I got shot 2 (Pfizer) yesterday at noon. Overnight I woke up with my heartrate a little fast. This morning I’ve felt a little clammy. Of course my arm is sore. Pretty mild so far. Fingers crossed it stays mild! Quoting myself. I work from home in the morning which was fine. I went in to work and got pretty sweaty and lightheaded. I guess I overdid it. Home now resting and I feel much better.

One of my employees is out sick today because of vaccine side effects. This is her first shot. I feel a little bad because she was hesitant to get the vaccine. That’s how I felt when my AA CWer told me she had to call off bc she got a fever and everything after her first shot- that I encouraged and sort of convinced her to get. 🥴

Most (ok all) of my coworkers who had symptomatic immune responses to the vaccine have said they would do it again. Knowing that the symptoms were self-limiting (even for a full day or so) is so much better than being sick with Covid and all the unknown that brings. jaygee addymac I wouldn’t feel too bad about your coworkers, the benefit far far outweighs the discomfort and inconvenience (I know you know)

I got my first dose yesterday, and my arm is so sore tonight. I also noticed a headache right after the fifteen minutes was up but it didn’t last.

So, interestingly, I think I have a red itchy bump at injection site. Nothing too bad, just annoying and seems similar to a bug bite. But it didn't appear until about a week later, and of course, yesterday is when I stopped getting the V safe check in. So I guess I will just keep an eye on it.

It will become a weekly thing until your second dose then it’s every day for a week and then weekly and then monthly. So I think you can report it at the weekly check in.

One of the lesser known side effects is dying rear. Guess how I know😞 From what I’ve read it can last up to 72 hours post vaccine so I should be better tomorrow. I hope. I also still feel like I got hit by a truck if I don’t take ibuprofen every four hours.
That said only one other coworker out of a dozen or so, has had side effects other than a sore arm the day after.

Same as you, I have a ton of colleagues who have had Moderna and none have had more than a sore arm and mild nausea on dose 1. Im sorry you’re struggling and hope you have relief soon!

Has anyone whose gotten the vaccine had covid within 90 days prior? My H will be about 50ish days out from diagnosis when he gets his because if he passes it up now he won’t be able to get one for a long time.

My 78 year old parents got their shots on Thursday and have had zero side effects. Not even sore arms.

I had a coworker who got the vaccine maybe 2 weeks after Covid. They did fine with no major issues.

I also have a coworker who got the vaccine within 3 weeks of recovering from COVID. Personally, if it were me I would go for it especially knowing I wouldn’t have a chance again for a long while. I would probably anticipate having more side effects because your body is primed to fight but it would still be worth it to me to get it!

Thanks all! He’s definitely getting it but is a little nervous of bad side-effects. I also had covid at the same time but my work will continue to have vaccines available so I am able to wait. I’m only waiting to see if I am eligible to donate plasma because once you have the vaccine you can’t.

One had minimal/no side effects and the other spiked a fever for a day after the first dose (she’s still waiting for the second dose). Originally the cdc had said wait 90 days post infection but I think they got rid of that? Not sure. All I know is people were not going to pass up their opportunity to get the shot and it seems to be working ok.

I haven’t seen or read it myself but discussed with coworkers

Mh and I got ours on 1/16. I got Moderna, he had Pfizer. We both had sore arms that were about steroid shot or TDAP bad for a day, difficulty raising them above shoulder and pain, I had pain at injection site. No other symptoms. His parents also got the Pfizer at the same time as him and are older, same experience as him.

I got my 1st dose today! So far I feel fine, not even a sore arm really (I’m trying to keep moving it so it doesn’t stiffen up.)
I did have to wait 30 minutes after vaccination since I said I had some medication allergies.

So now about 10-ish hours after the vaccine I feel super tired. It's only 7pm here but I feel ready to crash for the night. Also, it seems the VSafe site is down for maintenance?

geekygirly, I got my first dose about 6 hours ago and I felt great right after but I am exhausted and dizzy (and subsequently nauseous) now but functioning okay. And I'm having issues with the site too. I registered while waiting in the observation area after my shot and just got the verification code about an hour ago. I got an error message when I tried to put in the code and then after refreshing it said the site was down.

I'm in the trial for novavax and got the shot this morning. I don't know if it's the placebo or not but it definitely burned

I received my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine this morning, with no adverse effects so far. My arm is starting to get a bit sore but I feel fine otherwise. I actually teared up a little once I had a moment to stop and think about how amazing it is that we have a vaccine and there is hopefully an end in sight for this nightmare.

beertotheface I was emotional too. Everyone working at the place where I got my vaccine was so upbeat and positive and friendly, there was a general air of excitement and hopefulness.

My arm is sore down to my wrist and most of my joints are sore.
2nd dose is mid February.

I got my 2nd dose of the Moderna vaccine yesterday morning. So far the only symptom I've had is a really painful arm, with redness and swelling at the injection site. I also have a mild headache but I almost always have a headache so I don't think its related. Since I'm over 24 hours post shot I'm hoping this is the worst of it.

I had my second dose of Pfizer yesterday afternoon. By evening I had a stiff neck and shoulders which has carried into today. I was dead asleep by 9pm and still feel very tired today. I also have a headache. Still so worth it.

Is anyone participating in V-Safe? I registered after my shot yesterday, but they sent me the questionnaire link at midnight and when I opened it this morning, it had expired. I’m not staying up til midnight to fill out the survey every day.

so MH got his second dose of Moderna on Wednesday and felt worse than the flu all day yesterday. Chills, sore, tired, headache, everything but a fever. And then he woke up this morning feeling like nothing happened.
