I got my first Pfizer middle of April. Just a sore arm and maybe a little more tired than normal. But by the next day I was fine.
I got my 2nd dose this past Friday. I had a sore arm for a day or two and started to feel a little headachy Friday night. I took a Tylenol Friday before bed and woke up feeling fine. I drank a ton of water before my shot and also chugged a Gatorade afterwards.

Literally no idea and probably nothing. It’s mostly to make me feel like I’m trying my best I read that Dr. Fauci recommended taking vitamin D3 the day before and the day of your shot, so I did that with my second Pfizer last week, and I had zero side effects other than a slightly sore arm for one day. I'm only 5 days out so I guess I'm still not out of the woods, but I didn't have any side effects after the first one so I'm guessing I'm in the clear. I moved my arm a ton (actually brought a little hand weight to my desk and worked it for the rest of the day) and drank a lot of water.

I had my first Moderna shot on the 29th and last Friday (so 8 days post shot) a sore red welt appeared that wasn't there before. It's so strange. is it still there? Mine isn't sore at least. It is. Fourth day in but not very sore anymore. Still a little warm and sometimes itchy. Better today than yesterday though, I think it's finally going away. Eta: I also never had a sore arm in the days after the initial shot, but I moved my arm a ton in hopes of preventing the muscle soreness.

I was very well hydrated and take vitamin D daily and I had a very hard time with both of my shots. I think some of it is just luck (genetics).

I agree that it seems to be just luck, or genetics or whatever (kind of like how the severity of Covid is so inconsistent). I was well hydrated, regularly take vitamins and ate super healthy beforehand. The week leading up to my second shot I basically fueled and treated my body as if it was sick. And my second dose was ROUGH. This is not to say people shouldn’t do those things, because it can’t hurt anything and may help. Just adding my experience.

PFIZER APPROVED FOR 12-15 YEAR OLDS!! I know the city was mobilizing today in anticipation of it coming through Wednesday night, so hopefully they’ll be able to kick start that overnight and start getting older youth vaxxed tomorrow morning. Does the CDC still need to approve it Wednesday before they can get it?

I ended up with a headache but I think that was due to crappy sleep. If I would have taken Tylenol at 2am, I probably would have been able to go back to sleep

Does the CDC still need to approve it Wednesday before they can get it? Okay nvm NY is waiting for CDC clearance on Wednesday. They’re also not (currently) opening online scheduling until then. I have the thoughts on the delay. Mostly that NYC is sitting on a huge stock of vaxxes right now and if we’re not getting them into arms we need to be putting them on a plane to India. Cuomo wants the CDC to recommend it, and then zucker and his group need to okay it. Plans are for both of those to happen tomorrow (Wednesday), and vaccines to begin Thursday. Training for staff on administering to 12-15 year olds is occurring, so they are prepared to begin ASAP once the two things above happen. Our county is bringing pediatricians to their pod Thursday, so families have people they are comfortable with, since most are not equipped to handle pfizer’s temps. Ever since it came out approval would be this week, the wheels to be ready as soon as it was done started moving.

Has anyone seen anything about it being okay to take a sleeping pill after the 2nd shot?
I got my vaccine yesterday & was so flipping tired, I took unisom but now I feel like I got hit by a truck & I'm thinking maybe I messed things up by doing that.😩

Take some ibuprofen and tylenol if you're hurting.

Has anyone donated blood post vacccine? I donated three weeks post my second shot and received a notice from the blood bank saying my blood had abnormal test results. Apparently they found HIV antibodies in my blood but further testing showed no evidence of virus using nucleic acid testing. I am trying not to freak out before I can call the donor advocate line Monday morning so I’m looking for other experiences. Thanks.

I volunteer for our local mass vaccination clinics and we were told to plan for booster shots in the fall.
