That seems to be a consistent issue with every contestant - they either have the look or the taste but not both. Maxy and Sandro will definitely be in the top 4. I really like Kevin for some reason even though all of his stuff doesn't seem up to par. I'd like to see Dawn get out of her head and make it further cause she seems to always have great tastes. ETA: And Janusz will be top 4 too. I think the only thing that saved Dawn last week was that her bakes tasted delicious! It's been a theme for her at least two weeks in a row, and it's too bad, I like her ideas and the flavor combos when she talks about them!

I think the top 4 are Maxy, Sandro, Syabira, and Janusz. Could not guess a top 3 or winner right now, though. Looking forward to seeing Halloween week tomorrow! I feel like by now (generally), I can say who will be top 4, top 3, and then a guess at the winner (like BLANK OR BLANK will win) and I would agree with your top 4, but no guesses beyond that.

I really liked Carole. She made me think of a mix of my aunt and Professor Sprout. She was just too much in her head.

Paul with the giggles this week had me laughing! He gets such a twinkle in his eye sometimes. Tough week, but no surprises.

It was really weird watching them make s’mores and not having any idea what they were. That’s just such a staple here!

The theme for the holiday show at my girls’ dance studio this year is The Great Holiday Baking Show. Wondering if we’re going to get kids dressed up as Noel and Paul for the drama portions!

When they started the s’mores challenge I was thinking it was like who could make the best ones the fastest or something. Didn’t realize they were going to get all fancy.

We don't watch until Sunday mornings here and it's taking ALL of my willpower now to read this thread.

We frequently do s’mores over the fire with the neighborhood kids. My DD is really into watching this show with me. She was like, “They have to make the cracker? And the chocolate? And the marshmallow?!” She identified with Dawn when she said she usually would just go to the store to buy the “biscuits.” I don’t think making a s’more from scratch is something that DD could fathom.
Sandro is so hungry for a handshake and star baker. I could see it in his eyes when both Maxy and Syarbira got one. I feel like his competitiveness is kicking in and going to start propelling him forward.
I rolled my eyes at Prue when she said the big skull ruined his cake.
Dawn just lacked confidence! She seems like she is a fun lady.

There had to be some kind of "challenge" to all the steps.

I liked this episode. The fancy s'mores were fun and something I could definitely see myself doing. We've bought the "homemade" marshmallows from a local bakery here when it's just my little family of 5 and I am the queen of smore bars over the summer/into the fall. If I wasn't making hot cocoa bombs for Christmas at MIL's, I'd probably make a massive smore bar for then, too, since she has a lovely nature wood fireplace that she always has going.
I think this week is going to be Kevin's week to go and then Abdul next week, but I could also see Abdul have a really good week as a whole and then someone else having a bad week and him making it to the top 4, but I couldn't guess who would have the bad week.

I agree with everything here. Absent some surprise, I think Kevin is next, then Abdul. At this point it seems like Janusz is edging everyone else out with his consistency but the other 3 (maxy, sandro, syabira) are all really neck and neck too.

Or just have picked something else. Meh, they're supposed to do things out of their comfort zone and s'mores fall into that category, specifically when they're having to make the marshmallows and biscuits from scratch and then topping with ganache that is difficult to get the requested consistency. Is it our traditional s'mores? No. Were they still a challenge? Absolutely. ETA: it's also a mind game. You hear s'more and you think simple, but actual execution is definitely more difficult than you'd expect.

I do really miss the hard challenges. Like the meat pies? The little nun things they had to make? It seems like it's been made easier?

To me, Abdul is the dark horse. He gets very little screen time, but he’s funny and he’s had some really good bakes. There was a signature recently where Paul just gushed about whatever he made and I was surprised there was no handshake. So he might pop up and surprise us.
But it does seem like Janusz, Maxy, Syabira and Sandro are in a different league to Kevin and Abdul.

I think if Abdul makes it to the top 4, it'll be Maxy or Syabira who is not.

So far I've managed to not spoil myself on Twitter, but the official GBBO account is sharing some really good memes from this weeks show.

So I'm not surprised it was Kevin but was actually expecting it to be Janusz after the showstoppers. I thought flavor would beat out look.
I almost added a 'Thank you, First Name Last Name' after this post because I have done nothing but send emails all day today.
