Who else is ready for the games? What events will you be watching?
My house is most excited for tennis and gymnastics, but any sport will be my background noise for the next couple of weeks and I expect to be oddly invested in some activity I know nothing about by mid week.

I love gymnastics and diving. Oh and swimming. The only thing I don't get super in to in track. Breakdancing is new this year, so that should be entertaining

Where are the best options for watching? My youngest is very interested this year, especially for tennis. NBC will have prime time coverage (mostly team USA highlights) each night, but you can watch live on Peacock and maybe some of the other NBC affiliates like USA network and CNBC. |

These summer Olympics finally broke us down and we got Peacock. I will watch basically anything in the summer games but swimming, diving, gymnastics are my top faves. DS is excited for race walking (🤷🏻♀️ random but ok) and of course soccer will be on. He’s wearing his USMNT shirt today to camp. We also have a local person on the rugby team so I’m sure we’ll watch that too.

I'm super excited. I will be all in on the swimming, but usually watch diving, tennis, and pretty much whatever's on.
I am interested in this huge wave situation in Tahiti and the surfing. Absolutely will watch that, as well as the new full body contact kayaking lol because wut.
CBC gem has all the streaming for free if you have a Canadian VPN.

I’m so so excited!! I have my whole American family coming out for the next 2 weeks. We’ve split up a bunch of events, for me I will be seeing:
Indoor volleyball
Swimming
Track and field
Rowing
Soccer
Taekwondo
And then basketball for the Paralympics, in the beginning of September.
First up is rowing on Monday!

As far as Americans to watch, I will be watching Katie ledecky and Simone biles, for sure. And the men’s bball team. Can’t wait to see what they accomplish.

We're excited to watch with the kids this year. My favorite event is archery because Koreans dominate but apparently there's some worry about them breaking their winning streak this year.

Obviously most looking forward to the equestrian (especially eventing) but it rarely gets much coverage. I loosely know a couple people on the Canadian Eventing team, because the community here is pretty small.
Will also check out the gymnastics, diving, and pretty much anything else too!

I’m so excited. Although I have to watch my sleep. I’ve been known to watch the random ass sports they show middle of the night because if you get a medal for it, I can somehow be persuaded to watch it.
I’m especially excited because my MLB team has given up on this season with two months left to go. So I can end my miserable watching of them for the next couple of weeks.

We’re so excited over here- we love Olympics. It’ll be on in the background the entire time. We love the swimming, gymnastics and soccer but we will watch it all.
DS1 is having a watch party for the opening ceremony with some of his friends and we’re making some themed treats. I imagine we will do the same for the closing ceremony.

DD2 is pumped to see Coco Gauff as the flag bearer. She doesn’t even really know what that means, but she loves Coco so she’s all about it. I think we will be at gymnastics for the opening ceremony so we’ll have to record and watch later.

I can’t wait for women’s soccer. I’m super excited about the new coach and the roster changes since the World Cup. Especially excited to see 3 black women as kick ass forwards leading the team.

Or can you watch previous events? They have replays of all the trials so I’m guessing they will have replays of the actual events too. |

I saw a billboard at AMC Theater yesterday that they are having live watch parties on their big screens in affiliation with NBC. I think it'd be fun to watch but probably overpriced. |

I am so excited for the Olympics. I am looking forward to the opening ceremony, swimming, gymnastics and some running events.
I have cable and usually there is always one event on at all times on the many many nbc channels.

Oh well I guess softball isn’t happening this year. Bummer.
In 2028 they are playing in OKC instead of LA which is also a bummer. The one event we would probably try to go to.

I will get to see the following: Indoor velodrome cycling Athletics Table tennis 😂 The women's futbol gold medal match Women's weightlifting where I was selected to be in the fan section 😂 have been meaning to ask GhoatMonket when do you cheer, when do I need to be quiet? Anybody I should keep a lookout for? I basically know nothing about weightlifting 😂 |

We always love to watch gymnastics and swimming. DS is super into soccer right now so we’ll watch every match we can find. We still have a cheap Peacock sub from a Black Friday deal last year.

There's usually plenty of downtime when they are loading and changing attempts. |
