I can’t believe June is almost over.
Work this week. It should be an easy but good week.
My sister is having her big Fourth of July bbq this weekend. I’m not into celebrating America right now so I’m going to ignore a lot of it and just call it a summer bbq.

I am going to see Blink 182 tonight. I last saw them in 2000 and my back went out yesterday. Feeling old asf.

Not the best start to the week. On Saturday, We bought a new umbrella for our table on the deck. I opened it up this morning and sent the girls out to draw. A big gust of wind came and blew it right off the deck. Luckily the girls were ok, but 2 of the poles bent. Not sure if H will be able to fix it. And thanks to my period, I sat down and cried about it.

Very embarrassingly, Blink 182 is the only mosh pit I've ever had to get rescued from. Probably also in 2000. At a Warped Tour. I blame it on the fact that it was all Bros who didn't understand how pits were supposed to work.

It’s a lovely day and a nice break from all the heat. DS2 and I had a messy outdoor play class at the library this morning and then went to lunch with SIL and the cousins.
DS1 is going to watch DS2 for me to get a pedicure later. It was one of the coupons he made for me for Mother’s Day. Despite their huge age gap they’re best pals and I’m so grateful.
I’m doing some gardening while DS2 naps now. I had so much growth during the heat!

Have fun pobre! My kid is at sleep away camp and I’m struggling with not being able to check on her, but it’s alleviated by being in a close by mountain town by myself for a week! I’m reading and having a hard cider.

I am flying solo for the next few weeks and spent the entire weekend in comfy clothes on the couch watching tv and ordering too much DoorDash. Am real bummed to be at work today in real clothes and being forced to use my brain.

I know I'm going to miss him so much but H and I are trying to plan some date night stuff to enjoy while he's away.

We've reached the part of summer is phx where the weather report is 110 and oh tomorrow and all week will be the same. And possible storm which means we see clouds on the horizon build in the afternoon and usually poof disappear.

H just missed almost a week of work earlier this month (not covid but he was SICK) and he's out of sick time til August so I'm being extra extra cautious and keeping my distance. Fingers crossed!

sweptaway I hope you avoid it. We are on day 7 of the 16YO’s mystery illness. We know it’s not Covid/rsv/flu/strep/mono but he’s getting worse not better and I am growing increasingly mad at the pediatrician’s practice we use and their dismissal of his symptoms (and yes I am waiting on a call back from someone to discuss this with). Thank you for letting me vent here.

June has been an absolute blur. We've gotten nothing done except for work and I'm about to figure out if we actually made any money working so much.

trueblue, I'm so sorry you're going through that! When my son had a mystery illness many years ago his pediatrician was by my side every step of the way, including multiple hospitals. I hope you get someone you can count on soon. What's going on with your son?

I seriously can’t believe it’s July next week I KNOW. This year has been such a blur. Yesterday was 6 mos since my H passed and I wrote him a letter that left me sobbing and I woke up this morning and my eyes were so swollen. I put my mascara on and got it all over my eyelid and now my eyes are less swollen, and I look like a child who was playing with their mom's make-up. On the less Debbie Downer side, my addition project is officially complete, and I have been able to fully move into my new bedroom and it's lovely. I'm having some friends over for dinner tomorrow and they are going to help me do some of the two person jobs in the space that I can't do alone and then it will be done done.

ponyhairs , sending you hugs and congratulations on finishing the addition. I bet that's a huge load off. Construction projects are no joke. I am so glad to have my house back and not have people wandering in and out constantly. The GC came by yesterday to look at the shower floor and he told me he was coming at 10 so I was in my bathroom getting ready wearing no pants, and he and the tiler showed up at 8:30! Luckily the dogs let me know someone was in the backyard or they would have gotten an eyeful.

ponyhairs I can't believe it's been 6 month so I imagine it feels shorter and longer times both at same time for you. Congrats on surviving a remodel all in the middle of it. Glad you can settle into your new old home
