Thanks for sharing! It makes me wonder if there are swingers spots here. I mean, we’re in no healthy place in our marriage for this, but it’s intriguing to learn about. I look for a spot everywhere we go if we can sneak away or it’s just H and I. They’re everywhere (ish) but sometimes really low key other time easy to find. We checked one out in NYC. We had really high hopes. Not impressed and heard later there a better one that I had considered but decided against it. I regret that decision. Le Trapeze?

IG and google has it as Trapeze Club but maybe the same. Looks like they have one in Ft. Lauderdale as well.

I’ll Come back and ETA with the one we checked out. ETA: Pendulum was the one we ended up at.

How much is it to get in to a party? Can anyone go or do you need someone to vouch/invite you? Are there any background checks? the club MH and I went to you had to complete an application for membership which included a photo. I do not believe a background check was completed. It was $50 pp on a weekend night and byob. Men were not allowed to go without a woman, even if they were a member, but women could go by themselves. No one vouched for us originally - we applied online and sent in required info including drivers license and then they called us to ask a few questions prior to approving us

Here it’s about $100 entrance fee for the clubs for couples if you don’t get a discount for whatever reason plus a membership fee which can vary in cost and length. Single women are either free or minimal cost like $10. Single men have certain nights they can go and their cost is way up there. House party costs vary and sometimes those are more exclusive. I haven’t experienced a background check but do know there are some out here in CA like that but I figure those are for the rich and famous and not us little people. I’d love to go to one of those though. @msinvestigations had a similar experience as we did to one we went to in San Diego.

icedcoffee I came into this not really knowing what to expect because movies tell me one thing and that’s all I had to base it on.

My friend in college went to a club a lot. Single women could get in alone, but men needed a partner or a member to vouch.

So, it’s like a country club fee, but to a swinger club. Do you normally just belong to one or multiple?
This is all so interesting to me. I love learning about this stuff.

My only knowledge about this lifestyle is from an episode of Criminal Minds, so it's probably not that accurate. All of this is so interesting!

What are the membership length/fees like? I don’t know why the logistics are so fascinating to me. States vary on that as well I’ve found. In CA clubs have to be BYOB and membership so it can be considered a private club and no alcohol sold. Our main spot is about $60 for 3 or 6 months (covid happened so it’s been awhile since I’ve had to think about it) and $90 to enter on Saturdays, $70 on Fridays and not sure what other days cost. I can’t remember the cost of the one in San Diego but it was BYOB but you couldn’t take your alcohol with you when you left. Lame. There’s another one I’ve been to out here that was $40 membership and maybe that to get in as well? I can’t recall. BYOB. Resorts are different but still BYOB. One place we needed a membership and it was $50 for a day pass. Another place is $109 for a day pass if you’re not staying but no membership. The one in FL was free after I saw there was a military discount. My military status even gets me discounts for that. Hahaha. That place was not BYOB. NY was only $10 if I showed I was a member of a a website. Not BYOB and no membership fee. Las Vegas, we only went to a resort because I keep hearing terrible things about two of the swinger clubs however, there’s a newer one I heard was poppin’ that we haven’t made it to. That resort was something like $140 for a day pass if you didn’t stay. It was BYOB. There’s another newer one in Vegas that is exclusive and invite only but from the pics and word from friends who have attended, not so much our scene. The crowd is too young for our tastes.

We only belonged to one that we regularly attended but we pay the membership fee to check out other places even if we don’t plan to go back. Covid so it’s shut down hence the past tense used.

So wait, you spend several hundred dollars monthly on this? And you have to bring your own booze? No shade. I just thought there would be an open bar. Never happened upon an open bar except at a house party maybe. Some places had buffets. It can be expensive. Throw in the multi-day hotel takeovers, the themed outfits and accessories, food, alcohol, room, the ticket price and you can easily exceed $1,000 for just the one weekend. That’s not including travel if that’s part of it.

