Obviously I’m cheering for my Phillies. They looked iffy for the second half of the season so I’m not going to be surprised if they get taken out by a “hot” team early on.
In the AL, I’m rooting for the Orioles. I went to a game a few weeks ago and loved their stadium and their vibe. I also wouldn’t mind seeing Detroit do well.

Go Stros!!
But yeah Skubal showed why he will win the Cy Young today. Not looking great for us.
Honestly this year just enjoying the ride. 8 years in a row of October baseball is pretty special. Whatever happens happens.

In the NL I feel like it’s the Padres year. Not sure about the AL. Weaker of the two leagues this year. Yankees or Tigers maybe? Would prefer Tigers over Yankees.

I’m pleasantly surprised to be watching both ATL and DET. Not sure how long that will last but I’m happy for now 😁

My children are less than enthused that I'm subjecting them to the game instead of whatever youtube bs they want to put on the tv.

Padres fan checking in! I became a fan during the last playoff run in 2022 so it’s been a wild two years. Not sure who I’d want them to face from the AL (maybe the Royals?) but also not confident about making it past the Mets or Phillies. Just happy to be along for the ride. Game 1 was a fun one!

As a Cubs fan I am just crying in the corner.
As a baseball fan I think the run the Tigers are making could be fun to watch as well as the Royals (it might be fun to see Will Smith make it to 4 world series in a row with different teams). Mostly I will just watch for the love of playoff baseball.

I think since the vibe of the team is young and fun but we allow it since they are an AL team

It’s kind of hilarious really.

I’m die-hard Cubs (sad trombone) but pledging my allegiance to my longshot, backup/AL team in the wild card race, the Tigers.

This is one of my favorite teams. It definitely rivals the 2016/2017 Cleveland teams. I'm glad we got a first round buy.

Same. That game yesterday was absurd!! Just no Subway series part 2 again please. Also, the first game yesterday was bananas. One of the best games ever. But I was annoyed by the second game. It was obvious the Mets didn’t want to win because who wants to fly to CA and play the Padres. I get it but still! Bandwagon Padres fan/born and bred San Diegan here. I live in Giants and (former) A's land now though. I'm not trying to be snarky but wondering what you mean by Mets not wanting to fly to CA? Is it too far for fans to come watch or the time change for the players?

I live in Giants and (former) A's land now though. I'm not trying to be snarky but wondering what you mean by Mets not wanting to fly to CA? Is it too far for fans to come watch or the time change for the players? So the games on Monday were a doubleheader, with the second game being played beginning at almost 5. The winner of that game (just based on how it worked out with teams winning/losing Sunday and Monday) would have to fly across the country and play a playoff game about 24 hours later, which is a lot - especially given it was a double header. Usually they have a day off in between cross country travel and a game. Also, given the choice, I’d rather see the Brewers any day of the week than the Padres and I’m guessing the Mets felt the same lol. So I’m like 99% certain the Mets didn’t try to win that game because they would end up with a better schedule and opponent.

Well I guess we are never scoring again. Geez.
If this is it I’m most sad about the possibility of never seeing Verlander or Bregman in an Astro’s uniform again. JV has had a rough year but it’s been a privilege to watch him. Bregman, too. Flags fly forever though and grateful for the memories.
