I'll try to think of something, I'm sure I can at least come up with a food UO or some very tame confession.

This week, I dropped my little kid off at daycare without his lunch. That same day, I realized I had returned my big kid's school library book to the town library so he couldn't bring it to back school on library day.
When I left the house without the little kid's lunch, my husband noticed and tried to call me. I didn't get his calls/messages because I had jokingly blocked him because he was being annoying and forgot to unblock him. Oops.

Maybe a FFFC but I wouldn't bring my kids a lunch if they forgot it. Oh well. They're older and sometimes don't eat during the school day anyway. But I don't think I ever would have.

I lied to DD this morning. It was a weird lie too, she asked if I ever ditched school and I couldn't see why she needed to know that ditched quite a bit as I got older. I know I should of been more honest, and explained what I lost by ditching. But i didn't have it in me this morning.

You can tell her more honestly when she's a teenager.

TLDR: I lied to the LDS folks who came knocking a few weeks ago and DD1 freaked out thinking that we were going to hell.
Longer: It was dark, rainy, and H wasn't home. Two very nice young people from the LDS church came knocking at our door - I may not have answered, but my two girls were literally staring at them through the front windows. So I answered the door and gave them a second to do their intro schpeel before letting them know that we were already plugged in with the church up the street and sent them on their way. Well, that was a lie. We have not gone to church since Covid started and H and I have decided that it doesn't really resonate with us anymore. Our girls have gone to Christian church with us in the past and have a small foundation of understanding. DD1 got upset when they left because I lied to them. She decided that would make God mad and we'd go to hell. It led to a nice conversation with her about our religious choices, but I did have a small chuckle to myself.

This weekend is DS1's first high school cross-country MTB meet. We are leaving this afternoon and staying overnight, tomorrow is race day all day, and we'll get home late tomorrow night. It is supposed to rain all day today and tomorrow.
I don't wanna.

I’m dreading the day when DS starts asking me questions of what I’ve done. My honest to a fault ways might start a changing. My mom had a real advantage because she was such a goodie two shoes that she never had to lie. Me on the other hand:

And I did find the book at the town library and dropped it off at school for him. I debated it but I had to bring my little kid's lunch anyway and the school is on my way. He has such anxiety over making mistakes and what he imagines to be consequences of those mistakes and maybe it would have been better for him to deal with the consequences, which would have been pretty minor, but I also felt bad because it was completely my fault.

I have one from a few weeks ago. On Valentine’s Day I posted a mushy pic of me and my H about how we’ve had 14 valentines days together now. And tagged the wrong man, and didn’t realize until the next day. Sorry random guy, hope I didn’t piss anybody off 😬 (he blocked me 😂)

I lie to my oldest (almost 14 and pretty sheltered in terms of his friend group) all the time about drugs and alcohol. I don't say I didn't do them but I say I started trying them when I was older than I was, and that I used them less than I did. But we're having nice open conversations about drugs and alcohol and why I think it's important to wait as long as possible. Which is the important thing to me right now. My mom is a recovering alcoholic and was always really honest with me without getting into details and I appreciated that as a kid and did listen.
I am however honest about starting smoking cigarettes at 18 and how dumb it was because it totally was.
It was a different time when H and I were growing up and my kids couldn't have the same relatively safe experiences we did with the way life is today.
But when they're much older I'll let them in on the full truth.

My mom had a real advantage because she was such a goodie two shoes that she never had to lie. Me on the other hand: I found out my mom had lied to me when my uncle spilled the beans about her. I was not an awful teen, but I got into some trouble. And he was pissed that she acted like an angel while punishing me for doing nothing worse than she had done and acting like she hadn't. Typical little brother. SD really is a goodie two shoes (idk where she got that from, because it is none of her parents) so I've not had to deal with that yet. I have a feeling that DS will be my shenanigator.

Our house doesn’t have a doorbell. Funny that hasn’t been on our fix it list for the past nine years. 🤷🏻♀️

I’m officially referring to tomorrow as my midlife crisis day. I have a hair appointment where i will be chopping it off and going as light as possible. Then I have an appointment to get my nose, helix, and two additional lobe piercings.

It was never repaired, even when we put the house on the market. Archie was in for the shock of his life when he heard it at the new house for the first time. He didn't know wtf that was or what it meant. Unfortunately he learned quickly.

We Almost always answer the door. But it's almost always somebody we know. Or the nice lds guys who randomly show up and offer to do yard work like pulling weeds. Guess we are now the old people that the church sends people to go check on them.
