I finished Never Go Back (Jack Reacher) it was only ok, nowhere near as good as Killing Floor or The Enemy but enjoyable enough.
I think I’ll start Cop Town by Karin Slaughter next.

I didn't like Beartown. I might be alone on that bench.

I finished A Flicker in the Dark. I'm really easy to please when it comes to thrillers but this one felt pretty weak to me. There were a couple of glaring problems with the plot and the writing was laughably bad at times.
I started The Rose Code and I'm completely hooked!

I finished my ARC of The Woman In the Library and loved it! 5 stars. My only complaint is the ending felt a little rushed.
I also read an arc of The Sizzle Conplex and that one wasn't for me. 2 stars. The characters annoyed me and the miscommunication was too much.
I have one more arc, Cult Classic, I need to read and then I'll be through them all.
I'm about 1/3 into Dead Silence and still loving it. Hoping I get time to finish today.

I finished The Long Call by Anne Cleeves and started the next in the series. I really enjoyed it and didn’t guess all of the twists. It did wrap up a bit too quickly in the end and I had some questions but maybe I will find answers in the second one.
I also read A Good Girls Guide to Murder and loved it. Often in thrillers I feel like I’m yelling “how did you not put that together” at the main character but I felt like my thoughts aligned and I was surprised at parts. I also related a lot to the main characters personality.

So often I roll my eyes because they don’t put the obvious clues together, so I appreciate an astute investigator lol. I am liking the current book I’m reading (The Darkest Web) for the same reason, same lawyer protagonist as The Darkest Flower, and I think she may continue writing more.

I cancelled a bunch of my holds on Libby because I had to keep pushing them back and it was making me anxious every time a new one came in. I kept the few I had for my reading challenges and tagged the rest as to read.
Currently listening to Danny Trejo’s autobiography.
I can’t remember everything I’ve read since I last posted. I did finish The Astronaut and the Star. Probably should have DNF’d because it was horrible. My first one star read of the year. I have yet to choose a decent Amazon monthly freebie.
Oh I also have to rave about the Heartstopper show on Netflix. They really did the books justice, probably because Alice Oseman was so heavily involved. I wish more adaptations were this good!

I finished in my dreams I hold a knife. It was good.
Typical thriller in that the end was quick but good nonetheless

I started The Great Believers on audio while I crochet. I might finish this blanket in the next two days just so I can listen to it.

emma You were reading Dark Matter, yes? Did you finish it yet? I loved that book until about 75% of the way in. Curious what you thought.

I’ve been thinking about it since finishing it and feel like it’s one of those books that will live in the back of my brain forever

Interstellar was kind of similar for me, in that it’s something I keep in the back of my mind and randomly think about, even though it’s been like 8 years since I’ve watched it. My H liked Dark Matter a lot too.
