Have you read any of Rachel Harrisons books? Cackle, Black Sheep, The Return and Such Sharp Teeth are all great! And while they lean a little horror, I would also consider them cozy (ish)! She has a new one coming out called So Thirsty that I'm really looking forward to! I have Cackle and Such Sharp Teeth on my list. Also melohdy , I love Rachel Griffin's YA books. Wild is the Witch, The Nature of Witches and Bring Me Your Midnight. Another favorite I enjoyed is The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy. On my list to read this year is Payback's a Witch, A Witches Guide to Fake Dating a Demon, The Year of the Witching, and Practical Magic. These are great! Adding to my list now

Hit me with your new or favorite reads for fall! It is my favorite reading season and I like anything from cozy "cottagecore" to witchy to spooky and thrillers. I am not a huge fan of gothic, but include those if you know of a really good one. Please and thank you! I had some BN gift cards to spend after my birthday and I picked up The Spellshop and If We Were Villians that fit this description. Oh, and The September House. I've seen The Spellshop all over my Booktok. None of my libraries have it, so I may just buy it since it is so pretty anyway

It doesn’t say special edition, so they may all be that way.

I just started Hey Hun about MLMs. It's cringey so far, but I think it'll be an interesting read.

I finally finished Weyward after taking a little break, and I really liked this book. The writing is awesome. A little slow to start, but definitely picked up by the halfway mark. 4.5 stars!
ETA: Check trigger warnings because I did not and I probably should have.

Putting in a plug for a friend. A woman I used to work with and still see usually once or twice a year wrote a middle grades level children's book. It was released yesterday and I had preordered it so it showed up yesterday for us. DD1 started it last night and when I asked her today what she thought so far she told me it was awesome and she loved it. So I figured I'd drop the link in case anyone else has middle grade kids who like to read. Also, the author is a WOC, so you'd be supporting a Black woman author, if that's something you're looking to do more of 😊 The Skeleton Flute a.co/d/9h45Y7L

I am not a huge fan of gothic, but include those if you know of a really good one. Please and thank you! I will recommend A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon. It’s a contemporary romance but with a sort of paranormal/fantasy twist. Super cute. A little spicy. There are two more books after that. The next is A Demon’s Guide to Wooing a Witch and the one I am currently reading is A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire. They all take place in a fictional place in the pacific north west called Glimmer Falls.

The past three books I’ve read
Perfect Days by Rafael Montes- 4 stars Disturbing, well written. I don’t want to give much away but it took me right in. The author is Brazilian and I liked “being” in a new setting by for me.
A Familiar Stranger by AR Torre- it took about half the book to really get going and then I enjoyed it. Some things didn’t quite add up and with the slow start, I gave it 3 stars.
If You Tell a Lie by Lucinda Berry- 4 stars the story is based on an incident at summer camp years ago so you get that coming of age stuff, which I enjoy. Lucinda’s books can be pretty disturbing so I was bracing myself for it. It took a while but she did it again. It wasn’t too bad though so I would recommend it. She’s had one or two that I felt uncomfortable recommending.

I finally finished All the Colours of the Dark, it was a slow burn for me but I did enjoy it after taking a while to get into it. I’m going to read something light and fluffy next
