I could not love the USA gymnastics uniforms any more. That are so perfect! My favorite was actually the ones they had for podium training, but the ones they wore today looked amazing too. So much sparkle! I'm so excited for the team final on Tuesday. I'm hoping they do similar broadcasts as today - peacock broadcast is different from TV live coverage, plus the prime time recap. I will watch all of them. Possibly more than once lol. |

I understand the no more than 2 per country in the all around, but I don’t like it. Yeah - it's one of those things that I can passionately argue both ways. I don't know that there is a right answer. It's frustrating and sad for very talented athletes that could very well compete for a medal, but also keeps more countries in the mix for medals and helps grow the sport. |

I recorded this morning but started with the peacock coverage because we were traveling today and the app is better than my cable app. That feed mentioned nothing about Simone's leg so I was very confused for a while! |

I went to see rowing today, it was mostly heats but I did get to watch the USA men’s 8 take first place in their heat to automatically get into the finals! This family of ducks have no cares about interfering with the races 😂  |

I get the reasons but also it it kind of sucks Most sports have some issues with the Olympic model of selection. The fed in the World Games follows it (no more than 2 per weight class per country, total of 8 per sex). The problem is in one weight class the top 10 are from the US. Like 1 and 2 get to go but any of them from 3-10 would place 3rd at worlds , but any of them from 3-10 would place 3rd at worlds, but they aren't allowed to go because of that stipulation. I am also at I get it, but also they should want the best to be competing for the top spot, and they are limiting the competition by disallowing known top competitors from the event. |

I'm really enjoying seeing the gymnasts acting silly during the competition. Such a huge change from when I was growing up during the Karolyi era.

I also feel like the direction of the sport to have “older” competitors at the elite level is really good. Everything is more athletic now and the athletes seem less fragile. It was really getting uncomfortable there for a bit. I think the change to allowing athletes to compete in college and the elite level is super positive. Seems like it really helps with confidence. And a number of the athletes competing for other countries train and compete for American colleges, which is cool. |

I stayed up late watching the USA v China volleyball game and was halfway through the 5th set when I opened Facebook and got an immediate spoiler about who won. Which was not us lol. It’s still pool play so they aren’t out yet but damn.
