starbuck do you love pilates? I want to get into something other than weightlifting and Pilates has always interested me. Are one of those fancy machine trainer things necessary? You can just do a normal mat class from the privacy of your own home, if you want. I've always liked pilates and it was kind of necessary while I was dancing. I wish I had the time to continue doing it.

waitwhat Since I think you said you have only 1 finger separation, this is in response to that. Re: planks. These can be great if you are doing them correctly and bad if you are not. It is very important to have good form. No drooping or slouching or arching your low back or going up into an inverted V. Keep your abs engaged and stay in a straight line. It is not helpful to go as long as you can. Planks should be held with good form only. It may only last 20 seconds at first. Longest they should be held is 1 minute. If you can hold for 1 min with good form, you could start with alternating arm or leg lifts while maintaining the same core position (don't twist your body in order to lift something). Re: bicycle crunches. Are almost never good for weak abdominals or any amount of DR. They tend to splay the abs apart and contribute to separation. Re:Pilates. Love it. It is great with an instructor in a small class. With or without machines. I actually prefer without machines until you are a bit stronger. If you're in a big class then they can't monitor you as closely. It is important to do the moves correctly to activate the right muscles. And often people don't know what the "right" muscle activation is. It may be such a minor difference is but make all the difference. I was perusing through google and these 3 exercises are safe for weak abs. www.simplebackpain.com/best-exercises-for-lower-abs.html

Thank you hangry! Yes I have 1 finger separation. And no core strength so I will be doing those exercises!

Was B an emergency or planned CS? The CS wasn't planned so I guess emergency? It was the result of my water being broken almost 24 hours, pushing for 6 without any progress, and myself developing a fever/infection so we had to get to him out. There are areas all over the body called tension lines. Areas come together, heal better, and are able to go more so back to "normal" if a surgeon is able to use those natural lines for an incision. Sometimes in a rush, or in a surgery where it's just not possible they'll just cut where they need to to make it happen. I'm just wondering if that's a possibility and maybe contributing. Not that we can ever really know..

I hope they would have used the tension lines!

Went to 20/20/20 this morning. The cardio was intense and kind of made me nauseated lol. About midway thru I was really losing my strength. She promised that today was the "baseline" and it would get harder from here. God help me.
Also I did that 10 minute routine last night and it was much harder than I thought it would be. I was a little sore this morning.
My ass is getting kicked, basically.

I don't know why I'm in this thread. I ate 2 ho hos for breakfast this morning. I clearly don't belong here.

AW
Guys I'm so proud of myself. We're traveling from now through Sunday and I packed a cooler with my breakfasts, lunch, and snacks for the whole time! Dinner tonight (restaurant with my parents) and tomorrow (party at my brother's ILs' house) are "cheat" meals although since I'm doing two of them I will keep it pretty well in check.

I mean, I had taco bell for lunch so 🤷 Funny story, I was too busy watching the traffic thru the drive thru and drove right past the kiosk to order. And there was someone right behind me so I couldn't back up. It was one lane so I had to sit there, wait for everyone ahead of me to get their food, and circle the building again. I thought about telling the guy at the window what I did but I was too embarrassed so I just drove around again. He didn't say anything to me when he gave me my food so I don't think he noticed...

This reminds me of the time we got into a drive thru line to get A&W but they told us that it would be about 8 minutes for one of the items to be ready (I don't remember why). We said nevermind and pulled around the building only to get stuck behind a bunch of cars waiting for their food. It took us about 10 minutes to leave, we went to Burger King instead and they were slow as balls. So it probably took 30 minutes to get our food after all that. We could not stop laughing!

My week has not been very good food-wise but I've been keeping up with my 30 day challenge. With my girls night tomorrow, I'll probably give myself a break this weekend and get back into it on Monday.
Also, I'm on my period and I'm super bloated so I hope that explains why I was up 2 pounds this week.

Ok, I just did a light workout (mainly pilates abs and that 10-minute thing). So I feel somewhat redeemed.

I haven't seen it before but would totally try it. We got this stuff from Costco. Our Kroger has it in the health food section so I would check on both. It's not the same as the veggie mixed in stuff. It's made from chick pea flour (or lentil or pea).

I'm really craving cookies. Like, I want to eat about a dozen right now. Or really any baked thing would work. This is only my 5th day of no sweets. How can I do 25 more?
I've been doing well with the ab stuff. Anyone else find it really hard to do the pulling in thing sitting up? I'm fine on my back or standing, but sitting is really difficult for me. I can do it, I just don't like it.

Hi, I've been MIA bc last week was the literal week from hell. Fever babies, two trips to the pedi, whiny/clingy LOs etc - still grateful for all of this though.
I'm ready for this week. After drinking my feelings Friday night we finished off date night with a baby free trip to the grocery store ! Yesterday I planned out all my meals and we're off to a strong start today. I just have to make a batch of oatmeal "cookies" tonight and otherwise GTG.
Today's food: B: Bacon and avocado toast S: Almonds and grapes L: Spinach with tomato and mozzarella and leftover pork from dinner D: Tofu stir fry with mixed bell peppers over brown rice
