Well I guess we are never scoring again. Geez. If this is it I’m most sad about the possibility of never seeing Verlander or Bregman in an Astro’s uniform again. JV has had a rough year but it’s been a privilege to watch him. Bregman, too. Flags fly forever though and grateful for the memories. They look super flat. It’s so frustrating when your team slumps at the worst possible time. A few innings left so fingers crossed for you!

The Brewers had just an incredible season, with so many records broken. It's wild to me that a loss tonight means their season is done.

Well it ends like it started—with bullpen explosions and untimely hitting. Disappointing but ready to enjoy some great playoff baseball.
Truly happy for Hinch. That’s a fun Tigers team.

Rooting for the Phillies of course, always and forever. Hoping the Brewers come back and beat the stinkin’ Mets.

Bandwagon Padres fan/born and bred San Diegan here. I live in Giants and (former) A's land now though. I'm not trying to be snarky but wondering what you mean by Mets not wanting to fly to CA? Is it too far for fans to come watch or the time change for the players? So the games on Monday were a doubleheader, with the second game being played beginning at almost 5. The winner of that game (just based on how it worked out with teams winning/losing Sunday and Monday) would have to fly across the country and play a playoff game about 24 hours later, which is a lot - especially given it was a double header. Usually they have a day off in between cross country travel and a game. Also, given the choice, I’d rather see the Brewers any day of the week than the Padres and I’m guessing the Mets felt the same lol. So I’m like 99% certain the Mets didn’t try to win that game because they would end up with a better schedule and opponent. Thank you!

These 3 game series are brutal. I was hoping a few more would need the third game.
San Diego/LA should be a great series, I’m excited for that one.

So bummed about the Astros, but it has been a great run of making it deep into the playoffs so I can’t be too sad. Now I’d like to see the Tigers and Brewers do well.

I'm so happy that 3 AL Central teams are still in it! I'm hoping the Royals can beat the Yankees but I'm not sure they can.

I was definitely pulling for the Brewers in that one. Crazy game!! Was really hoping for Brewers and Tigers or Royals because Manfred/MLB would hate that. Not sure I have a NL preference now other than not the Dodgers.

The Mets look good, they remind me of the Phillies 2 years ago and the Diamondbacks last year. Hot at the right time. A bunch of my friends and family are Mets fans. I feel like I might have to stay off social media for the next week lol

Well that game took at least 5 years off my life. I hope the Phillies can ride that wave and wake up for the next couple of games. That was nuts

Padres game tonight was somehow both low stress and high excitement at the same time. I’m happy they’re heading back to San Diego for the next two although Dodger animosity certainly seems to fuel them.

Huge sigh.
I am a passionate, hard core Phillies fan.
We had tickets to Game 1 and gave them away since we were out of town. I was driving back solo from upstate NY yesterday when the score rolled from 0-2 to 0-3.
I was at peace with the team we had going into the playoffs. We’d go quietly this year. All good.
Then ESPN tells me it’s 3-2. Then 3-3.
A surge of hope. That I CURSED heavily.
Don’t hurt me like this, Phillies.
I turned off ESPN notifications so I could drive down the NE Extension in peace.
Except I kept opening the ESPN app on my phone.
That game was a nightmare because now I have postseason hope and my postseason heart was demolished last year.
My husband texted today. He got two tickets to Game 5. I legitimately told him that my heart cannot take a Game 5 loss at CBP.
He thinks I’m lying.
My friend’s eight year was in tears during the top of the ninth last night. They were in the stands.
My heart is this level of delicate.

I have a whole progressive series of freak out modes - watch on TV, watch on TV with sound off, turn off TV and listen to radio, turn off radio and watch Gamecast on my phone, turn off phone and hide. I reached the last one yesterday lol. I was talking to my parents this morning and we all agreed we wouldn’t have survived being there in person. I get it!

I think I was in my bathroom on the second floor of my house for the last out of the NLCS two years ago. Nick caught it and my husband cheered so I came back. I sit, then stand, then pace, then sit on the stairs and get higher… that was the highest and furthest that I got!

Look, I’m okay for them to lose the NLCS or WS. But - my god - I cannot watch them lose the NLDS. I mentally prepared for it and now they’ve undone that preparation.
I’m scared.

The Cleveland/Detroit game was such a good pitching duel last night. I'm so sad how it ended. Clase shouldn't have been in two innings, he didn't have it last night.

Sorry Phillies fans!! These playoff games have been crazy and unexpected.
Looking like a Padres/Mets vs Tigers WS. Not what I wanted but it’s looking like MLB won’t get its preordained Yankees/Dodgers WS either so I’ll take that win. Please win today Padres and Royals!
ETA: well looks like the Dodgers came to life last night. That’s disappointing.

Well that’s what happens when you peak in June, I guess. At least my stress level will be significantly reduced until April? Cheering for the Padres and Tigers from here. Hopefully I don’t also curse them with my fandom lol.
