I've been all about the run clubs since moving out to Portland! I have one tonight I really like, we always meet at a bar, run 4ish miles, then back to the bar for food and drinks. One great thing about Portland is by law bars are required to serve food, so either the bar has food or they have a food truck set-up. There's always 30ish people and everyone is really friendly! I'm looking forward to tonight's run.
I'm also training for my first half in September. I'm pleased with my pace on my shorter runs, it's about 8'40" and my goal has been to get to 8'30", but IDK if I can keep that up for 13 miles. I looked at my age group yesterday and I think I have a good chance of placing in the top 3 if I keep up on my training and my speed improves a bit. Curious to see how it goes!

No formal exercise yesterday but a couple dog walks and my weekly torture massage.
Today I did a 30 min endurance run with Selena and a 20 min yoga flow with Chelsea. It was a little too warm for my taste on my run but I gutted through.

30 minute PZ with Tunde this morning. She went hard! Warm up alone included 6 spin ups, 30 seconds on, 15 off! It was great. I’m picking DD up from camp tomorrow, and taking the day off from the bike. 90 minute ride with Wilpers on Saturday morning, and I want to have fresh legs.

30 minute body appreciation ride with LeAnn 15 minute climb ride with Sam 5 minute core with Olivia 5 minute stretch with Emma
I skipped yoga due to a late bedtime last night. Hopefully I can get it in tonight.
I'm at school all day for some curriculum writing. I'm trying to hole up in my classroom but I can't access our cloud for whatever reason, so that's fun.

Nasty shoulder flare. Skipping the workout today and I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

I swam some laps in my parents’ pool yesterday, and was back at OTF this morning. I wasn’t really in the mood for running, but I still added 2.22 miles to my marathon month tracker, so that was good.

My ortho had an appt open up for next Tuesday so I don't have to wait until the end of the month.

Finally got out for a run after two days off. Tuesday was a planned rest day and yesterday was supposed to be speed work but I went to Kamala’s rally and after 6 hours standing in the sun I was a big nope on doing anything at all. Tonight I just did my watch’s suggested workout of a 39 min base run for 3.5 miles. I’m thinking I’ll just do 2 easy miles tomorrow and then Saturday is my race. I decided to do the 5k and finally go for that sub 30. I’m nervous and excited and hope my brain just lets me do what I know my body can do.

45 min PZE ride with Denis, 5 min post ride stretch with Olivia, and 10 min shoulder mobility class with RK. I haven’t been on the bike in a minute and it was nice. But I was watching the USA v Brazil women’s volleyball semi final and it was raising my heart rate more than the exercise.

If you really want to push yourself on Saturday, I would probably skip a run tomorrow. Do a walk and some good stretching. And lots of water. You got this!

I’ve been reading about the Olympic marathon course. Holy hills it is insane! 1430 feet of elevation. 1.25 mile 4% incline at one point. Another hill that tops out at 13.5%! I’m really excited to see how it plays out.

I’m really excited to see how it plays out. It’s a route I have done before, there’s an annual 16k called Paris Versailles, and that hill is BRUTAL. And the marathon course does it twice 😂😂

And so damn difficult looking.

I have to drive the kids and I to Syracuse, so I may have to time our drive strategically.

OTF this morning. All this week, I keep having to go up in weights bc the ones I actually want to use are being used. It’s not the worst problem to have, but it’s making me push myself for sure.
I just got more than halfway to my mileage goal for marathon month, so that is good. I am well on track. H will be out of town a bit next week, so I won’t be able to go for a few days, and will likely do some Peloton stuff instead.

Yesterday I got out for a walk and that was it. Did spend another few hours lining soccer fields for this weekend. Today I did a 30 min Green Day lanebreak to prepare for the show tonight. Weeee!

Guys. I DID IT!!! 29:42!!!!! I’m so excited and proud of myself. I didn’t go out too fast and I found a couple of girls that I could tell were going at the pace I needed and I just didn’t let them out of my sight. At about 1 mile to go I made a move and passed them and just pushed to the end. Yayyy.

Should I be awake at 2am tonight I'll watch some of the women's marathon. The Bills play at 1pm too today though, so there'll be some jumping back and forth.
