Hi, it’s me, planning to run a little ol’ 5K in about a month but have just been feeling old, unmotivated, and worn out. Going to focus on some (gentle, lol) strength training this month in addition to trying to get back into a running routine and focusing on better nutrition. If our spring would stop getting false starts, that would really help me out. Thank God there are no more candy holidays for a while, either. 😅🫠🫣 We had one beautiful day this weekend and I ran about 1.75 with my much-younger friend at a respectable pace, and did not die.

The kid and I are planning to run a local 5k on the 20th. She has been less than diligent about training, but she's gone on a few runs (about a mile for her) with me, and at least they run track once a week at school, so I think she'll be fine. We did a 5k as a family last year around the same time and she did ok with a lot of walking.

I am back from vacation and ready to take on a new month with the same old goals! I missed my phase 1 of run challenge by less than 2 miles. I just could not get them in yesterday.
This months goals. Increase water intake. Run 75 miles (this is high for me and I know it may be out of reach) Strength 3x/week Yoga or stretch daily. at least 5 mins.
Today is run club. so I am aiming for 3 miles.
Food: B: 2 eggs with cheese S: peanutbutter pretzels L: berry argula salad with LLM apple cider vinegar chicken D: spaghetti and chicken nuggets.

Happy April!
My goals from last month will roll over- 83 miles minimum for running and cycling respectively, water, lose weight, core everyday. In March I ran 90.1 miles, cycled 90.7 miles, did a subpar job on water, lost 2lbs, and still have yet to miss a day of core all year.
Kicked off this morning with 4.5 happy miles.
20 minute interval run with Olivia 20 minute interval run with Jess King 20 minute full body strength with Tunde 5 minute core with Emma 10 minute stretch with Wilpers
Yoga tonight. Food, I don't know. The kids gave me their germs from last week, so I'm very boogery and want junk food, but I'll try to be good.

March was rough for me with being sick with a stomach bug and head cold so my goal was to get back into the swing of things.
I completed one round of RK's 5-day split (after completing one round of her 4-day split) so my plan for April is to continue that (targeting 6 rounds total). I also got back into running in March so I want to keep working through the None 2 Run program and then pick back up with my 10k program.
I also plan to do bi-weekly weigh-ins and measurements and photos monthly to keep track of my progress.
The other things I've been focusing on is 30 grams of protein at each meal + snack and have been doing well (sans Easter weekend LOL) and logging my food but where I'm looking at protein and nothing else. I have found that I have not snacked hardly at all when I get at least 90 grams but typically coming in around 120. I'm also focusing on drinking more water. I think both have helped my brain fog, improved my workouts, and helped with recovery.

I did pick up weights a few times in March. I tried Callie's Soundtrack Strength, which made it fun. Two 8-week classes plus work is more than what I'm used to, so I'm having trouble fitting in more than 15-30 minutes at a time. But that's more than 0!
I also burned the shit out of my left hand last week by grabbing the stainless pan that had just been in a 425 degree oven (smart--I know!) and with blisters on four fingers I couldn't hold a dumbbell for a bit. I should be back on my game this week.
I stopped tracking food for a while, but I need to get back just to make sure my protein and micronutrients are better than where they were.

I've got a 5K in May and a 10K in June. Leg still gives me problems but that's pretty much the norm now.

I did a Strength for Runner with Becs Gentry and then went for a run outside. My seasonal allergies are now trying to kill me. Gosh.

Hi! A big chunk of Highway 1 fell into the ocean this weekend so who knows if the Big Sur Marathon is going to happen at the end of the month or not! Luckily, this has happened before and the race route was changed to be an out-and-back instead of a point-to-point, so let's hope that's a viable option this time. It would mean not running over the Bixby Bridge, sadly.
I ran 145 miles in March, and even was able to keep it up during the two weeks I was traveling for work. I did add in 4 strength training sessions during the month, and I will try to keep that up this month, as well.

Happy April, all! March was fine. I kept up with OTF as much as possible. I have made some improvements there. I went this morning at 6:05 instead of 5, since it’s spring break and the kids didn’t need to be out of the house as early. I had a great workout. It was a fun one, with squat jacks and tread blocks for distance. The floor was tough, lots of burpees and similar movements. I plan to go most of this week, but the one day I can’t go, Thursday, is a benchmark row. Oh well. I think my lingering sore throat is/was a mild ear infection from DS splashing water in my ears at swim class. It never turned into a cold and remained only in my ear and throat, so that’s what I’m chalking it up to. It seems to be getting better, but if it doesn’t resolve within a couple more days, I will consult my doc. gingy right there with you aiming for more protein. I haven’t been macro tracking at all, but I do want to start making sure I’m getting enough protein. Related- Zach Coen had a sausage gravy and biscuit egg white bake that I made this weekend, it’s really good!

How is it already April!?
I ended up running around 120km in March, my goal for April is 100km. I have a half in the beginning of June that I’m training for, and then the unofficial marathon in July.
A very slow recovery 3km run today, I swear I could have walked faster!

