So today is day 25 of my 30 day fitness challenge. I'm *fairly* certain I'm the only one still actually doing it (I'm the only person who has checked in every day), but I may actually have to bow out. I hate to quit this close to the end, but the nubers are just not realistic and are really starting to hurt my joints (and a fitness challenge is so not worth a flare up).

My appointment isn't for another hour and half. Can I offer you some wine to help pass the time?

It's awesome that you have kept up with it so far!! Can you try easing back rather than stopping outright and see if that helps?

Oh I would if I could jubilantsquirrel! It's a bit expensive to do everything so I was thinking about just painting the uppers. Speaking of mint things and projects, I made these! Just the mint ones. And yeah, my couch needs a bath. Lol.

It has squats, lunges, crunches, and push ups. It was really cool starting off, but the numbers are just jumping way too high this last week. Like today I was supposed to do 220 squats (plus everything else). I don't know about anyone else, but going from 50 squats on day 1 to 220 on day 25 just seems crazy (also because I feel like its stupid to do it if you don't have decent form, and it's pretty impossible for a newb to do that many squats keeping good form).

Thanks! And I forgot to ask, I think I need this cookie recipe. Sure! I usually double this recipe so I can make big cookies. I also typed this from memory, so I might need to come back and edit. 1 3/4 c flour 1/2 tsp baking powder 14 tbsp unsalted butter 3/4 c dark brown sugar 1/2 c granulated sugar 1 tsp salt 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 whole egg and 1 egg yolk Chocolate chips or chocolate chunks (I also throw in peanut butter chips) Pre-heat oven to 375 In medium bowl whisk together flour and baking powder, set aside. In a medium sauce pan, melt 10 tbsp butter over medium high heat. Stirring until it starts to turn golden brown and has a toffee smell (takes ~2 minutes with gas range). Transfer to mixing bowl and add remaining 4 tbsp of butter and stir until it's melted. Add brown sugar, sugar, salt vanilla and eggs and mix on medium until combined. Let set for 3 minutes and mix again for 30 seconds, let set for another 3 minutes, mix for 30 seconds one last time and let set for 3 minutes (so 30 mix, 3 set x 3 times). Using rubber attachment (or spatula) stir in flour and baking powder until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. I make big cookies, so I use about 1 1/2 tbsp of dough and roll into a ball, place about 2in apart on baking sheet. Bake for ~10 minutes or until cookies are golden brown and puffy in the middle. Pull out and let set for 5 mins, transfer to cooling rack.

K is hysterical. I thought she was getting over her regression but this is the third time we've had to intervene because she's just screaming in her crib for no apparent reason.
I'm nursing her now because I have no idea what else to do.

Well my day was... interesting. So J finally went down at 10 and we were waiting, and waiting, and waiting for him to wake up so we could run all these errands but he slept til 12:30. So we shortened our errand list and decided on one store and then go out to lunch at this new joint we've been eyeing.
We walk in and it smells like dirty dish water. We should have left right there but I'm too nice. We sit and the table is sticky and gross. The high chairs are from like 1920 and all the buckles were broken. J kept trying to eat the straps and I was gagging. We order B some chickens fingers (the only item on the kids menu without cheese) and grab beers. DH and I just order some apps to share because at this point it's already 1:30. The chicken fingers come out steaming so I cut one in half to let it cool. Fucking raw inside. I tell the waitress and she brings it back to the kitchen. B is now starving, overtired, and trying to break out of the high chair. DH is so aggravated and pissed he says he's never taking a day off again (😂😂). Our food comes, we ordered nachos and it's literally tortilla chips with melted cheese and sliced tomatoes. Like from the microwave. I barely ate anything. It was awful.
To top it all off, they never comped anything nor did the cook, who was back and fort from the kitchen and the restaurant area chatting with regulars, come out and say anything to us. I've never worked in the restaurant industry so maybe im out of line but when your order gets messed up you usually get comped. Our food was fucking raw. All the waitress said was "the cook is apologetic". Um no. Luckily I cut them in half. Imagine if he was 6 and just bit into it and ate it. I'm still so grossed out! And I'm sure they spit into our food once we brought it back! Haha.

Ugh starbuck, I'm so sorry. I'm going through something similar with O even though he's never STTN. He gets so hysterical when I try to first put him down, I don't know what to do either. waitwhat, that's so gross! I would think they would have comped your meal too. Once H and I found a plastic bottle cap in our nachos. We were almost done when we discovered it and let the server know, we actually weren't even upset, just like "hey, I think you guys are missing a cap". But they apologized profusely, brought out new nachos, comped the meal and have us a gift certificate. They should have done something for you guys.

She had to CIO tonight. We really tried not to. We're at MIL's tonight (she is OOT and we are trying to get the kids used to being here). So at least we could separate her from the others for her meltdown extravaganza.

Hi! Cheshie6 way to go on the weight loss, that's awesome! jubilantsquirrel eagerly awaiting the new 'do. I love big hair changes. We went to an oyster bar on the Chesapeake Bay for dinner. I had one of their signature drinks (something called a crush...mine was cherry lemonade with lots of vodka) and it was possibly the best thing ever. Then we stopped at DQ for blizzards. And the pool is finally ready and our stuff is coming tomorrrrrrrow!!! So basically it turned out to be a pretty good day.

Omg waitwhat I'm gagging. WTF. starbuck do you mind me asking how long it took before she calmed down? flamingo...Chesapeake Bay? Drinking a crush? You sound like you're right down the street from me! But IIRC you're on the southern side of the Bay Tunnel Bridge, right?

sophiegrace we gave her 20-minute intervals tonight. She actually fell out the first time I put her down but woke up after only 30min and then it started. So 3x we went and spent 10-15 minutes rocking her until she was calm and dozing but not totally out. After the third time of rocking followed by crying I nursed her and rocked again, then she cried another 15 before going to sleep. She's been sleeping for a few hours now. I do CIO but I will go in if kiddo is getting really worked up about it, if I think it's pretty clear they aren't capable of going down on their own, or if it's going on too long with no improvement.
