. . . -What does everyone want to see from this thread? -How often should it be posted to benefit you?
-What are your goals? -What are you doing to meet those goals? -Have your goals evolved since these babies were born? -How can we help you succeed? -Is there a better way to motivate you? (I feel like we tend to always lift each other up and give hair pats...if anyone needs or prefers tough love let us know!)

I would like to see this thread weekly. That will help me stay on track.
Can we post healthy recipes, snack and smoothie ideas here as well or no? Should that be a separate thread? When I eat healthy I tend to eat the same 3 or 4 things over and over. I need inspiration.
I just did a workout. 30 minutes of cardio (run 15 min on treadmill, 15 min on bike). I got the medicine ball and did some things with that. I feel good.
My goal is to do 30 minutes of cardio everyday. But I'll be happy with 5-6 days. Eat healthy 6 days a week. Drink only 1 day a week. So basically Saturday will be my cheat day normally. I want to drink 100oz of water a day (should I be drinking more?).
Anyone have a Fitbit and want to be friends? I have no clue how to do it but could be helpful.

I think a weekly thread would be good. Anyone who wants to should start it. I personally enjoy giving and getting hair pats but open to others wanting something different for motivation. waitwhat I think it'd be great to put the recipe ideas in here. I actually wouldn't mind if people were a little AW checking in with their daily progress, meals, etc. Obviously again only speaking for myself but I enjoy seeing that stuff.

I totally just mod abused my double post out of this thread. Not sorry. Well I kinda started talking about it over the weekend but I am really unhappy with my post partum body. I'm trying hard to love myself and remember that my body is amazing and gave me two perfect, healthy babies in less than two years, etc. etc. but I have many days where I feel really down about my appearance. I'm currently hovering at about 10 lbs. above pre-pregnancy weight with D, which is 20 lbs. above pre-pregnancy weight with DS. Today is day 1 of 42 of my Mommy Trainer program. I've got my meal plan all set for this week, took my jaw-dropping (not in a good way) measurements and pics this morning, and will be ready to work out when I get home. The workouts are pretty short, which is fantastic. I'm subbing out two of them per week for Orangetheory. I plan to stick to the program in every other way. I don't know if I will lose any weight in the next 6 weeks. Frankly, I may not lose any until I wean. I was already pregnant again when I weaned DS so I don't know how it works, but I'm holding on to that hope. If nothing else, I'll feel good after 6 weeks of clean eating, so I figure it can't possibly hurt. My overall goal, honestly, is to not get discouraged if this doesn't make a noticeable difference. That's where you guys help

dashook that looks so good. What's in the pepper? It's shredded chicken breast mixed with guacamole and a little Slap Yo Mama seasoning. It's so easy and really good! I think it would be yummy to eat with carrots as a snack too.

I like weekly check ins. I also would like to be tagged, like if no one has posted in a couple days maybe someone can tag everyone. I feel obligated to respond to a tag, so I feel like that might help keep me accountable?
I need to lose weight. I'm only working out once a week when I run 2 miles. I definitely need to start doing better with that, but mostly I need to change my eating habits. I need to look at the lunch options a head of time and pick out only 1 or 2 days and then bring a healthy lunch the rest of the week.
My biggest issue is how picky of an eater I am. I hate vegetables. Like, truly hate them. I can eat carrots and cucumbers raw and that's about it. I like tomatoes and onions in things and I can kind of force myself to eat bell peppers. I like avocados and potatoes (but not sweet potatoes), and really that's about it. Oh, and lettuce and spinach. It's really hard to force yourself to eat things you don't like. It sounds silly, but if I bring my lunch to work and it's a bunch of crap I know I hate, I'm way more likely to go hit up the vending machine and eat a bunch chips and candy for lunch instead. I wish I liked more vegetables.

I wish I liked more vegetables. I totally agree with the bolded. I'm a very food-driven person and I spend a lot of my day thinking ahead to what I'm going to eat and when. #fatty lol but seriously; if you're (general you) not excited for your meals you're not going to like them and you're going to lose motivation. Can you (specific you ) try "hiding" the vegetables in your food? Like for example blending them into a sauce where you won't taste them as much but you're still getting the nutritional benefits? Bell peppers and zucchini hide easily in tomato sauce; spinach or kale in pesto, for example. It sounds weird but I have a really amazing recipe for a sauce that is made with butternut squash that tastes cheesy (even though it's dairy free) and is so good on pasta. Although I'm guessing if you don't like sweet potatoes that you probably don't like butternut either... Edit because apparently I had more to say

jubilantsquirrel no worries. You're basically like my toddler when it comes to eating so I can help you sneak in veggies. Have you thought about smoothies or juicing? That's a good way to get in veggies. Or like what about cauliflower rice and pizza crust? That is all the rage these days!

