Omg DO IT! I got mine done 3ish years ago. Have not regretted it a day since and wish I had done it way before. I had planned to do one last year but my H said it will just look like Iβm having a midlife crisis. Boo to him. In the end I thought having a little knob inside my nose would drive me nuts. Also, I donβt remember you having a nose ring!! Off to look at pictures. Mine is a little gold hoop. Doesnβt bother me at all. Tell your H to stuff it! Go get one. Youβd look amazing with one!!

This feels like a situation specific issue, not a general "it's rude when kids call." Thats true.... I think I'm just grumpy and burnt out. It's been a long week Yeah, any time a kid has called my phone from an adult's phone, it's been because they don't have their own phone and my kid doesn't have a phone, so if I answer, it's been, Hi this is Annie, Kate's friend, could I talk to Kate please? And then the kids talk and make plans. And my kids know to ask me outside of earshot of any other kids about plans. But my kids both have phones now so it's been a while since this has happened. I can't imagine a scenario where a kid would bypass asking my kid and ask me directly about plans. If my kid isn't answering me, my bff's kids might have my bff message me (and I do the same to her), but that is normal for us. As for opening the door, I feel like having 2 really barky dogs works in our favor for solicitors. The dogs alert me to anyone who is at the door well before they actually ring, then I check our camera. I do feel the need to actually open the door and talk to people, but by the time I shoo the dogs outside so they don't attack the people (it would be with kisses and tail wags, but they don't know that), I literally just open the door, poke my head out, let them say who they are, and as long as they aren't like the water company/gas company/cable company who need to check something (we've had this pretty often lately), I seriously cut them off as soon as they say what they are selling and say 'we're not interested, thanks' and shut the door, then let the dogs back in. Works well to get them to go away quickly.

The snack sign up for baseball just went out, and I grabbed the slot for Tuesday evening and announced that I was bringing pizza and Gatorade. The confession is that I blatantly ignored the mom who asked that all snacks be healthy.

I had my nose pierced in college. It was a little diamond stud and actually had a twisted rod so it sat flat against the inside of my nostril. Not annoying at all in that sense. It was super cute.
I remember it not hurting much at all either and the recovery was easy and quick. I had my tongue pierced around the same time and that one was awful

I mentioned the nose piercing to DH last night and he wasn't phased at all. I think that was my green light.

It used to bother me but I have learned to give 0 fucks about answering my door, even if people can see me or my kids. We have a doorbell camera but sometimes they can see someone through our picture window or if I have the screen on the door opened (but door is still locked cuz I can't do unlocked doors). I mean people should really know everyone hates being bothered at home. Sales, religion, whatever it is. It shouldn't be surprising when people don't answer Same. People have cell phones, no reason to just show up on my doorstep and for solicitors there are other ways to sell your stuff that don't involve you on my porch.

Went down to the restaurant today to pick up food and ended up serving tables for 45m (and see my husband who had been there since 8am in a blizzard who was also there from 10-10 yesterday. ) The kids refused to get dressed and come, which has been their MO this week. And of course it turns out the fireplace fan was plugged into the same surge protector as the router and the power back up, so I couldnβt get ahold of them, because it was an old one and blew itself out of commission. π€¦ββοΈ Thankfully our neighbor and his teenage girls walked over to check on them. But now we have a new power grid set up and Iβm calling on Monday to scrap the wifi only house phone (no hard lines here) and setting up a house only cell. Weβve gotten 5 feet since Thursday and are supposed to get another 12-24 tomorrow into Monday. This was just Friday night into this morning.

I'm a strict plane about meal planning and I likely would have something prepared already or a plan in place so I'd be annoyed with 5pm pizza (or is it 6:30 pm pizza? when do they snack) as well, but generally my rigidity in this area is a me issue, and I'm working on it.

I actually wouldn't be annoyed about the pizza
I think asking for a healthy snack is a lot too. Like that's so subjective and you can't really control what others bring. Eat it or don't
But I can see the annoyance at more of a meal than snack, but I totally would have taken advantage of not having to feed them dinner so again I don't think I'd mind that part lol

Kinda depends on how much pizza is gonna arrive at the GAme. With my kids around that age seems there's never quite enough pizza.

I think the "healthy" snack request is annoying and pizza as a snack close to dinner time is fine by me.

I am very un-scandalized by pizza as a snack, especially at 6:30 pm.
I am also pro-team snacks in general, though. For us, itβs almost 3 hours from beginning of warm up to end of game. A snack is fine.

I was actually going to bring pizza as a post game meal last Wednesday, splitting between me and a friend from the other team (it was the other 10U team in our league, so we thought it would be fun to have the kids eat together after). But we decided against it only bc the game ended at 6, and it would have been too dark to see while they were eating. We donβt have lights on that field.
So I did some light snacks instead.
