I definitely can add this into the challenge I'm doing. I'm on day 3 (skipped yesterday..opps) so it'll be an easy thing to add in.

waitwhat Not hangry, but DR is a separation of 2.7cm or more. So probably 1 finger. More than 2 is considered problematic.

Thought I was in the clear.., awesome. I believe this is correct. Someone on parenting a long time ago referenced a study she was in for DR. They said 98% of pregnant women had some sort of DR after childbirth. I think hangry said awhile back that if you have under 2 fingers, you can do regular ab exercises but if it's more than that, you need to close the gap some before doing normal exercises. I think I screen shitted her posts. Hold, please.

kleigh, mind over matter, I get it. I can certainly do that with some foods, like peas and green beans, but there are others that I just can't make myself eat. I'm going to start cooking for myself like many parents cook for their toddlers, because I'm a 30 year old adult who won't eat her veggies. Way late, but we are life twins. I really dislike veggies but since starting JC half my plate at lunch and dinner are veggies, doesn't mean I love and drool over them like I would cheesy mashed potatoes, but I get them down and know that they are better for me. My go to's are: -steamed carrots with margarine and dill -steamed pea pods with margarine and a little salt -steamed cabbage in a veggie broth with seasoning salt -raw veggies with my fav dip -cooked broccoli or cauliflower with a little shredded cheese melted on top -asparagus Stick to what you like, and repeat if necessary.

kleigh, I have body image issues too. I've been overweight my whole adult life. It's why I rarely posted bump photos. I can't even do 9mos in 9mos out. Not to shame anyone here because you are all gorgeous, wonderful women; I just felt not good enough... I'm always "the fat" friend and here I feel like became and still am the fat N'16er. I have 99lbs to lose! danib, I love Cassie (blogilates) she even sends workout calendars and a password to access it. You sign up on her website. She has 2 beginner months too (still not easy btw). Girl, stop with the negative talk. You are gorgeous and in the process of making changes to feel better about yourself. As my love the Biebs would say, 'Love yourself' ❤️😉

Ok I'm finally checking in here. I've been doing JC since April 12, so just started the 17th week, and I've lost 30 lbs. A total of 55 lbs down since the day I went into labour with J
I'd love to lose another 15 so I have a bit of a flex area but I'd be really happy with 10lbs. So I'm at the end of it and then maintenance begins, I'd like to be at my goal by mid/end of Oct so I have about a month of maintaining under my belt before I start back at work.
When MH gets back I'll be going to at least 2 yoga classes a week during the day and I'd also like to try and fit in lane swimming. We'll see.

Like, I'm confused because do I have pooch from DR or c section pooch or both? I feel like it's never going to go away.

waitwhat Again, I'm not hangry, but I'd say if you only have a one finger width DR, that bicycle crunches & planks are okay. Make sure you incorporate some other ab exercises too that with "squeeze everything in" like the pics I posted of hangry's suggestions.

Pilates has gotten me from 2.5 fingers to 1.5. I'm taking my measurements now and will report back in a few weeks...although I'm still doing Pilates so maybe the combination will speed up the DR recovery.
My phone reminder to do this reads "do your damn shit woman"

starbuck do you love pilates? I want to get into something other than weightlifting and Pilates has always interested me. Are one of those fancy machine trainer things necessary?

I feel like it's never going to go away. Was B an emergency or planned CS? The CS wasn't planned so I guess emergency? It was the result of my water being broken almost 24 hours, pushing for 6 without any progress, and myself developing a fever/infection so we had to get to him out.

Not starbuck but I LOVE Pilates. It was my first true exercise love. I'm dying to get back into it but the classes around here are soooo expensive and I'm spending on Orangetheory already. You definitely don't need a machine. The mat classes are amazing. Maybe I'll do some poking around on YouTube to see if there's any good videos I could do.

Not necessary to have a machine. I like it. It is challenging. There is a lot of lengthening so it would probably feel good after lifting. My instructor incorporates things like large balls, bosu, and foam rollers to increase the difficulty by adding instability, but even those aren't required to get a good workout going.