I added a ton of spices too and it still tasted like what I imagine ass would taste like. So... that's a no go on the cauliflower. I am interested in the other things you and waitwhat suggested though! I don't like zucchini, but I think I can handle it hidden in things. Bell peppers are ok, I don't love them raw, but I use them in stir fry and whatnot and don't mind them. I actually like spinach, both raw and cooked. Kale is gross. I love smoothies, so I'm definitely open to smoothie recipes to hide my veggies in.

Add in some steamed mashed cauliflower. Eating spaghetti? Put a shit ton of veggies in the sauce and blend it. Making meatballs? Add in some veggie puree. Mac & cheese or grilled cheese? Add in some pureed carrot or butternut squash. I can find you some recipes if you like or you can get the cookbook Deceptively Delicious.

So I've been doing this 30 day challenge. I enjoyed it in the beginning, but it's just terrible now and totally not realistic. I have to finish it because stubborn.... Only 2 days left.
So I really need to find a good workout routine that is quick (H doesn't give me much time), not too terrible on the joints (RA), and not boring. Super easy right?
Mostly eating well and drinking plenty of water.
I met my goal of doing a push up. Now I just have to keep working on tightening up the belly to be comfy in my jeans again.

That meal looks amazing dashook !!! jubilantsquirrel This totally may not work but consider at least giving it a shot. For me, something clicked a few years ago when I responded to myself "but I don't like it" or "I don't feel like it" with the words "SO WHAT!" I'm not saying it works for everyone or every situation, but I remember it working at the time. Like, "so friggin what...I don't have to like it I only have to eat it. And I have to eat it because I care about myself and because it's good for me and because I deserve to feel the best that I possibly can. Ok enough, I sound like Stuart Smalley. But all I'm saying is, if it's natural and from the earth, try to remember that your body craves it, whether or not your mind wants to believe it.

Hello beauties.
I'm not yet sure exactly what I need but I do want to be tagged if we do that. Like op said, I'm more likely to come into the thread if I'm shamed into it (at least until I get my groove back).
I think weekly check in would be good. I also like the idea of AWing - AW all of it - pics of your food, recipes, weekly weigh in pics, a shot of your treadmill or the run you took, etc. I am a very visual person and am much more motivated by photos than words.
I haven't weighed myself in a while but I think I'd like to, more so that I know where I stand. But I think my primary goal is to get back on track with healthful eating and committing to myself the few minutes to work out. I'm gonna count it all - sit ups and push ups while I play with the babies on the floor, early morning walks, squats in between prepping dinner and feeding babies. I think I just need to remind myself that my needs matter too and for me little achievements propel me to bigger goals.
I also have a major major sugar problem, I need sweets in my life. All the friggin time. I need them every day. I think I need to detox on the sweets. But they're soooo good.
Some of my goals are: - More water! (I've been so much better, prob getting 60-70 oz each day for the past month as opposed to about 8oz per day earlier this year). My goal is 100 oz a day, more on days I work out.
- Eat more food prepped at home (Take out limited to once weekly for each breakfast, lunch, dinner)
- At least 30 mins cardio 5x a week, toning 3x a week+
- One hour long mental health break per week(this is lofty) - either a walk/run by myself or shopping trip or take myself out for a glass of wine etc - something where I am just alone with myself, no talking, no worrying, just sitting and taking in this thing called life
- Every time I look in the mirror and see my twin skin, redirect my thoughts to the simultaneous amazement I feel that my tiny little belly expanded so significantly and wonderfully to grow two perfect little healthy babies at one time. I struggle with this, I do.
Edit - I removed a chunk of the last bullet. I just felt like it could be read wrong if you don't "know" me. I have way too much self consciousness about weight discussion. I find it hard to discuss bc I know I'm lucky that maybe a number on the scale looks good, but there's still disordered views behind it. Sorry if anyone read and it seemed insensitive, was not at all the intention, I should've prob first disclosed that I have body image struggles.

kleigh I think your goal list is great and I especially like that you included time to yourself for mental health too. I think we could probably all use something like that! I didn't see your OP but I know we have talked before on this board about body image struggles and I hope you know that there's no judgment here! If something is bothering you and we can help don't hesitate to ask, even if you just want to throw something on the private board. ❤️
