Hi girls! I'm ok. Just tired. I need to call the cardiologist and see when I can get in. Thanks for thinking of me.

Hi!
So we are having tons of family in this weekend, and I am not at all prepared. But I'm super excited, my SIL is coming with the twins (7 months old) so it will be chaos in our house, but good chaos.
I think I mentioned this yesterday, but we have done 0 for the party. Like literally nothing. I'm toying with taking tomorrow off to do some shopping, party prep, and get my nails done. Fortunately the party is mostly BBQ so a lot of the cooking is MH, but I have to at least make the sides, oh, and clean up and make room for the guests. I have Friday off but his family is coming in early and his family are not ones who watch children. B doesn't go to school on Fridays so I would have him with me.
It would be nice to get things done child free.

Morning, all! I got a pop-up notification that tgrimes started a Tuesday thread, so I posted on it. Wrong bmb. Oops. Tapatalk is weird. I'm supposed to be teaching a class this fall for my employer, but it's not listed anywhere, and I suspect it's been cancelled. My boss hasn't gotten back to me which has me thinking he's been laid off. So I'm going to drop in this morning and try to sort out what's going on. But yes, that should tell you everything you need to know about how volatile working conditions are at the moment. Enrollment was already horrible, and last I heard, it's half of what it was last year. WHAT is up with academia right now? My place of employment is also very strained right now. Except the enrollement aspect. Enrollment is up but we don't have enough classes to put students in.. so they are paying private college prices and taking courses they don't really need.

Good morning. I am nursing a fight hangover and just sad today. DH and I talked it through, but there are still hard feelings. He knows I am miserable at my current job, so he actually asked me if I wanted to just quit and work on making my small business a full time venture. I almost fell out of my chair. I just want to be happy.

I just went by the new house. Our tile is about halfway done, the carpet is scheduled to go in on Monday and I have cleaners scheduled for next Thursday. I think we may actually move into this house at some point!

Like, yeah, I am getting weddings and events now, but what if that stops? I suppose I could apply to jobs again, but going full time with this was a "ramp-up-to" plan.. not a "be in business for less than 6 months and just quit day time job" plan. Basically I feel stuck.

jewels Sounds like a lot to try and get done with kids around, I'd take tomorrow off and be ahead of the game kamakaziartist glad you guys had a good talk and hopefully you guys can find a good compromise somyou can be happy. What about putting an end date at your job be there just for the paycheque and try and have a goal to quit say, end of the year?

It's scary. And take my advice with a grain of salt, because I obviously know nothing about Starting my own business, but i think if business is taking off and you have dh's support maybe know is the perfect time to take that risk! I have faith in you and think you could kick butt!!

Hi all!
Not much happening here, just hanging out until J's nap and then grocery shopping. Boring.
I've got to also write a testimonial/reference for the decking company I used and my initial efforts sound like a love letter, so I've got to revisit it 😐.

guster I know you said C isn't a sweets fan, but what about chocolate milk? Any interest in that? kamakaziartist I'm sorry you are feeling stuck. Maybe investing your working hours into your business full-time *is* the way to go, if you think the financials could work. It's so miserable being in a job you hate, it tends to color all other aspects of your life, as well. Hugs.

Morning! B and my dad are put buying some firewood, my mom's at an appt, and C is napping so I have some downtime B has had a great time up here; he and my dad have been doing all sorts of things together--errands, mini golf, going out in the boat, getting lunch. My dad calls it 'boy dog' time; they're just the cutest. My parents leave tmrw for a wedding this weekend; they've owned this house for 15+ years and I don't think I've ever been here solo overnight, lol. I'll miss the extra hands! I'm brainstorming some things to do to keep B, in particular, busy until they get back on Sun.

You would be DYNAMITE working for yourself full time. I LOVE what you're doing!

Hey peachsmama What are the classes for? I must have missed the original conversation. Does it have anything to do with the company buy out? Life insurance and annuity sales license. No, this was planned and paid for months ago.

They won't hire adjuncts where we need them most.. but we are moving A LOT of money towards our *cough* D3 *cough* sports. Thank you for that. The unknown terrifies me.

Cher yikes, scary. My SM had a SCAD last year which is actually most common for post partum and is pretty scary. Hope your cardiologist gets some answers for you. ETA: hoping that's not it, but something to be on the lookout for. Sorry I'm not making sense this morning..

FFWC - I originally had H's 9 mo appt scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. He'll still be on antibiotics though so the pedi told me to reschedule so we can combine his 9 mo appt & check to make sure his EI is gone at the same time.
I'm still leaving work early tomorrow though. We leave for vacation early Sat morning and Fri night we're having dinner with friends so I'm going to pack tomorrow.
Why does packing stress me out?

I always thought if they get enough of those then they're good🤷♀️ ETA: or do those bother his stomach as well? He does get cheese and yogurt and luckily, it doesn't bother his stomach. Its not a calcium issue. I was actually hoping just to get more in between meal liquid calories in. Stuff that's super easy while we're on the go – smoothies, even just straight milk (plant or other). Sometimes when we're out he'll eat a cheecheese stick or a banana and a handful of Cheerios, but that's not really enough to be considered lunch, but he's so focused on running around and exploring that he doesn't get the calories in. I think that is affecting his sleep, too.

I'm on a mission to get Charlie to drink some kind of milk-- all plant or mixed with cows. I am convinced it's part of the reason he doesn't sleep as well he could. He only drinks water during the day, and eats well at most meals, but on the days he's fussier at the table, his sleep isn't great. I think some kind of milk would help supplement those calories and it'd be nice to have some kind of calories on the go when we're out. We still gave Dude a sippy of milk during our bedtime routine until he was almost 2. On that note, I feel totally lost as to how to transition X off of bottles. He's a good eater but I can't really remember how we went about this with Dude.

guster What about ovaltine? You could start with a lot and slowly cut back on the amount you add. That's how my sister got her kids to drink out of a sippy cup. Although, it didn't work for M. I'm willing to give anything a try. Right now, Charlie is not a big fan of anything sweet (I know, crazy, right?). Thank you for the suggestion! X likes green smoothies with pea milk. The only sugar in it is from a banana. Maybe he'd go for that?

Charlie is drinking from the munchkin 360 exclusively during waking hours, but we're actually still on formula bottles for him at naptime and bedtime, but I made the transition, as you all suggested to put fewer and fewer ounces in the bottle. We went from 10 to 5 for bedtime and 4 for naps. I'd like to finished with the bottle by the time he's 18 months. That's a big difference from Josie who was right after a year. With her I just stopped cold turkey, but she is drinking milk non stop from a sippy.

But I am willing to keep trying everything because I know tastes can change. Also, I have never had peas' milk. I'm going to look for it.
