classymrsa 3 has definitely been an interesting year. I love that B has gained independence and much more verbal and can have a conversation, and he cracks us up on a daily basis. That part of it is a ton of fun. But he can be exasperating, has boundless energy, and definitely tests boundaries. Among my friends' kids, I see the little girls 'rebelling' (for lack of a better word) more verbally...back-talk, sass, and attitudes. The boys tend to do it more physically...doing things they're not supposed to (jumping/climbing, hitting, kicking). Sounds like Lillian is right on target for her age, for better or worse Re: cabinets, I don't mind two-tone, but I am very wary of doing anything too trendy with cabinetry bc it's so much more permanent (than some updates you could make) and more expensive to replace. ETA: our backsplash was relatively inexpensive to do and totally changed the look of our kitchen, as did adding undercabinet lights. If we hadn't had to move, my plan was to have the cabinets painted off-white, but even just updating the tile made me like the cabinetry more. Just a thought

sophiegrace Thank you! I wasn't looking for it to go any particular way but was prepared to be called back to the office full time which would result in us having to drastically overhaul our current childcare arrangement. Edit tag

Sooooo it was just a team meeting to discuss changing policy/procedures (of our systems) I'm so confused. I swear the meeting was supposed to include semi annual reviews. But was not about to ask for one and let the subject of me WFH come up so, team meeting it is! My manager did mention that the other dept (for which the jealous bitches work) are "piloting" a remote working ability - employees will be given one or two allowances a month as needed/requested or sumshit. So maybe the complaints will stop? I don't know. He let us out early. I'm just sitting here enjoying my margarita and gonna KOKO.

Re storage I currently just use a big tote in but it's admittedly ugly AF and I'll be replacing it with something hopefully cuter soon.
Re working with H, we work pretty well together, I mean we collaborated on the house together and pretty much tore down walls and rebuilt side by side. That said, you throw heat and bugs and scary things in the mix then I think we'd be toast - so no AR for us.

flamingo I basically want to redo the whole kitchen. I want to have a mint backsplash eventually. This is what it looks like currently. Please excuse the mess.

kleigh I'm jealous of your margarita. Not nearly enough tequila. But that's ok. Home with the kids until MIL arrives and then over to the BBQ ceremony thing with H where I'll make up for it there.

classymrsa, I like different colored upper and lower cabinets. I'm also partial to white kitchens. Have you thought about a color other than white? Like grey or even a pale green or blue? Eta: I see you want a mint backsplash, so probably no on green or blue cabinets. I would go light and do white or grey or both and then maybe a darker tile.

I'm gonna take down the lady who left her SUV running while she is shopping. Bitch, have you heard of GLOBAL WARMING! Someone will bail me out right? ...did she leave her kids or an animal in the car or just like, didn't want to get into a hot car because she is a snowflake? Total special snowflake. If there were animals or kids I would have called the police.

Omg, mH and I would fail miserably at Amazing Race. We do pretty well at travelling, but lol to projects. And DNW to see us on camera getting all bitchy at each other. +1 to this We actually have used it as a marriage check in every once in a while and say 'huh that went well, you think we could do amazing race together yet?' Spoiler: the answer is always no. No way. Nadda. Nope.

Just got caught up and now I'm going to take a power nap before I have to get ready to leave for the Sox game. One of H's clients is taking us in a luxury box--woo! Free food and booze, here I come!

Another longer day! Weight watchers weight in down another 2.2 for a total of 14.8! I have lost 5% of my start weight. We signed L up for a passport. We're not going anywhere but if I sign up for a Disney cruise, I can put his information in right away versus going oh no! lol
Last night L was a nightmare. No afternoon nap, so we tried bed early... nope wasn't having it. When I got him down, he woke up at 10pm, 1:30am, and was up for the day at 6am!?! Then following the senate bill stuff on politics board had my stomach in knots.

jubilantsquirrel I've definitely considered grey and I've liked blue cabinets in pictures I've seen. I worry about colors though. My living room is mint, teal, brown, and cream.

Anyone else's baby constantly into trouble? My goodness C is so naughty. Thing is he knows it too. He loves to crawl on my dog it's a big no no so ill pick him up take him across the house and give him a toy. Nope he turns around and crawls straight back to the dog laughing the whole time. He laughs when I tell him no and falls flat to the floor when I come get him! Its kind of hilarious now but I am in for so much trouble...

I really liked the seafoam, but for some reason I had a hard time finding accent colors to go with it. Speaking of mint, I think I've shared some pictures of a mint colored glass subway tile backsplash. Is that what you're thinking for your kitchen?

I think I'm struggling with it because I was redoing the kitchen at our old house when we had to move. I had put in white cabinets, grey tile, and a grey Silestone countertop. Mint glass tile for the backsplash was the last step...obviously didn't do it though since we were moving.

I think that would look really great in your kitchen space!

tjanca22, I want eat my way through strudel and pretzels! lol DH wouldn't mind if they had Bier! lol flamingo, I feel like those moving truck companies know they can screw you because they know they have your life! @vini, I have left vehicles running but usually someone (mom) or dog(s) are in it! Otherwise, I just leave a few windows open. ETA: only to run in to get their food but usually because I need 2 35lbs bags at one time! I miss world market! Closest one is over 1.5 hours away! Re: working with H; I have and find our work styles compliment each other in engineering and house stuff. We did great driving from Maine to Texas, Texas to WA, and from WA to NH. But I think we'd fight during Amazing Race but because we're both competitive and I get bossy. Also big no to bugs for me, and heights for DH.

I have white uppers and wood lowers and I think it looks good. Our house was updated when we moved in. I don't know if I would have chosen it, but I like it now. If I could ever figure out how to get a pic from imgur to here I would share. But as evidenced by my inability earlier, you will not see it.

Add D to the no nap club. She refused to go down for my nanny this morning while I was at Orangetheory. I got her to sleep for an hour and 40 when I got back but she just screamed and screamed for her second naptime and when I left the house an hour ago she still hadn't gone down. Nanny will put her down around 6:30 I guess. I hope this doesn't mean she'll be waking up a ton in the night 😕
