I just realized I never checked in. I had a decent but slower month for September. I read 11 books. Favorites were I Can Fix This, Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books, and You Will Never Be Me. Least favorite was House of Glass. Ooo Sleep Tight! I keep seeing everyone talk about that. Glad to see it seems like you liked it!

It was easy to get lost because it was so complex.

I started The Discovery of Witches. Will take me a minute to get used to the paranormal stuff but I'm trying. Thank you Pizzaslut for the tip about the $2.99 All Souls Trilogy, my eyes thank you too & I can return the physical books to my friend without feeling guilty for not reading them. Want to read this month: Bride Starling House The September House I signed up for an author event at a local bookshop later this month so want to try to read that book too. I absolutely LOVED the September house. One of my favorite books Iβve read this year, and itβs not my usual genre. The main characterβs matter of fact way of handling things was the best.

September was a pretty good month for books, I loved all of them in their own individual ways. I am a HUGE Sharon McMahon fan but I will say that her book is wonderful for everyone, even if you don't normally read nonfiction/history. She writes it like a narrative nonfiction and breaks the fourth wall a lot. I loved it. Iβm reading the demons of unrest now! I am a history teacher and yet it still amazes me just how delusional the south was going into the civil war.

I finally finished Dawn Of The Cursed Queen over the weekend. It was sluggish for a lot of it, but the last like 20% picked up. It was mostly setting up for the final (I'm pretty sure) book.
I'm 27% into a Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon and 22% into the House of Devils book one, City of Gods and Monsters, which is like a billion pages long (well over 700), but grabbed my attention right away. It moves right along, so it should be easy to fly through it.

I read Those Empty Eyes by Charlie Donlea and liked it. Not my favorite by him but still a decent thriller.
I also read All I Want is You by Fallon Ballard and hated it. It felt like it was written by a 9th grader, except for the long explicit sex scenes. 1.5 stars.
I finished No One Will Know by Rose Carlyle this morning and it was deeply, deeply weird. It gets points for being surprising because I had no idea where it was going next but unfortunately I donβt think the author did either lol. It was ridiculous in many ways, most of which are spoilers so I wonβt elaborate. But yeah, 3 very low stars.
Iβm reading a debut romance now, One on One, by Jamie Harrow, and Iβm enjoying it so far.

I took some time off last week and got some reading done!
I finished
Twenty Years Later The Best Lies Counting Miracles
I still read Nicholas sparks every year but this one was just meh. The book had potential and Iβm a Hallmark girl so the instant love doesnβt bother me but the book had to much going on and then just ended

I finished Daughter of No Worlds this weekend. I enjoy Carissa Broadbent, and I'm looking forward to book 2.
Started Fourth Wing. I'm only a few chapters in but it's feeling very Divergent with dragons for me.
Still listening to Sandwich. I don't know how I feel about it. Have about 2 hours left.

Was on a little hiatus this summer as we just had so many guests, but managed to read a couple in September (More Perfect and Johannes Cabal Necromancer) and so far this month I've read Bright young women and white is for witching. But had to pop in to tell overboard that without knowing it I have a close connection to TJ Klune. My brother's MIL works for TJ. What a small world! Had never read any of his work before you recc'd TJ. Neat!

Over the last week I've read A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon and Killer House Party. I gave the Witch's Guide 3 stars but I think it would've been more if I read instead of listened. I hated Oz's accent. I did feel that the sex scenes use more realistic language, which I liked. I did not like her one BFF but I plan on reading the next so hopefully my opinion of her changes.
Killer House Party was just meh. I gave it 2.5 stars. It might've been a little too YA for me.

Up next, I'm going to read Mexican Gothic for my mom group book club and re-listen to Everyone in my Family Has Killed Someone for a boozy book club I joined with my friends at a country club one of them is members of.
I also have The Last One at the Wedding that I hope to get to soon.

I read Autumn Winds by Denise Hunter over the weekend. It's a faith-based romance. There was a good plot twist, but it was a predictable twist if that makes sense. 3 stars.
I found The Other Wes Moore at a Little Free Library today and have already devoured the first two chapters. That's a big deal because I fell off reading physical books for years LOL. I just heard him on Pantsuit Politics so it was good timing to find it. ETA clarity

I just started reading The Unmothers by Leslie Anderson and I'm so excited for this one (it's a self described folk horror/mystery) so I hope it doesn't let me down!

I finished A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon and it was ok. I'll read the rest anyways. I have the second one already downloaded.
I'm 69% into City of Gods and Monsters and loving it!

I read two debut romance novels this week.
One on One was really good. Super cute and well written. I love a romance where people talk and act like actual humans. Plus it took place near Philly and in the sports world, two things I really love. 4 solid stars.
I also read Four Weekends and a Funeral and it was cute but definitely felt more like a debut. 3 stars.
Continuing my trip through Charlie Donleaβs books and reading The Girl Who Was Taken next.

I saw that four wedding one on the BOTM list. I may try it then Iβm starting to need romance or something in between my thrillers

I need to find something all consuming to take my mind off of legal stuff.
I did start Bridgerton yesterday and was listening to it while colouring and that was definitely a vibe.

I can't believe my luck! My loan returned for A Discovery of Witches, but the wait times are so long and I was trying to find a way to finish it. Kobo has the entire trilogy on sale today for $2.99! YASSSS. How far into it were you when it returned? I *just* finished it, and OMG I thought it was terrible. I rated it 2 stars, and then I was reading other reviews on Goodreads, and the majority were 1 and 2 stars even though it somehow has over a 4 star rating. I would have been mad if I had spent any money on it. I was so excited to read it too, it was my pick for an 'October vibe' book.

I'm only 60 pages in. I too bought the trilogy. Maybe I'll try again someday but have other books calling my name. Right now, I'm into The Fabled Earth and like it so far.
