Morning all!
Just having some breakfast and listening to B 'teach' J how to play with lego duplo. 'Here's how you make a ginormous biggest tower ever Julia, ok, are you listening?' Then she throws a piece at him. Lol. These two.

vino That is so cute!! H was saying that AB and AV (in their current stage) remind him of the sleepwalking scene on Step Brothers. If you haven't seen it then I'm sorry for the reference but he's absolutely right. J throwing the piece is what reminded me of that lol. Happy Friday goldenlove !!

Hey all! Happy Friday from my office. Well technically my cube. Just waiting on my manager to do these meetings so I can find out my fate!
Then lunch. Then early 'diamissal' to which H is accompanying me and we will have an adult beverage followed by Tagret trip followed by the cycling fundraiser opening ceremony thingy (aka more drinks for mom).

Then she throws a piece at him. Lol. These two. Do all the rough moments disappear a bit during times like that? Because that made me smile just to read. And also wish I had someone teach me how to make a ginormous biggest tower ever. Sounds really impressive. Resume worthy. Omg can you imagine if we made resumes for our kids based off of the stuff they did and said.

Morning! Just enjoying coffee and watching GMA with L. She's currently trying to rip the earring out of my ear!
H is off today so we're going to head to the EAA - fest? grounds? I honestly don't know what it is, but it's an airplane thing. H made the plans after not liking my idea of going to German Fest and eating my weight in strudel. I'm sure E will like it because there will be airplanes but I really just wanted some strudel. H said he looked online and has all the info so that means we have no real plan except to see some airplanes. I'll report back 😉

Good luck kleigh! Will be thinking about you! Is there a direction that you're hoping the meeting moves towards? ETA Dying at thinking about your babies and the Stepbrothers scene.

tjanca22 I'm a bit salty with your H. How does he not know that eating your weight in strudel is always the better option?!

Trying to figure out what we are doing today. DH is out getting my fob batteries replaced and I'm trying to get J down for a nap but he's refusing.
Today is the last day of leap 6. I cannot wait for this leap to be over. It's been rough.

Morning.
I'm a bit of a grump today. I feel like we're getting the run-around with this stupid truck and I just want all my stuff (:throws self to floor and thrashes like toddler: ) I'm so sick and tired of feeling disorganized, and I'm sure everyone in my life is tired of hearing about it. All these problems would be solved if they would just show up.
I think we're going out for seafood tonight; I need an adult beverage or seven, too.
Ok, going to try and be positive now. :deep breaths:

Can everyone TTMA toy storage real quick...
Bins that you can't see the toys, but also can't be easily accessed by kids...
Or the open at the bottom variety that be easily rummaged through?

sophiegrace lol to the resume building! L has 8 months on the job experience. She excels in crawling. Proficient in eating table food but is willing to accept further responsibility in this area. Her current tasks consist of pooping 2-3 times a day, putting everything into her mouth and drooling in puddles on the floor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

tjanca22 I'm a bit salty with your H. How does he not know that eating your weight in strudel is always the better option?! Not to mention Black Forest cake and German beer. Trust me, H knows he took away my strudel. That was the first thing out of my mouth when he changed the plans on me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

vino that is seriously adorable!! Good luck today kleigh! sophiegrace This is what we have right now but it's quickly overflowing. It just sits on my fireplace so not meant for him to go through. I'm curious what works best as he gets older and mobile.

We have some of both, I guess. B has a wooden toybox in his room that holds big stuff and just the variety of junk that kids collect. I purge every so often to get rid of happy meal toys, etc. He also has a white cubby thing with fabric bins in it, in which I try to keep things like his train, cars, toy animals, etc. sorted and organized. I left a few cubbies open for things like puzzles/games, etc. He's somewhat meticulous so it stays pretty tidy. He just pulls a bin out as he wants to play with whatever is in it (that's probably a bit beyond the N16 crowd at this point). I keep a basket in the family room with C's stuff (stacking rings, fabric blocks, ball, etc). Does that help at all?

sophiegrace I just went to Ross/Marshalls/Home Goods and bought fabric bins. I do have 1 very large basket in the living room for bigger toys but most of M's stuff is separated into decorative baskets in her play room.

flamingo and goldenlove thank you. We have a tricky area where we want to put something. There's currently a long, low IKEA storage thing that you put bins in, but it got damaged in our move two years ago and we want to move it to the lesser used/seen sunroom. We have two bins for toys currently, but I would like just a bit more space to shove stuff. My problem is the window. Is it ok to obstruct it? Its nonfunctional and for some reason there so that you can look into the sunroom so idk if putting something higher up would look strange. ETA thank you tgrimes as well

sophiegrace I have a standard toy box, a toy shelf with the bins in it, a wicker basket full of toys, and toys on the floor. Basically I'm no help (but I don't mind having toys everywhere). I used a (teenage) babysitter for the first time today! I was nervous. DH was more nervous than me lol. It was just an hour and a half so I could go to Yoga. It went really well so it MAY become a semi-regular occurrence (just for daytime though, not even DH has managed bedtime with H yet).

You could also build a low book shelf with a bench top and make it a reading spot.

We can put premade furniture together without threatening divorce and H is now proficient at finding the studs in the walls to properly hang stuff. As long you never ever expose that area of wall again. I like the bench idea! Reading is my favorite and I'm really hoping that M has the love for it as well.

sophiegrace, I have several different things that I use. I have one like the toy bin that goldenlove posted that I use for Megablocks, then I have another one like it but it says "books" and I keep some of his books it. Both of those are in front of the fireplace we never use. Then I have two of these cotton rope bins. One is used for all of his small trucks, cars and trains and the other is used for just random toys. I just put them in out of the way corners. I wish I had the space for a bigger toy chest for his large trucks, but right now I just line them all up under his train table.

Oh, we also have the little cubby thing that you have from IKEA as well. We put fabric bins in it, but I don't use it for toy storage. I have one bin for kid shoes, one for extra clothes and another for diapers/pull ups and wipes and one for MH's video games.

Hai!!
Last night my dinner consisted of cookie dough and pie, because I'm an adult.
We're doing a potluck at work today for a manager's birthday, so I'm looking forward to that. Then later this evening I'm getting my hair done! I can't wait!! I actually have a shit ton of work to get through today, so hopefully that'll make the day go by fast.

sophiegrace I have two play areas in the house with storage: This is upstairs in the corner of our living room And this is the downstairs play area, don't mind the cardboard box, it's B's rocket ship and he insists he 'is going to the moon so I can't give it to the garbage man quite yet'

I actually want to start building some furniture myself. Now that we will have a workshop. I dunno. Part of me thinks buying old furniture and refinishing it and making it fabulous would be a neat side gig. I have dreams and zero time, you know.
