I kinda remembered that I'm doing a 5k in less than a month. I run with friends who are not particularly fast, but I haven't been running a ton. So I ran a full 5k today, and it felt good! After I came home from that, did a 30 minute full body strength, and stacked another 10 minute core class. I'm about done for today, especially because I'm getting my Tdap booster this afternoon.

Just following my watch’s daily suggested workouts and it had me do a 39 minute base run which ended up being like 3.3 miles. It hurts my brain to run odd distances like that. I also left my headphones in the minivan, which DH had when I needed to do my run so I obviously went without. It was surprisingly fine? Maybe I should try that more often. I kinda zoned out and got lost in my thoughts there for awhile.

Morning.
30 minute interval run with Marcel D 10 minute chest and back with Ben 5 minute stretch with Camila
Yoga tonight.
I've been slowly pulling back this week because my legs are creaky and I have a race on Saturday. Just a 5k, but I was hoping to hit a post DS PR, but it's going to gross and rainy, which means it'll also be windy since it's a long the lake shore. I'm going to forgo thoughts of a post kid PR and just go enjoy racing for the first time in like three years. I'm doing it with a group of old friends from my baby boot camp days, so it'll be fun regardless.

PT and a 20 minute ride with Hannah F for me this morning. I was going to skip the ride because I was short on time, but then I figured I could squeeze in a short one. Glad I did!

My kids went back to school today and it was time. These last couple of weeks have been survival mode. The kids get on the bus at 645, so I threw my running clothes on and took the dog out for a run. I went 4 miles and managed to keep my HR right around 160 or below. It was nice to get outside early and get it done. I need to take advantage now before winter hits and it's pitch black and icy when the bus comes.

20 minute pilates this morning. I am hoping to walk later, but not sure what the weather is doing, so if nothing else, will swim with the kids!
ETA: Lifehack on getting vaccines - if you're already sore from your workout, you can't tell the difference between workout soreness and what came from the vaccine! This was Tdap, they said that flu is out for the year but it's a bit early still, and that they expect to have the updated covid one in about 2 weeks.

I used to only stop on quarter miles, but I've eased up my crazy a bit and just make sure I end on a .X5 or a .X0. So the 3.3 won't bother me as much as it used to, but if I ended on like 3.32 I'd keep running to either 3.35 or, more likely, 3.4 miles.

Another 39 minute base run for an awkward amount of miles 🤣 I feel like if my watch is going to give me time based workouts rather than distance based they could at least make it 40 minutes!!! I felt kind of crappy on my run but I kept it in zone 2 and my pace was right on target so I guess it was actually fine lol

coldcoffee I got the Garmin Forerunner 265. I absolutely love it! I was actually able to put in my upcoming half marathon and my goal pace and it creates workouts specifically for that goal. I like that it also adjusts day by day for you. You can look a week ahead at your suggested workouts but it will change them if it needs to. Like today was originally supposed to be an interval workout for me but last night I got a sleep score of like 50 and it switched it to a base run. The pace targets have also been spot on. The race predictor is a bit aggressive though. It thinks I can hit 2:15 for my half and I’m like….oh, Gertie.

CF was aaaaaaaall arms and shoulders this morning. Trying to wash my hair afterward was pretty much worse than the actual workout.

I set out to run a steady state 5k this morning, but about 2 miles in there were dolphins(!!!) in the ocean so I took a break to watch them in the surf because it was just so cute! I did a 10 minute yoga for runners when I got home to try to stretch out.

The only thing I ever see on my runs is some sandhill cranes wandering around in the corn field. Decidedly less cool.

potatocakes, I've been lucky on most of my trips to the coast or gulf to see dolphins on my runs. Definitely a treat!

My run today was the suck. I stacked two walk + runs and when I went to start my 2nd workout, of course, the app acted as if I had no stack and wouldn't play the 2nd workout even after pulling it up separately. Then my 5k race app acted as if I had ended my workout but at least I was able to salvage it. It also probably wasn't the smartest idea to run in 85 degrees and high humidity and most of it uphill and I wasted I don't know how many minutes trying to get my apps to work.
But I need to get over it and chalk it up to one bad workout and move on.
- 20 min Walk + Run with Hosky - 20 min Walk + Run on my own - 8 min IT Band Routine - 10 min Post-Run Stretch with Kristen