March was good for me, kept up with training and ran my half. April will likely be quieter as I just found out I have an OR date for my (last!!) surgery for April 9. Any info or experiences with laparoscopic hysterectomy and ovary removal would be appreciated!
Upcoming races (not sure how many I’ll be able to do, with recovery times etc) - April 21: 10k - unlikely I’ll be able to do that his one. - May 12: 8k trail race (big kids doing timed 3k at the same event, DS2 doing a kids’ 1km) - end of June: Solstice 5km - Same monthly trail race (different locations) in June, July, Aug, Sept. - full marathon Aug 18 (hopefully)

March went well - I consistently completed an hour of yoga/pilates and an hour of strength each week, and ran 3x per week every week except this last one, due to spring break and weather. I am planning to continue the same in April, but want to be more thoughtful about nutrition - I've been getting adequate protein, but would like to make sure I'm eating fruits and veggies with snacks as well as meals instead of just grabbing junk from the pantry.

Big oof- I hope you're healing quickly! I did that too once, with a cast iron pan. I guess I thought the handle wouldn't be hot, even though it had been in the oven.

I usually put a handle cover on after I pull it or the cast iron out of the oven. I didn't even think about it this time. It's healing better than I expected, really. Only one blister hung around for the long haul.

My sinus thing is killing me. But I am listening to my body and still moving. I walked just over 2.5 miles last night instead of running. Today is going to be an active recovery day to give me more time to rest.

Happy April! I’m signed up for races, but I don’t think they’re in the cards for me. Goals this month are to restart PT and to get in 200 miles in on the Peloton. Hopefully I’ll be cleared to swim again soon too.
I took a rest day yesterday. This morning was a 45 minute low Impact ride with CDE.

Morning.
30 minute metrics run with Selena 15 minute beginner run with Olivia 10 minute arms and shoulders with RK 10 minute glutes and legs with RK 5 minute core with Robin 10 minute stretch with Robin
That metrics run was zero extra chatter. Cues and call outs only. Lots of just running to the music. I worked my booty off on it too. I was sucking wind for the second run, which I just took for extra distance. I squeezed 5 miles out of myself, so happy with that.
That RK lower body is a spring hunt class too, for anyone trying to snag a badge for that. I figured out the riddle easily enough and will take that class tomorrow.
Taking the girls swimming again today. H is supposed to take us out to lunch on campus afterwards which the girls are so excited for.

OTF this morning, and my throat finally feels better today. 🙌
I aimed for a green day (where my HR doesn’t go into the orange zone), but it ended up to be more a gray/blue day. When I power walk, I feel like I’m working so hard, but my HR barely touches the green zone. But whatever, I’m happy with the workout.

Feeling good about this week/April so far. I did a 20 minute yoga class live yesterday morning, and walked in the afternoon. Today, I ran with DD to school and kept going on the trails for 4 (slow) miles total, followed by a short walk with H. I have a 20 minute Glutes/Legs class stacked to do in a little bit, too.

Split workout day
Morning:
- 30 min Glutes & Core with RK - 5 min Lower Body Stretch with Matty
Lunchtime:
- W5/D1 N2R - 5 min Post-Run Stretch with Adrian
I just beat the rain that's coming back and likely bringing its friends thunder and lightening, although hopefully not tornados.

Rest / office day yesterday.
30 min intervals and arms and 5 min post ride stretch. Hate that I’m sorting classes easiest to hardest… but it’s better than nothing when it’s raining and raining and AF is here and this head cold and my still sick kid.
Tomorrow is another office day and rain so no walking again.

Speed run today and I def hit it hard 🥵 it was only 3x 2 min zone 5 repeats with 2 minutes zone 2 between (plus warmup/cool down) but it wore me out.
Then to the gym tonight for deadlifts/pull. My shoulder/trap still sucks on the left so I need to figure that out at some point.

Morning.
I did a long workout today for my birthday!
30 minute live progression run with Wilpers 10 minute cool down run with Mariana 5 minute core with Olivia 10 minute stretch with Wilpers
Dropped DS off at daycare and came back to finish.
30 minute full body strength with Andy 10 minute lower body stretch with Matty
Yoga tonight.
I got a shout out from Matt, so it was worth dragging myself downstairs for the 6am run. I had to hop off really briefly because DS fell playing and hurt his butt and wanted me to kiss it better. He was mad I wouldn't kiss his ass 😂 H swooped down and grabbed him. I managed to whittle my pace back down, but I was still cranky since you can't pause live workouts. Treated the cool down run as an extra 10 and ended with a solid 4.5 miles.
I'm getting all the freebies today, so the girls and I will hit Starbucks and get pizza for lunch from a place that does free birthday pizzas. Then we're going out to Texas Roadhouse tonight, plus cake. I will be sufficiently chubbed up and happy by the end of the end of the day.

Morning workout done and loving being able to knock these out early!
- 30 min Legs & Biceps with RK - 10 min Full Body Stretch with JJ
I want to get a walk in later to shake everything out as my legs are toast after yesterday and today's workouts and it's National Walking Day.
