterday they took the 2 kids she will play with and put them in the pre-k class due to ratios. Her teacher says Cadence is getting really jealous if she pays attention to any of the new kids and that she has started bossing them around and telling them she isn't their friend. It really hasn't been a good transition for her. Ugh so hard. Our school transitions a few kids at a time and they say it can be brutal on friendship and behavior, often for the kids left behind. J was super out of control yesterday and his teacher suspect it's because only he and another friend are left and they are both "uppers" and the calming kids weren't there. They said it's harder for the girls at this age especially 😔. Hope things get better soon for C.

I really think he'd be fine starting whenever. To me the socialization aspect is the most important piece of preschool, vs the academics. Bradley had kids start 'late' both years he's been enrolled. peachsmama I agree with this. The kids are definitely more adaptable than we give them credit for sometime. They have very little concept of time so starting in Jan instead of September really means nothing to them. Eta: way late, i see all of this has been covered I don't think he would know any different about when he started. But right now he does.not.want.to.go. It's almost comical how very against the idea he is. He tells us "not everyone can be a big boy, I'm not going to be a big boy!" He'll name off every kid at the sitters that goes to school and end with "but not me, because I'm not a big boy!"

But he has zero idea what 'it' will be like because he has never gone. So, for me anyways, it's a way to keep things the same because that's where his comfort level is.

The electrician who was doing our basement is ghosting us. He did the wiring and roughed in the outlets. He was supposed to come back so we could determine how many lights to buy and he would set those up and finish the job. It's been two weeks and he's not responding to me. He is a friend of my cousins but she is a week overdue with her first baby so I don't want to bother her with this. So annoying.

Also, just thinking about him pting peachsmama, have you been associating preschool with potty training? If he is hell bent on not going to preschool maybe that's holding him back from wanting to be potty trained? IDK, just came to me.

klong11 that makes me so sad for her. I wish they'd move her with her friends. Her teacher has been talking to the person in charge and myself in an effort to do just that. My main concern is that they move her because she is ready, not just for numbers or friendships.

Hopefully the baby comes and he gets to your house soon!

Blamed getting a new phone for his lack of response. People are so annoying but I am happy he called and is going to finish the job. Now lets see if the carpet people show on Saturday...

C got his first invite to a bday party from someone in preschool. He is so excited. This morning he woke up saying "I need to see R. I need to see the Birthday Boy!" The party isn't until 9/16 but he is psyched.

If he is hell bent on not going to preschool maybe that's holding him back from wanting to be potty trained? IDK, just came to me. Yes. And at the advice of the pediatrician we are "not caring" about it anymore. No one says the words potty train, no pull ups, no underwear, no mentioning it at every diaper change. He thinks it's a control thing. Give up the control and Matthew will give in and do it. He'll still be exposed to it because he follows me into the bathroom and sees the kids at the sitters and she explains it for everyone's benefit, not just him. But He said to back completely off and see what happens. DH is struggling with this.

Hi there! I am looking at all the options for B's ballet for the upcoming season. I am looking at a different program to what we did last year. And I am a little over all the costs, but I know she loves it. So bye bye money. MH seems to think its worth it. What's the new program and how much does it cost? Last year we did it through the parks & rec. It was pretty disorganized. This year I am putting her in a program w a dance studio where she just finished up a summer camp. All in, I'm around 600.

Is one waking the other cagoldi? If it's A waking up X maybe try the melatonin to see if it helps. I'm not sure if one is waking up the other, but Dude did say he gets up first. I guess I could try the melatonin and see what happens. Probably can't hurt, right?

Yes to cagoldi and tgrimes, that is for the "academic" year, Sept - May, one class per week.

Yes to cagoldi and tgrimes , that is for the "academic" year, Sept - May, one class per week. That's not too bad. The program through our school is around $450 a year, but then you have to add in recital costs and leotards and endless supplies of the g.d. tights! I hate dance tights. I wish she didn't have to wear them because she destroys them so quickly. Luckily, our class doesn't require certain colors so I just buy the 3/$5 packs of Cat & Jack ones from Target.

How awful for that family and your work place. yummeecookeeSorry peachsmama. I agree with the others, start him as soon as he is trained. Sorry about Cadence klong11. I can't remember, but did she start preschool early? If so, your DC is wrong for letting her start early then, but holding her back now. Why would they do that? They are jerks. M is having transition issues, too, but that's my fault. I think he misses his friends and I made the decision to move him. So I feel like the jerk. I hope by the end of this school year, things change for the better and I feel different. 😕

lahdeedah, it was my decision to move her early into the preschool class last October because while in the pre-preschool class we were having issues with the teacher, who actually got fired maybe a week later. So she has been in the preschool class a bit longer, but we will have that each year since her birthday is late in the year. She will move up in January for sure, but we are all currently in discussion on whether it should be sooner than that.

Terrible Tuesday, indeed. On the way to drop off M, who was not happy about going to school, my car starts doing this mild jerking every so often when I accelerate. I called MH and he met me at the dealership so I could drop it off. I hope it's an inexpensive fix, but something tells me not.
Add that to my water damaged phone and I'm just waiting on the third ball to drop. Bad things happen in threes, right? 😒

wedding Sinny has been having frequent reverse sneezing episodes the last week or so. I'm going to have to take him in for another BP check soon so I'll check with the vet but any idea why this would happen all of a sudden? Our chihuahua did this after she had a collapsed trachea.

Charlie's morning nap lasted about 45 minutes, so on a whim, at 1:30, I put him down to see if he'd fall sleep again and he did! I'm enjoying a little afternoon sunshine with my girl while the quiet lasts.
