Yesterday felt like such a long day. Hoping today is quicker. I actually put on makeup for the first time in forever, so I'm willing it to be a good day.

So sleepy. DH didn't get home until late and DD2 was up a few times last night. Heading to the splashpad for that going away party; I'm bracing myself for an emotional DS today.

C hasn't been sleeping thru the night for a long time now. H started giving him milk again a long time ago because he usually takes it and rolls over. But not when i do it, he wants me to rock him and then everytime i put him down he cries. This goes on multiple times a night. Last night he started holding my hand when i put him in the crib and if i let go he'd whine mommy in the most pathetic yet adorable can't leave the room way. On my 5th visit to his room at 1:45 am he wouldn't let me leave. I was in there for an hour until i said fuck this and kissed him and left. And let him CIO.

Looks like we are starting CIO all over again for middle of the night and stopping milk. Color me depressed and not looking forward to it.

P woke up 5 minutes before my alarm to get up and run went off. My arms and back are sore from doing the erg, so I got up with her and let MH sleep longer. He's going to pick her up from daycare so I can run right after work.

RunsforWineandCarbs I am going to commiserate with you. K has been waking up in the MOTN for a while now and we have just been bringing her to our bed because sleep. However, I need to get her to start falling back asleep on her own. I'm sooo looking forward to it.

Also, when I was in the shower, my aunt phoned me. I listened to the voicemail and it makes me so sad. She said she's being held captive at a high altitude place by her sons and no one will come rescue her. She has Alzheimer's (she's in her 60's but early onset runs in my family), and a couple of years ago she was no longer able to live on her own, so my cousins sold her home and moved her to an assisted living facility in another state, in the city where they both live. But everyone in our family now gets calls from her about how she's been kidnapped. My cousin (her son) is getting married next year, and I hope she's "there" enough to enjoy it.

Morning ladies! I don't have much more to offer so far today. I need to rearrange car seats in my vehicle at lunch time today to pick up the neighbor kid as well and bring him home.

So DH has been finishing our attic to turn it into his music room and the music room would be converted to a play room. This has been going on for like 9 months. I'm so over this project. We are almost done- all his stuff is now in the attic. We are trying to organize toys and a couch needs to be removed. The end is in sight but holy hell it's been going on forever.

RunsforWineandCarbs, sorry about your night. I feel ya. I feel like we're not sure what to do at this point with MOTN so we're just suffering through it. Add us to the exhausted parents list. coconutbacon, sorry about your aunt. My grandmother also had early onset Alzheimer's and it is tough. I think being in a facility is the safest option though. Not sure what we'll do today. It's overcast but I don't think it is supposed to rain again. There was another confirmed tornado touch down in our "area" yesterday, this was about 45 min from here though. The rest of the week looks a little better weather wise.

I got my first quote for window coverings and So expensive! It was almost double what I was thinking we would spend. Wahhhh! What are you looking at, like what brands? Hunter Douglas, Graber, Springs? Cornices, fabric, shutters, wood slats, vinyl? (in a past life i was a project manager at window coverings place). You might be looking at the most expensive brands. Find a look you like, ask for off name brands that have good warranties and reviews. Check home depot or lowes, wait for sales, and then just hire an installer. Interior designers are a tad bit more expensive.

Interior designers are a tad bit more expensive. I had Graber pull down roller shades quoted. Nothing crazy like remote controls or super patterned fabrics. I looked at privacy for bedrooms, and light filtering for the living room. I have another company coming out to quote Friday. I'm hoping it's like....$800 less, but unlikely I'm sure.

Vacuuming done. My mom takes the kids today for a few days. I am so glad I packed their bags and put them car last night. I can spend the next 60 min relaxing before I need to take Isaac to the dr, pharmacy then meet my mom 1.5 hrs away. Then I need to come home, do my workout, get some stuff ready for a moms club board meeting. Tomorrow cats have a check up, pest guy comes and I need to make a dreaded call to the insurance company. I really hope I can get some relaxation while my parents have them.

mamallama, it could be the fabric option you've picked. Try verticals for the living room with a valance or cornice board - that could save you some cost there. Ask them to price out a black out liner with a less expensive fabric for the shade - it might change in your favor for the bedroom. Also, if looking for wood slats, go the faux route, looks the same but good price difference.
