My sister is getting the J&J vaccine on Wednesday!! She's young, but is teaching in person 5 days/week. She also has asthma and an autoimmune disease. I have been so damn stressed about her. I might cry. Me too! Congrats to your sister! Is this through CVS? I’m not eligible through my state yet, but CVS opening it to teachers meant I was able to make an appointment this morning for J+J on Wednesday.

I have my first shot scheduled for Sunday! I’m happy that I’ll have some protection soon after DS starts back at hybrid school next week.
My mom and dad are getting their first shots on Sunday too. They had appointments scheduled at a state vaccination center, but their county is bringing a mobile vaccine pod to their town this weekend to reach underserved rural seniors. They’ll be able to walk to their vaccination site and get vaccinated with their friends. 🤣

My BIL and his girlfriend got their shots scheduled for next week. I'm getting worried because they didn't schedule our second shots when we got our first dose and said our DOH would send us an appointment link for it. But when I login it just says there aren't any available so I'll probably call to figure out what to do. This was the case for us too. I was told I'd receive an email from the health dept 4–7 days before I was eligible, and I was so nervous. But I'm eligible on 3/9 and it came this morning, so right on time! If it hadn't come, I was going to call on Monday.

Virginia people: can anyone tell me what the vaccination situation is like down there? My 94 year old grandpa hasn’t gotten a vaccine yet. My mom says he’s on the hospital list but that’s it. Should I be pushing her to be more proactive in calling around? Checking with the VA? She’s sticking with the “they’re all out” and “we have immunity already” lines. I know supply is an issue all over but my mom and her h haven’t been taking the pandemic seriously which is how the entire household got Covid back in December. The closest city to them is Winchester. Not Virginia but definitely check with the VA. After all the headache of getting my grandparents appts In iowa, o spoke with my grandpa and he said if he would have reached out to VA, he could have gotten his weeks earlier. He doesn’t use his VA benefits because of his retirement package, but it made him realize he needs to explore what benefits VA can provide and use it since he earned it with his service.

I’ll suggest that as an option too. She hasn’t responded to any of my Covid related texts but responded immediately to a non-covid one 🤨 It’s infuriating.

My FIL got his second shot yesterday and MIL goes tomorrow.
Mine isn't until the end of the month, but I'm excited none the less.
Yay for everyone getting vaccinated. It feels so surreal after the horror that was last March.

I’m super impatiently waiting my turn to get a shot but I’m so happy for all those getting theirs! My dad and both ILs are fully vaccinated now. My mom doesn’t qualify yet but hopefully will soon.

MN is up to nearly 20% of total population having at least one shot.

My work opened a mass vaccination site in an underserved and hard hit area of our local community today. We are not billing for the vaccine administration so this is truly a community, get as as many people vaccinated as possible site. It’s been blood sweat and tears for our workforce involved launching it but I’m so proud of them.

H drove two hours to the farthest town in our county to get his today at a CVS, which was the only available appointment in 100 mi radius. He said when he got there that they didn't even ask for ID and was done in 20 minutes??
I'm making him take off the Friday night of his second dose, because he never gets sick, so when he does, he's a big ass baby.

First dose done! I got the Moderna one at CVS. It was super easy and efficient. I barely felt the needle. Hopefully no side effects, but happy to have been able to take this step regardless.

H now qualifies for IL's 1B+ status. I managed to snag a Walgreens appointment for him Monday. Chicago vaccine hunters group is amazing.

This helps with Walgreens and Rite Aid (the pull down on the left lets you switch between). vaxxmax.com/walgreens

My dad had his 2nd shot yesterday. 28 hours later and he still has no side effects besides sore arm. Both my parents are done and now to get the ILs their shots. Apparently they had an invite to a clinic tomorrow, but my MIL needed help registering through the email and by the time my H had a chance all the appointments were gone.

The Johnson and Johnson vaccine is here. Some of my coworkers are getting it next week (CVS) and are excited about this one because it's one dose and they're done. Hopefully that motivates people and we can lose the narrative that it's a lesser vaccine.

I know we’ve seen the stats but it’s wild to hear doctors (last of replies to this post agree) say this.

I know we’ve seen the stats but it’s wild to hear doctors (last of replies to this post agree) say this. I was thinking that I really hope it becomes standard procedure for patients in doctor's offices and hospitals to wear masks now, always. It's wild that we expect healthcare professionals to just get breathed all over all day and night.

Hopefully that motivates people and we can lose the narrative that it's a lesser vaccine. Most teachers I know actually want the J&J want. It's just easier to schedule around one shot instead of two. There is some talk about not trusting the baby powder company but that is dying down thankfully. I get the J&J one today!
