I finished Worst Case Scenario, and it is the most emotionally wrecked by a book I have been in a long time. I was finishing it when my girls were home from school and they kept glancing at me crying like wtf is happening lol. I'm so sad my holds are so far out on this! I have a hold at two of my four linked libraries and I'm keeping my eyes on the other two hoping to get on it quicker if they get copies.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be my top book of the year.

I finished The Arrangement and I’m so happy I did. I should never have doubted Kiersten Modglin. I’m excited to continue the series. I also started Sleeping Giants by Rene Denfeld and it’s good so far. Much slower pace. I was just about to quote your first post about The Arrangement to tell you to keep going! I'm glad you gave it a chance.

My August reading has been great so far! All 4 and 5 star books for me.
I read Bitter House by Kiersten Modglin and gave it 4 stars. Not my favorite of hers but I enjoyed it. I'd say more mystery than triller. I didn't anticipate the direction it would go in the end.
Next I listened to Worst Case Scenario by T J Newman and absolutely loved it. 5 stars and my favorite of hers so far.
I read Until Next Summer by Ali Brady and gave it 4 stars. I always enjoy their books and they are fun summer reads. It was a little longer than it needed to be though.
I just finished listening to Zero Stars, Do Not Recommend by M J Wassmer and thought it was great, 4.5 stars. The narrator did a great job so I would definitely recommend doing the audiobook if you can. It was fast paced and hilarous. And I'm always a sucker for dystopian/apocalyptic books. This was a debut and I'm definitely looking forward to more from the author.
I'm almost finished with Look in the Mirror by Catherine Steadman and I'm really enjoying it too.

I started Tastes Like War, not knowing it was a memoir. I’m not sure I’m in the right headspace for something so serious, but I may keep trying, because it is good.

I finished What Have You Done. It was ok. It kept me interested but there was just to much going on and I hated the end

I just finished The God of the Woods and I loved it. I'm so glad it held up to my expectations. I didn't want it to end.

I finished The 100 Years of Lenni & Margot last night and was a mess. In a good way. A friend recommended it to me and I adored it. It's from 2021, but when I posted about finishing it, had two people message me about it - one was reading it at the same time, and another works at a library and had just re-shelved it. Highly recommend.

I started Icebreaker. I think lighthearted romance is exactly what I need right now.
The one I’m listening to, Sleepless in Manhattan, is sooo cheesy. The dialogue is ridiculous. But it’s keeping me entertained, so that’s good lol.

I finished What Have You Done. It was ok. It kept me interested but there was just to much going on and I hated the end I finished this yesterday too. I felt the same way. I guessed the ending early on. I thought it was boring and I kept waiting for something more exciting to happen.

Over the weekend I re-listened to the Assistant to the Villain, then read the Apprentice to the Villain. I gave it 4 stars. It kept my attention but it wasn't as good as the first. I believe the next one is the last, which is good, they need to wrap it up.
I'm not sure what I'm reading next. I've had a rough week and need something happy.

I finished Funny Story then ripped through The Rom Commers today.
I grabbed Ghost Station to start tomorrow and I'll start The Suite Life, the third in the Melanie Summers series, since none of my other romance holds are available yet.

So I keep seeing people talk about Ania Ahlborn and her books, especially Brother. My library only has The Devil Crept In so I grabbed it.
So far it's not capturing me? Like I could take it or leave it. I'll keep reading until halfway at least but I'm not getting super into it. I just feel like she's so wordy? Like a page and a half to say someone crossed the street lol. It's a lot. Has anyone else read?

I put down I see you and picked up a rom com Bridesmaid for hire
It’s ok but it’s so similar to Christina Lauren’s newest and the main characters are not the best. But I’ll finish it

I actually liked Uglies- I'll be reading some more. What do you think for an 11 yo? I saw online it was suggested 12+, close enough?
I started Cruel Prince yesterday. Hoping to make time to read it this week.

My August book count is gonna be really low, ha. I started King at the beginning of the month and I am still about 300 pages from finishing it. Narrative biography and it is so dense with information so it is slow moving for me. In a good way! It is great. But just a lot to digest.

I finished Big Swiss and ended up enjoying it a lot more than I thought it would - if it's been on your TBR list I'd recommend it for sure!
I started The Dangers of Smoking in Bed: Stories by Mariana Enriquez and am really liking it so far.

I don’t know what could still happen in the 120 pages of Bridesmaid for hire. I’m already on 325.

I finished Sea of Monsters. I am taking a Percy Jackson break and started another book. It’s werewolf’s guide to seducing a vampire. It’s the third book in a series. You don’t have to read the first two to completely understand the story but it is a better experience if you do. I really love these books.

I'm almost done Killer Instinct (#2 of The Naturals). These books are like crack lol. They're not the best literature ever. But you can read them in 1-2 days and they're fast and super enjoyable. I'll definitely be reading all 4.
