One Boston Day: in honor of the 3 killed and 264 injured at the Boston Marathon Bombings on 4/15/2013, I ran 4.15 miles this morning.
It's blowing my mind that it was 8 years ago.

It came up on my FB memories as "Hoping friends & family are safe" (or something) and I was trying to remember what I'd said that about, because surely the Marathon bombing wasn't 8 years ago. *mind blown emoji*

Wow, 8 years flew by. That was such a horrible day. I like the running in honor of the anniversary, I may have to up my game and do it also.
We got maybe a foot of wet snow here yesterday. My H was gone on a work trip so I had to shovel when the kids went to bed. It was exhausting. Iām very ready for Spring.

I'm waiting for my memories in a few days from when I posted pics of SWAT walking down my street. My poor future roommate was freaking out about where to stash her pot, lol. Pretty sure they have bigger fish to fry than half a gram and a bowl, Christine.

Iām thinking about quitting breakfast. Not a weight loss thing.
I am not hungry in the morning, but I make myself eat a Greek yogurt because most important meal of the day and all that. But my night owl self really only enjoys eating at around 11, 4, and 8.
I ran out of yogurts recently and skipped breakfast for a few days aside from a coffee with milk, and it didnāt make much of a difference in how hungry I was around lunch time. Would this be dumb? I never know what is actually healthy eating and what is random āscienceā Iāve retained from my momās 90ās yo-yo dieting.

I don't know any science or health arguments for or against it, but I haven't been a breakfast eater in decades (though I love "breakfast foods" other times of day). Food pre-10am always makes my stomach upset, and I've never found any gain in energy. So, my take is that if you feel you don't really want or need it, skip it.

Eating when you are hungry is the most important meal of the day. You do not need three squares, every day, forever and ever off into the sunset. Eating when one is not hungry makes no sense; neither does not eating when one IS hungry. (Barring a short, specific, usually surgery/health test or religious/spiritual, fast.) Unfortunately our entire society has different views on food and eating.

No reason to keep forcing it. Iāll eat if Iām hungry and skip if Iām not.

I always find it fascinating that so many people donāt eat breakfast/arenāt hungry when they wake up. I have eaten breakfast basically every day of my life and my body gets super cranky if I donāt eat within an hour or so of waking up.

Imjustnot hungry in the morning and I'm not a big fan of eating then. It just doesn't do anything for me. I rarely eat before 10am.

I know and understand and accept that there are people who have different circadian rhythms than me, but the actual experience of naturally staying up later and sleeping later is just...foreign to my life.

I was a night owl naturally until I had kids. Now I am in bed by 9 and still like to sleep until 7 lol so basically my body just wants all of the sleep.

I physically can not eat before 11 a.m. No matter what time I get up. If I try to eat anything before 11 a.m. it upsets my stomach. No matter what it is. I don't know what is magical about 11 a.m. Google tells me other people experience this but nobody can explain it.

Ok, my lower back has been absolutely killing me for days now. I think I did something during my Sunday workout. I'm at my Dr getting checked out because this walking like I'm 90 thing isn't working.

I do wonder if me eating breakfast no matter what every day as a kid through teen/college etc, made my body just conditioned to need fuel right away.

Honestly I straight up asked for PT bc I have sciatic nerve pain all. The. time. And I'm hoping I can learn some better stretches or something to prevent it.

When Iām on vacation, my natural bedtime is around 1am. Otherwise I have to force myself to go to bed at 11. I fall asleep ok, fortunately, but itās pretty much the time of day I feel most awake. Having kids is rough, because I wake up around 10:30 if nothing wakes me up. They are not down with this schedule. Itās just how Iām built. I should have married a morning person to balance me out, but H is the same.

Apparently that happens to runners a lot. And that would explain why foam rolling my bum always feels so good š¤£

I stopped at some point in high school. Same. As soon as I had enough control of my own schedule I started eating during free periods or waiting for lunch instead. I only went back to breakfast when I got pregnant and really needed to eat in the morning. Then I kept it up because I figured it was better for me.

I did 3 miles today on the elliptical. Man, I forgot how different machines really give a different workout. My glutes are already killing me. I did a fat burning session and I felt like I was moving soooo slow to keep my heart rate where they wanted it. But that was a good sesh and Iām probably going to reward myself with pizza now š

I did a HIIT yesterday because I hadn't remembered the last time I did (I mostly walk) and my legs were absolutely jelly on my regular hill walk. I only did it for 20 minutes yesterday too- good grief!
