I actually finished Wish You Were Here today and it’s prob my least favorite Jodi Picoult book. It wasn’t my favorite of here’s but it was definitely better than the previous two she had. Up until the one with the active shooter that read in reverse I read and loved all of her books. I couldn’t get through that one at all and the next release had poor reviews. |

I finished The Diamond Eye today- I decided to just use one of my Audible credits to finish it at work, because I wanted to finish it before month's end. It was very good! I don't think I liked it *quite* as much as the Rose Code, so it was more of a 4.75 star read that I rounded up.
I am currently reading The Darkest Web, the second in the series that started with The Darkest Flower (same protagonist). I picked it up because it was on my Kindle shelf, and I am pleasantly surprised that it is gripping me quickly.
I will continue LA Weather since I have that on audio, yeah, it's slow.

My library had their book sale last weekend. Mh likes space books so I grabbed Magnificent Desolation: The Long Journey Home from the Moon by Buzz Aldrin. He picked it up this evening and it’s a signed copy! How wild. He’s being overly dramatic about how hands that went to the moon touched this book. Not too shabby for $1.
At last year’s book sale, we came home and he found $20 in a book we bought. It paid for all the books we bought.

This month/last month I read Ready Player One which isn't my typical genre but I actually really liked it.
The Therapist by BA Paris was meh
I'm DNF Where the Grass is Green and the Girls are Pretty by Lauren Weisburger (author of Devil Wears Prada). I'm 50% through and just don't care about the characters. I never read Devil Wears Prada but remember reading her other Lululemon one and it being ok.
Under the Whispering Door I really liked but I liked House in the Cerulean Sea better.
Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins was fine on 2x speed and a quick read.
I sped through some RomComs too and they were all pretty good fluffy reads:

I finished my ARC of Stay Awake and loved it! A slightly different take on the usual "unreliable narrator" trope. Took me a little longer than usual to figure out the twist.
I'm hate reading The Coppersmith Farmhouse at this point. I considered DNFing but it's a quick read so I'll finish. But it's awful.

Just finished The Inheritance of Orquerida Divina.
Wow. Utterly spectacular writing. Funny, lyrical, so many thought provoking themes layered in.
Anyone who even thinks they might like magic realism should check this book out.

I have enjoyed some of her books in the past but I can no longer get over the bad writing either. Ryle, Atlas. It feels like another 50 Shades to me. All these people are raving about it and it reads like a high schooler wrote fanfic. |

This is exactly it! I definitely didn't think It Ends With Us was the greatest book, but it was hard to put down. That describes every CH book I have read, lol. I think I gave It Ends With Us a high rating, but her books are tough to rate because I feel like books I can't put down should be rated highly, usually? But also sometimes the stories are quite juvenile. IDK, I keep reading her books, so she is doing something right, lol. |
