I've talked to some coworkers who also got the 2nd vaccine yesterday and they have been having pretty significant side effects and basically can't get out of bed today. Hopefully it doesn't last long for them.

I’ve heard a lot about worse side effects with dose two so I thought I would post.
I had Moderna #1 on 12/23. Very sore arm for 2 days and some chills about 6 hours after the first dose that were fleeting. Basically NBD but damn my arm hurt.
Moderna #2 on 1/20. Sore arm but maybe only 50% as bad as when it was at its worst from shot #1. I had some mild body aches and fatigue for a total of 24 hours. I worked the next day and was tired for the first couple hours but snapped out of it by end of day. By the 24 hour mark my arm barely hurt at all. I feel 100% normal now.
My sister had Pfizer. She also had a very sore arm with shot #1 but no other significant symptoms. Her 2nd shot she had a mild sore arm (much less than the first) and no other symptoms.
Just adding in my anecdotes.

I had my first Pfizer dose today. The fatigue is no joke. It isn’t even 8p and I am heading to bed. I also have a headache. Surprisingly, my arm isn’t sore.

Is anyone participating in V-Safe? I registered after my shot yesterday, but they sent me the questionnaire link at midnight and when I opened it this morning, it had expired. I’m not staying up til midnight to fill out the survey every day. I am. Mine all came in the afternoon, like around 2:30 pm. That’s weird, maybe check your profile for what time zone they have you in.

I've had both of my vaccines (Pfizer). I'm 13 days out from #2. I had a very sore arm after #1, which is normal for me after most any vaccine. I'd say it lasted 3 days. With #2, I got it at 10am and then worked a nightshift 7p-7a that same day. I had a horrible headache but I'm not sure if that was because work was so nuts and I was low on sleep or from the vaccine. I was tired with mild body aches/chills for 2 days. Nothing more than I have had from the flu shot in the past. I worked 7 night shifts in a row post vaccine (while parenting 3 kids) and managed.

The site was down Wed night, I finally registered yesterday, and then I just got my first survey today at 6pm.

I got my 2nd dose of the Moderna vaccine yesterday morning. So far the only symptom I've had is a really painful arm, with redness and swelling at the injection site. I also have a mild headache but I almost always have a headache so I don't think its related. Since I'm over 24 hours post shot I'm hoping this is the worst of it. Quoting myself because apparently my side effects were just delayed. Starting yesterday afternoon I had body aches, headache, fever, and chills. Also very tired. Pretty significant arm pain too,, I could barely move my arm. I slept in this morning and took a nap. I feel a lot better today, some slight body aches and a headache. Arm still hurts a little but I'm able to move it.

Mom felt not great but okay, and then two days later woke up with a migraine and fever.

Has anyone had itching following the vaccine? I'm 4 days out from the 2nd dose and still have a red, warm lump but today it itches like crazy.

MH got the first dose of Pfizer on 1/13 and he just tested positive for Covid today (1/26). I know that the vaccine isn’t effective until after the 2nd dose is given, so it’s just bummer luck I guess. He’s getting his 2nd dose next week. I was supposed to get my 2nd dose of Moderna on Monday 2/1 but I’ll have to postpone it since we will still be quarantined. I am not having any Covid symptoms and am still waiting for the results of my test.

A bunch of teachers at my school have had to delay their appts because they're quarantined due to being contacts of students and staff that have tested positive. Hopefully it's not too hard for you to reschedule. I hope your H feels better soon and that you remain negative and symptom free!

I got the first dose of Pfizer on Monday afternoon. The fatigue is the most notable side effect - I slept like a rock the first night and felt drowsy all day yesterday. Not quite as deep sleep last night, but I still woke up today feeling like I hadn't slept at all. My arm is sore, but useable. No other issues to report, thankfully!

My friend and I both received Moderna and the fatigue was real! The day after the shot I was soooo tired and last night I went to bed super early. Still tired today (had shot Monday) but better than yesterday. I’ll take fatigue, no biggie!

I got the second Moderna shot yesterday (wednesday), and it kicked my butt! I received it at 9am, and by 7pm I had body aches, chills and a fever of 102. The fever came down with Tylenol, but was up again overnight when the Tylenol wore off.
Still have a low-grade fever this morning, but I feel a lot better. My body hurts all over but I don’t feel completely run-down like yesterday. It was like when I had mastitis, without the sore boob.

I had Moderna 2 weeks ago and just a moderately sore arm for 2 days, nothing else. Round 2 is in 2 weeks so I’m mentally preparing to not feel great following that one. Of my 4 friends who have gotten dose 2 (Pfizer) so far, 3:4 have had low grade fever, body aches, headache and fatigue. I don’t personally know anyone else yet who’s gotten dose 2 of Moderna since it was released later and has a different dosing schedule (4 weeks in between doses as opposed to 3 weeks with Pfizer) I'm late to this thread but I'm getting my first dose Saturday and it's pfizer. My county is making us wait 4 weeks for second dose and now I'm worried. Does anyone know if this is bad news?

Yes, I was worried when I saw its should be 3 weeks and my county is doing 4 weeks (I'm stupid about vaccines so that's where my fear came from)

Hopefully it doesn't last long for them. This is me today. Got the second dose yesterday and I had to stay home today. I can barely lift my arm which is a pretty important part of my job, in addition to the headache, chills, aches, and low fever. After the first one I only had some tenderness to touch with my arm.

I got the moderna vaccine yesterday. I felt weird last night, the world was kind of spinning and I was nauseated like when you drink too much; I was also super tired, so maybe it's unrelated. A coworker said she had a bit of a burning sensation in her hand, but it was gone by the evening. Quoting myself to say that I ended up testing positive for covid a week after my first vaccine. Dept of health said that my 2 dose will probably be pushed off for 6 weeks. We think mh picked it up during his in-person classes (his students don't have to tell anyone that they're positive, so no one is enforcing quarantine). Even though he and his students are masked, it was the most exposure either of us had around that time.

Hi there, 21 days is the recommend time frame from the manufacturer but the CDC updated their guidelines that you can safely get the second dose up to 4 days before the 21 day mark, or 6 weeks after the first dose. I wouldn’t worry about 4 weeks at all!

Update after my second Moderna: -Arm pain not nearly as bad as the first time -Starting at about 8 hours after the dose I had body aches, chills, nausea. Manageable with Tylenol/Advil and back to myself within 36 hours! Not fun but totally worth it.
