All these noro stories are making me glad my superpower is a weird genetic mutation that makes me practically invulnerable to norovirus. And really hope I passed it on to both of my girls... I'm very jealous. I always get it the worst out of the whole house. Noro is just so contagious, I don't know if anything can be decided based on who gets it. My immune system sucks. Anytime anyone brings something home, I get it the worst. Solidarity.

OMG blurnette989 I’m not going to quote the story but that’s the worst. I’m sorry you had to experience that. I usually manage to avoid most bugs. But once when the twins were maybe 6-8 months old one of them got what I assume was a norovirus because he threw up a lot but he was primarily on formula. I was the only other person in the house to get sick and it was a very miserable night

cp3 this would be helpful for your H I'm late to this but thanks! Mh actually got the Pfizer vaccine and his doctor was fine with it. He got his second shot almost two weeks ago and was fine. The only thing he was told was he couldn't get the Johnson & Johnson because of the live virus. I hope with more research coming out you are able to get it too.

Oh, I see this thread is now tainted. I will not further it by sharing my own noravirus anecdotes but I feel for anybody that is going through it right now. It's the worst.

It's a double edged sword in that it makes me way more sensitive to regular food poisoning - I basically get ill a day before leftovers and the like usually go bad.

My immune system sucks. Anytime anyone brings something home, I get it the worst. Solidarity. Liking in empathy. Once I ended up in the ER from it. (Well, more than once, but the concussion was responsible the second time and I just didn't know it.) Meanwhile, H at worst gets mildly queasy. Every so often he talks about times when "we" had the stomach bug, and I glare daggers. Sounds like your H is on clean up duty whenever your kid brings it home.

I'm so happy about the latest kids study, hoping the next age group works just as well.
I had my second dose of pfizer on Sunday am and thought I was back to normal last night...but woke up at 4am with muscle aches and the rash I got on my hands/wrist were extra itchy. I'm at 72 hours, so still within the realm of normal, but it's crazy how everyone reacts so differently

I hope the good news from that study means they can approve it for 12 and over sooner rather than later. That would be huge and awesome for schools in the fall.
My H and I were talking about when it gets approved for all kids, we will probably just go with the bribery tactic at the outset and promise the 4.5 yr old legos for the shots, haha.

Me, Mh, and dd1 all got appts for tomorrow! I'm so freaking happy and relieved. Cases are spiking here again and it's so scary. Hospitals are reporting a lot of younger admittances.
Eta: we got extremely lucky the local health department opened up clinics to everyone 18+ because of the recent surge, even though the state is opening it up April 5th.

Just fatigue and hot flashes, but I took a nap sndused it as an excuse to order pizza instead of cooking.

My eight year old is practically begging for it. But I’m sure he’d accept some LEGO bribery too.

Uphill battle here for anything medical (medication, blood draws, shots, doctor visits)

My kid does not like shots, but he's not the worst about it either. I just know that having to do TWO shots close in time will be less than ideal for him. I'm not worried about the twins because they'll be around 18 months or so when the shots are likely approved for the littles so still young enough not to protest haha.

lemondrop That would be so amazing if 6+ could be approved around school starting time! My oldest will only be 5 in July but I hope that I can get all 3 of them vaccinated by sometime this winter.

My state announced vaccines are open to all 16± starting Monday. I am scheduled for Tuesday morning. I really assumed that it would be May, so this is great.
Schools are all back in person Monday, so hopefully this helps everything continue to go well and keep cases low.

When will the ‘but my whatever’s death certificate was wrong’ naysayers start up after the CDC’s announcement that covid was rhe 3rd leading cause of death in Americans in 2020?

I made sure dh printed out the vaccine clinic info so his employees could get appointments. As of 5pm, there are still 159 open slots available. Dh said his staff asked him why he was even bothering getting one. Sigh. I know there's still a lot of hesitancy out there, but that was discouraging.

Hanging out in line for Pfizer dose 2!
There are two guys in front of me who know each other, but barely and vaguely. The small talk catching up is painful.
