I've been upping my mileage and finishing a 10k training plan. I'm a slow runner, so I won't get the full 10k in 60 minutes. I'll top out at just over 5 miles. Still - go me! I have liked the plan, but I need SO MUCH recovery time. I've had to move down the frequency. I will blame the heat, but it's likely age and fitness level. 🤷♀️ Yes, go you! Running 5 miles is a feat to celebrate!

overboard, yep AZ here. I'm trying really hard to keep my yard low water and native. But it can be tough to find suppliers. Hence the vincas - easy to find and they love the heat. 😂 cnf, that just doesn't compute. 😂

It was beautiful this morning so I ran/walked 5 miles. I always subconsciously run faster outside and my form suffers (heel strikes, ouch) so I need to work on that. I'm just so glad the weather is nice.

Well, I'll admit that I rejoined the regular gym today. Maybe this should be a confession. I'm just not a Peloton person, and a HS friend just announced another pregnancy (with a "guess I'll have babies in consecutive years hehe!" text to me, knowing what I've been struggling with) so my infertile ass needed to do something. I ran a 5k. My core that is used to the bike was not impressed. If I can't be pregnant, at least my body is going to look sick.
I'm that cat knocking over a glass meme right now saying "fuck this, fuck that, fuck this thing in particular".

Gentle hugs, lemondrop . You hs friend is an insensitive ass. I told her as much. Apparently because I had a baby after my last bout with infertility, it shouldn't be so bad this time! *stares in trauma and RE fees*

Thanks all. I told her as much, but I don’t think she gets it. I foresee pulling away from that one for now.
On the positive, my 5k was sub 30 which I was happy about. My PR is just under 28 mins (short legs, man) so I’ve got a ways to go to match that, but a good goal to give myself.

Holy moley, does anyone here just run a mile or two? I am on day two of running twenty minutes but it’s definitely not at that pace lemondrop or cnf are running. I do some run/walk because my mental blocks hit as soon as my legs get tired. Even 15 seconds walk makes me think I had a break.

oreobitsy I ran two miles today. 👋 I ran a 28-minute 5K... 10 years ago. 😂 It’s considerably slower now, but the important thing is just to keep moving! I know that sounds cheesy, but I try to ignore my urge to compare with others and focus on the joy of movement.

And my sore AF love handles are currently wondering wtf I was thinking?

I slacked for a good couple weeks and I’m getting back into it. I know I’ll feel good when I can boost my speed to certain choruses of my run songs. I am a late in life runner so it’s not easy yet.

lemondrop my kids often talk to me while I’m running in the treadmill. There are a lot of wheezes, huffs, and deep-voiced “Give mommy five minutes!”

I wish my standard run was always at least 3 miles, but three kids and full time job and sometimes 2 just gets the job done. Definitely don't compare yourself to others. You're getting it done and that's the biggest part.

This was yesterday, but I just saw it today. I woke up with a migraine and had to take my rescue med, so I think a walk may be all I can manage today. National Walking Day +1 http://instagram.com/p/CNX_u4OrwEj

But I do walk, which is a great form of low-impact cardio all on its own. I've been power walking all over my neighborhood, starting with one or two miles at a time, since the weather turned and I love it.

I’m proud that even through my fatigue from the 2nd covid shot over the weekend, I managed to close my rings every day. I think I’m on a 9-day streak. Some days it was just walks or quick little workouts, but I’ve been deliberate and consistent about moving, which is my overall 2021 goal.

Last night I had a few minutes before dinner so I hid in our walk-in closet and did my 8 minutes of core compressions. I could hear my kids yelling, but they couldn’t find me. #lifehack
