MIL got me a couple months of Aardvark books for Xmas. I'm excited for them to put up January.
I have 2 books I need to finish (one audio, one physical) before New Year's day in order to hit 50

Read Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin this month and it was really great. Highly recommend. I did cry a couple times, but I’m an easy crier.
Currently reading The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride and I Swear: Politics is Messier Than My Minivan by Katie Porter. I just love Katie Porter, she’s very relatable.

I finished The Dark Bones and it was pretty good but I enjoyed The Dark Lure more. I gave it 3.5 stars. I'm definitely going to pick you more books by this author. I'm listening to Those Empty Eyes and it's good so far, I'm about 25% into it. I am halfway through The Dark Bones and feel the same. I am not reading Those Empty Eyes but am reading another Charlie Donlea, Twenty Years Later and am loving it. These two authors were great finds! They are! I'm glad you got me reading them 😊 I apparently had some of both of their books on my TBR (The Patient's Secret, The Maid's Diary, and Twenty Years Later) for a while but never got around to them.

Haven’t read anything too good lately. Just a few forgettable Christmas novellas.
Now I am reading another Carissa Broadbent book, slaying the vampire conqueror. I love how her books suck you right in.

I haven’t checked in for a bit but I finished The Amish Wife by Gregg Olsen which was a long read for me because true crime journalism always takes me a bit to fully digest with all the facts and people and stuff. But Gregg never disappoints. It was compelling and so sad. 4 stars.
Then I just finished book 4 of the Irish village murders, Murder in An Irish Pub. 5 stars because they are just so enjoyable and cozy, as always.
And I officially hit 100 books read for the year! Just in time.

I started The Last Love Note last night and finished it up this morning. So sad, but so well done.

I finished The Fabric of Our Souls, and it was awful. It has over 4 stars on good reads, and it’s hailed as a darkly romantic, emotional, “you will cry” book with trigger warnings galore.
Maybe I’m broken, but it was haphazardly put together, the plot was completely unbelievable, and I didn’t shed one tear.
2 stars. That was a crappy way to end the year.

I finished Inheritance and of course it ended on a cliff hanger
I’m also half way through a Good Girl’s guide to murder and should finish it before Monday so I can start 2024 with a new book!

Im trying again on The Love Experiment. I’m looking forward to January and some of the thrillers that will be released!
DD has read the entire Divergent series this break and now is starting on Eragon. I guess she just needed a break from HG Wells and Charles Dickens to remember reading is fun! She hasn’t read a book for fun since August until now. I love break. It went too fast.

I hit my reading goal of 125 books in the nick of time. I finished with a novella, Veronica Ruiz Breaks the Bank. It’s a prequel to the Finlay Donovan books. It was entertaining! And quick to borrow from the library on Libby. I was able to switch between listening and reading.
I am still working my way through Lady Tan’s Circle of Women (loving it, just tough to pick up hardback books right now) and also picked up Never Lie by Freida McFadden.
I think I’m going to listen to A Court of Mist and Fury next. Now I can start the longer books lol.

I’m starting Argylle on audiobook while I get the house in order today. It’s rumored to be written by Taylor Swift and the movie based on the book by this “debut” author is out in February.

I went down the rabbit hole on this one recently. I have doubts that it’s by Taylor but it’s an interesting theory. And what a way to generate buzz!

I’m ending 2023 with 75 books read for the year. Looking back it was an enjoyable year! I don’t really do resolutions but I want to read some genres I usually stay away from next year. (Prompted by trying Fourth Wing. Which led to Iron Flame and then Fireborne) I haven’t really read mysteries (except a few Nancy Drew 😂 when I was young) so I might start there.

I finished Tower of Dawn and Red Raising today.
I really enjoyed Tower of Dawn, maybe more than most of the other ToG books. I think maybe I just don’t love Aelin as a character.
Red Rising was also good, I wasn’t sure at first but enjoyed it by the end. It’s very Hunger Games ish

I'm ended the year having read 126 books. I could still squeak another one out tonight if I try hard enough, but I probably won't.
I feel great about my reading this year!