I just thought there would be an open bar. it does get expensive especially when you take into account a hotel room and travel - because we didn’t want to go too close to home and run into anyone we know. The club we were members at did have a big buffet included in the entry fee but we never ate anything there since a full stomach seemed like a bad idea. Lol

Speaking of the BYOB, some places have bartenders so you give them your bottle and write your name on a label so you know it’s yours. If you come across a labeled alcohol bottle at someone’s house be suspicious.

There was a bar with mixers and non alcoholic drinks that you didn’t have to pay for. They just couldn’t serve alcohol.

Oh I have another question. Are there certain hotels known for the lifestyle?
I ask because back in 2019 I booked a hotel for the weekend in New Orleans. It was a Marriott property because that’s where I have points and status (well, did). Anyway, upon google I say a few things that said it was a swinger hotel. We stayed anyway and i saw nothing unusual.
I assume this is a case of if it is, fine no one is just going to jump you.

I feel this would be a great reason to use that bag you found to carry alcohol. A four pack of half liter beer cans, my very large calendar and a light up cape! And stripper heels.

It could be that that hotel hosts swinger parties on occasion. I always wonder what the employees are thinking. I had one after me and wanted me to visit him later. He gave me free drinks while I waited for H so I played the game. He also thought I was way way way younger than I am so he won points. We did not go visit him later. OMG that reminds me! The first hotel takeover I ever went to was advertised as being fully booked for the event and it was supposed to be only lifestyle people. That was a damn lie. We were at the pool party and women were in pasties and topless when lo and behold we spied a couple with their kids a few stories up on the balcony. The kids were tiny so knew no better but the couple was videoing the party. Right before that there was a couple on an opposite balcony banging it out. I don’t know if that fam saw. It was slightly mortifying but even more mortifying when we were walking to the main event inside the hotel and us women are barely clothed and this grandma with her not so young kids walked by. People were pissed because the event host did not secure the location as he had said he did.

Huh.
This dug up a previously forgotten memory. I was 7 visiting my uncle in Seattle, he was on chemo and radiation.
Anyways, one day we were driving downtown and see a group of women wearing shorts and pasties. My mom immediately covers my eyes but I saw what I saw.
Now my eyes are opened for real.

becausewhy - I work in corporate hotel sales for major international brand. I’ve booked a swingers groups before. I can’t remember what they called it... I think it was called a lifestyle party actually? Anyway, the staff got a kick out of the half naked people on the pool deck that looked over the water, but other than that we didn’t care - to me it was good for my numbers that month - LOL. But to speak on “booking a hotel out” - this rarely happens ever unless presidential (I’ve booked out and entire property for the FBI and the president before - actually for the RNC that just passed - obvi it got cancelled) or sometimes a celebrity can pull it off. A “normal” group no matter how big is usually isn’t totally taking over a hotel. If they have like 75% of it, sales and management considers that a book out. But really some individual reservations were likely already on the books. So they may have actually told your organizer that they booked out the hotel, but likely they booked the remaining inventory. It may not have been that planners fault! (This is all hotel dependent - but if you’re at a big brand (and I’ve worked for them all) this is usually how it works).

I am not a fan of buffets in normal times. A buffet at a place where people are naked and touching each other is the hardest of passes.

I figured the people who booked had booked long ago. That hotel had mentioned they tried to get the guests booked elsewhere. The last one we we to was just us. Probably not all room filled. It was a Hyatt or Westin and when we got there some lady was trying to extend her reservation but the manager kept apologizing and saying she couldn’t because there was a private event and the hotel was booked for that. Good insight on how it all works! Thank you!

I feel like I could totally get into this lifestyle with the right amount of alcohol. I would need my kids to be older though where I didn't have to parent immediately after

Is there ever a really large differential in attractiveness in a couple? Does it ruin their lives? Who supplies the lube? If it it byol, where do you keep it, because there is no room in your pockets?
