Please tell me there was a deep dive on the Reformation. not even a little bit, but the Latin Mass people are very Team Kate, which should surprise almost no one. Oh, I thought this was going to be about KC3’s coronation being invalid due to him admitting his adultery. My Catholic Twitter skews very liberal, although a few did surprise me when Benedict died. |

My TT is food, thrifting, and knitting based. But there they were. If I TT'd, I'd like my feed to be knitting, cats, and manicures. Based on my algorithm of the reels and shit that comes across instagram mine is animals, pimple popping, ballet, and interior design 😅🤣 |

that’s honestly one thing I’ve learned about myself from this thread — I guess I’m secretly a dinosaur but I follow very few people on Instagram (really my only social media site) that aren’t people I don’t actually know. Or like, businesses I patronize. I get all of my news aggregation stuff from substack and podcasts, but I have literally no involvement with the comments on either. I did want to start a niche Twitter where I rewrote important church documents in haiku form, though. Maybe I should. Would follow. |

OMG somebody gets me. The look on people's faces when I end up having to explain the whole thing through whatever conversational garden path we go down....lol. . I could never be an Anabaptist, but there’s a lot about the Mennonite Theology that I find very beautiful. It is! I know very little of the theology besides pacifism, but I was surprised to read that the Amish split off from them back in the day instead of vice versa. |

I’m not saying that, just describing how *I* have had control over what *I* see. You really don’t have to take everything personally. I'm not taking it personally. But I find Harry to be a bit white savior-y and also still fixated on the idea and ideal of his mother, so I shan't pass him a cookie for his relatively new wokeness and need to demonstrate it. I agree but I’m also trying to explain from a white woman who had a close family member do racist things not even on that level the lengths I went to. I’m sure Harry is doing a lot that he doesn’t need to and this is not a defense of Harry post just that I feel like I was him for a bit. Although not 2 years later but I still watch and more so it’s probably that people just know not to say things to me |

I know it’s not all twitter but a lot are saying the only racist in the family is Harry because of his Hitler costume.
This could be why they feel the need to explain when they really should just be ignoring

I get it I really really do I know. And I totally understand that you see this through your lived experience, and I know that you have talked openly about the pain and sadness in your family relationships as a result of the boundaries you've needed to set. I care so much about you and I don't want you to feel like I'm invalidating that. I really, really value your voice in these conversations. You know I love and respect you. Truly, I have had hard conversations with my husband about his white male privilege because it's important. |

Truly, I have had hard conversations with my husband about his white male privilege because it's important. I appreciate it! I don’t want to come off as a white savior myself so I am listening as well. I think my main thing is that it’s probably best they stop talking and put their money/ talk/time where it counts. The BRF and their fans will never see what is being said. I know it’s easier said than done but they can still educate and help the issues alongside those who care about the issues. For me I followed my husband’s lead. Yes I said what I felt necessary but when he was done I was done and I hope Harry is following Meghan’s lead with all of this. We still spend time with my family because my h wants to but I’m ready at any point to cut that again if needed |

Harry is just acting #new. Instead of being able to process his trauma and beginning his anti-racism work in private with close friends kind enough to call you in, he’s having to establish a new, independent, public identity AND hustle/strike while the iron is hot. And zero judgement there, it’s a timing issue more than anything else as well as his responsibility as a privileged, rich, famous white dude to speak on these issues. I’m also trying to give him a little grace bc I think a lot of white people with BIPOC family members go through this phase of unlearning and have to figure out how not to center themselves and their experience, myself included.
That being said, it will be nice when he can stop talking about himself so much and swing primary focus to the issues that he obviously cares about. I feel like MM has been able to find a nice balance and I’m really excited for her to grow her brand.

To this point and one earlier in the thread, the hero/victim/white savior persona have been strategically used by all of the adults in his life from the beginning of time. It’s all he knows to do. He needs to be careful to use his public persona for the benefit of communities that have been actual victims of the privileges that he literally is a poster boy for. This was the cause of a memorable blow up over on GD, but being married to a POC does not make you a POC by proxy. You need to be their support, but it's not your lived experience.
