Have you ever missed a birth control pill and had to take two in the same day? I did that yesterday and it wiped me out. I was so sick in the middle of the night - nauseous andnpuking. I ended up having to sleep in and come in to work late today.

coconutbacon I totally get it. DH's grandpa has schizophrenia and he is always sending us letters telling us not to come visit because his place is bugged and the mafia is after him. It always makes me sad that he never really feels safe even though he is in a safe place. He's lonely but whenever we visit he's always trying to rush us out because it's "not safe."

avocadotoast, I've definitely done that before but I didn't notice the effect. My friend stopped taking them because she felt like that after every pill though so I think it probably affects some people more than others.

Good day for us so far. Still had a crappy night but I think E was only up (with DH) once.
We went for a walk down the street to use a neighbor's swing in the cul-de-sac and ended up stopping in for a coffee with another neighbor. Then we came back home and had an impromptu play date with a friend and her 18 month old son. I put E in the car around 12:30 to fall asleep for his nap. Hey, it's working and I get a little time to myself in the day, which I need! Now he is asleep in our bed and I just made the chicken carnitas in the IP. Well, I still have to do the broiling step but they are way easier than the pork for me at this point. I think just cutting up the pork meat took forever at the beginning and really added to my overall time cooking.

mamallama sorry the quote for the window coverings was more than you expected. FX the second place comes in better. I can't even begin to think about window coverings (definitely one thing I'm terrible at in terms of decorating). We have our first meeting with the builder on Thursday, where we will be picking windows, front door, interior doors and hardware, and I think getting builder samples for brick and siding! I'm so exciting, but also nervous about making all the choices Good thing I've had 8 months to obsess over it all! lol

Started the whole 30 today and am feeling positive that we will do well this time (the last attempt only made it about 1.5 week!). DH went back to work today and I'm still off for another week. M is sleeping now, and I'm catching up before doing some touch up painting. Exciting life I lead!

redandblue, Yeah, I've got 2 more quotes happening this week. I mean, I knew it would be expensive, but blah. We'll probably bite the bullet and spend the money, but it's a hard pill to swallow. We still need to get the yard/UG sprinkling quoted out too. Since we're nearing fall, I'm ok if we only do grass and irrigation. We can always add plants and trees next year. I just don't want to live with a mud pit. I know we need to spend all this money, but man it hurts. Sticker shock for sure! It's funny you're picking all that stuff out now. I JUST decided on door hardware, like today, and we're about a month from being complete. LOL. I agonized FOREVER on siding, too. I just could not make up my mind. I love what we ended up with though. I've gotten a lot of compliments already.

so.. you guys remember DH's coworker whose girlfriend was "diagnosed with breast cancer" at an annual gyno appt? like, went to the appt, they "diagnosed" her with no biopsy or further examination and then she "started chemo" 2 days later & coworker missed a week of work to "take her to treatment." then she moved back to NYC bc "her treatment is cheaper there." also the same coworker who claimed that he and the same girlfriend filed a lawsuit against medicaid and were offered a settlement of "$4.5 million" within a week of filing the lawsuit. he also missed a week and a half of work then to "go to new york and get his money" (from texas medicaid??) - he actually never left his couch, told his boss that Wednesday that his NY trip was cancelled... but still didn't go back to work.
ANYWAY, the damn girlfriend is BACK. they got back together and she is flying in today. so SURPRISE! coworker took off the day to go pick her up. work was finally going well for DH since coworker was actually showing up and WORKING instead of playing on his phone or taking off weeks for bullshit. but now she is back and DH is pulling his second 15-hour shift this week. coworker's productivity has dropped in half since they got back together last week as he is literally texting her every second - including while he was driving himself & DH to lunch on Friday. I'm so annoyed in anticipating what the newest elaborate bulllshit excuse will be for him to take off days at a time while DH has to cover his lack of work.

skinandbones did you and YH end up deciding not to move to his parents house then? Moving to their house is a no go. We crunched some numbers and at the end of 5 years it's almost a wash in terms of money. Sure we save cash immediately but assuming our house increases 3% every year it works to be fairly similar. I think the difference ended up being $8000 in favor of moving. But once you figure moving costs, whatever improvements we would need to make, and added stress, it doesn't make much sense. Plus DH isn't convinced we will want to move in 5 years. So why move to put ourselves in a position where we are forced to move? By staying in our current house, we don't have to do anything.

Got the kids dropped off, relaxed a bit, worked out, did some moms club planning. Now I'm laying down with no one bugging or touching me

Ya'll I am about to lose my mind on DS and neighbor kid. They keep bringing toys from one room to another and when I ask them to take those toys back into the other room (to keep from K getting hit or something broken) they pick another toy and migrate back. Just stay is one room to play!!!!
