I did my strength yesterday so i am happy with myself. I need to try to fit in a run between end of work and before 545 practice, which will either be rained out or in the rain. If not, then cardio day for the program i am slowly doing on my own schedule.

Squeezed in a lift this morning (bench). I should have slept more but I was trying to finish my book club read. I feel pretty good after yesterday though which is encouraging.
Weights moved ok today too.
I haven’t ran in a week so I’m 😬 about that. Maybe a short run this afternoon.

Ran home today, I probably won’t have time for the rest of the week so squeezing it all in 3 days 😂

I decided to keep it fun today since it’s my birthday. 🥳
- 30 min Apple Fitness Dance Cardio with Throwback Hits (including Tearing Up My Heart, Fantasy, and I’ve Got A Feeling) - 5 min Lower Body Stretch with Logan - 5 min Neck Mobility with RK - don’t sleep on this one, it’s short but so effective

Morning.
30 minute reggaeton run with Camila 15 minute pop run with Susie
I missed my stretch because sharing is not caring. I need to do it upstairs to give H the opportunity to go downstairs, because stretching can be done wherever, but it just means I keep forgetting.
Yoga tonight.
I forgot lunch today because my morning was very busy. I never ate my overnight oats yesterday, so they're still in the fridge and will be my lunch, a long with these Mott's Apple Streusel bars that DS insisted he wanted and hasn't eaten.

I barely managed to squeeze in 2 miles tonight. I haven’t been able to run for the last two nights either. I’m basically out of my house from 7 am to 10pm and I feel like I’m drowning. Running saves my mental health but not when I can’t actually do it. Or stress about not being able to do it. I think I’m going to have to become a morning runner and ugh.

Somehow im also caught up around here so spent most of the unseasonably warm day reading outside 😍😊

bunnyfungo, i feel ya. are you out of the house due to kid sports/activities? I started dropping my kids off at their practices or game day warm ups and would sneak a run in. Either around the park, the parks neighborhood or local trial. I'd miss only about 30 mins or so of their practice and if it was a game, i'd be back by the time it started. sometimes you have to be crafty to fit them in.

speaking of fitting in runs...i slacked this week on runs and exercise. between my period, kids testing and homework and sports it was a lot. H is back in town for the week. so i will hopefully have some help. But it looks like we will be at the fields all week again. D has her softball tourny this weekend, fx for a few wins today!
Brodie and I went on a 2.55 mile walk with a jog here and there. we would have gone further but the dog wasn't having it.

I had a bananas busy week and was just fitting in 20-30 minute HIIT rides. But this morning I was able to do Wilpers’ 75 minute PZE. It felt great. Did a stretch as well.

Ugh, hi.
Yesterday I only did a 45 minute yoga. The dog has a double ear infection and was up all night shaking his head so hard he ruptured all the blood vessels in one of his ears, so it's super swollen and red and awful looking and feeling. Dosed him with Benadryl at midnight to finally get him to sleep and I didn't fall asleep until 1am. Gross.
I had a 9 mile run on the docket for today, but DD1 woke up a bit after 5am running a high fever and she's been a mess all morning. And DS is being an absolute meltdown monster, so he is one thousand percent going down next. Coupling that with H having an oil change and hair appointment, DD2 having company dance, and I felt really bad about the amount of time that run would take me, despite having the time to do the whole thing, so I only did 10k. And while my legs felt great and like I could have easily run my 9 miler, my HR was running high. Fluctuating as I'd expect for the swings in intensity I was running, but it was consistently like 5-10bpm higher than normal for what I was doing, so I'm sure I'm going down at some point too. Guess I'll buy some soup and covid tests while DD2 is at dance.
It's the second God damn week of school. THIS IS BULLSHIT.

I have done that in the past, running while they are there. But I’m now at the part of the year where I’m driving them all different places. So I drop one in one place, drive the next one, then go back to get somebody and on and on. It’s exhausting. But I guess that’s life with 4 kids in sports. It should be less crazy after November so I’m just white knuckling it until then. It doesn’t help that DH’s schedule has been all nights so he can’t help split the load at all.

Ugh. I’m sorry cnf. I feel like the beginning of the school year is always a mess of sickness. I think we’ve already gotten letters about pink eye and strep in my kids classes. Wheeeee. As for me, I got in 5.4 miles in a 1 hour run. My heart rate was way too high but I also went running at noon on a super humid day. I wasn’t actually looking at my watch so I didn’t realize it was that high. So based on perceived effort I think I was doing okay. I don’t know if I want to try to do a long run tomorrow. Next weekend is my race but do I need to taper for a half? The plan I was originally following before I started using my watch’s suggested workouts had me doing 12 miles the weekend before. Idk that I want to do that much but maybe another 8-10ish? Next week will be light during the week anyway because of the above mentioned kids activities. So I think I’m leaning yes on another long run.

Yeah I don’t really want to do 12 lol. But that was from the Hal Higdon plan which is pretty popular. That sent me searching on Reddit (so grain of salt and all) and there were kind of mixed answers about whether or not you need the taper for a half the way you do for a full. My longest run was the 10.6 miles that I did last weekend and then I’ve done a handful of other 9s and 10s. Part of me wants to do another long run just for the confidence boost but it probably won’t actually do anything training benefit-wise this close to the race so….idk cnf!! 🤣

Well, I did my first half! My goal was a sub-2 and I surpassed it! 1:54:21! I’m so thrilled! The last few miles were tough but I just fought through them. Weather was perfect, cloudy the entire time and just a light mist at the end!
I came in 3rd in my class, top finisher was a 1:22:23 followed by 1:35:53 😳 SO FAST! Same woman finished in first place last year too.

Then 2 Tuesday, 4 Wednesday, 4 Thursday, race Saturday. You definitely want your long run no closer than a week out, your training is basically done at that point. ETA: I also do the HH training plan.

Went out for an evening run, today was busy.
I haven’t ran in 11 days so kept it short at 2 miles. Ankle felt totally fine so I’m happy. Maybe playing with lengthening my stride a little? Idk. Im like queen of shuffling.

My youngest has had ::checks calendar:: THREE FULL DAYS OF KINDERGARTEN and I had the pleasure of treating him for lice last night. That’s a first in my 12 years of daycares and schools. Ugh.
