I had my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on 12/21 at 1600. I started to have a sore arm around 1900 and was woken up in the middle of the night because of said sore arm. Advil helped for the following 24 hrs.
I received my second dose today at 1430 and so far no symptoms, but will report back.

I had my first dose of Pfizer in December. First shot, sore arm, fatigue, muscle aches and joint pain. I could not have worked with the fatigue.
Got Pfizer number two last Tuesday. Woke up Wednesday middle of the night with severe body aches, chills. My back hurt so bad I struggled to get out of bed. I had a 102.7 fever. Medicated with Tylenol and ibuprofen. Rough day with symptoms. Woke up Thursday morning with a 100.7 fever. Still muscle aches, fatigue, joint pain. I went to work Friday but was still really tired. Finally felt back to normal on Sunday.
I have not had Covid or antibodies.

First dose I had a sore arm for 2 days (Sat AM got dose, sore arm until I woke up Monday morning fine) Second dose I had an insanely sore arm for two days- same as first but less soreness by Sunday evening. I also had some fatigue. I have some auto-immune shit happening (have an RA appt in a few weeks) and my default is muscle aches and fatigue, but this was extra intense. I took two naps instead of one each day. Monday morning back to work feeling fine. DH had zero symptoms after first dose and he had a slight headache the evening of the second dose. That’s all. Wanted to update: I feel fine. DH is having muscle aches and soreness tonight but he’s still doing everything normally.

Thanks to everyone sharing, particularly about the second shot. Do you think it would be worth taking Advil prior to getting it and maybe through the first day. I am mostly wanting to keep from getting a fever.

I received the 1st shot (Moderna) last Thursday. I also have Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I had very minor soreness in the arm. It wasn't anything that prevented me from using that arm. As far as taking ibuprofen prior to the immunization, I would not. The fever is part of the immune response showing that it's working. If you develop a fever and are too uncomfortable, that's when I would take the fever reducing meds.

I got my first dose of Moderna on 12/30. Sore arm right away, and the following day my arm was more sore, on the level with the TDaP shot. I was pretty tired and I had body aches, but I had also worked 3 in a row, with the 3rd day on the 30th and I had gone on a pretty hard run the morning of the 31st, so it is a little unclear if that was vaccine or ‘regular’ fatigue and aches. The 1st I woke up feeling 100%, not even arm soreness.
I get my second dose on the 27th, which is the first of three days in a row off, but I’m a bit worried about taking care of the kids if I have a strong immune response.

The fever is what I am most worried about, as that's what could have an impact on the fetus. But, I will be in second tri by the time I get the second shot, so at least it won't be quite as much of a concern.

MY SIL has received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine. 1st dose, she had nothing but a mildly sore arm. 2nd dose, she said, “14-15 hours out hits you like a bad hangover without any of the fun from the prior night.” She also said some of her colleagues felt fine, others feverish, and she was probably in the middle of the scale. Yeah, the second shot is supposed to be rough. I had Pfizer #2 this weekend and was nervous because I heard it was worse, from many people. It was WAY easier than dose #1. Super mild nausea on and off, and again a sore armpit. That’s it. So just an anecdote, but hopefully reassuring for some.

I’m not really feeling great this afternoon - 48 hours after the first dose. I’m super cold and achey. That said, I frequently feel like this early in my period so it really could be unrelated. I think I’ll just go to bed early and hope for the best tomorrow.

Feeling back to normal today. No idea if it was the vaccine or my period or exhaustion. Took a good long sleep and I’m fine now.

My mom got her vaccine today. She said it didn't even hurt! My grandparents get it tomorrow.
My district is trying to purchase the vaccine for us teachers. Sadly, Abbott took us off the 1a and 1b group so who knows when teachers will be allowed to get it. 🙄
Eta: she got the Moderna vaccine

H got his first today! He watched a woman have a pretty significant allergic reaction and it freaked him out but he was totally fine. No effects at all so far.

I remember from the teacher thread that your teaching circumstances were not great, so that’s even more discouraging. I hope your district can get them for you. We were just able to register in NY and I go next week for my first dose.

A former coworker of mine got the first dose this week and she had covid maybe 3-4 weeks ago. Following the vaccine she had a fever up to 102, headache, body aches, and fatigue. I'm curious to see how she reacts to the 2nd dose since that one seems to be worse for most people. I'm kind of surprised they allowed her to get the vaccine since she had had covid so recently. My employer was making you wait 90 days post covid but now they changed that to 45 days.

our hospital has a sign in the waiting area that recommends taking Tylenol prior to and hours after the vaccine. Interesting. That is super interesting. There have been several studies, at least in children, that pre-medicating with Tylenol blunts the immune response. Basically when they looked at the group of babies that got Tylenol pre-vaccines vs those who didn’t, the ones who got premedicated had lower antibody levels. That being said, these vaccines work differently than typical childhood immunizations so it’s possible that same idea won’t apply, but personally I’d try not to premed, just in case!

I got the first dose of Moderna today. I’ve felt a bit foggy and dizzy off and on ever since. My arm just started hurting and I had a headache that felt different than normal but I have headaches daily so who knows. I have a couple auto immune things so I expect some reaction.

After my 2nd dose I felt extra sleepy (took a nap and went to bed fairly early). The next morning I felt cold (though it was an unusually cold day) and a bit lightheaded before breakfast. Once I had coffee I felt normal. No fever.

Report back on second dose: started to feel fatigued about 6 hrs. Post dose along with the brutal arm pain I had with the first dose (highly recommend ice). Next day at work I was a zombie (I worked, but probably could have benefited from staying home). Body aches started 26 hrs. after vaccine followed by the mildest of fevers. I slept it off last night and was 100% this morning with the exception of an arm sore to the touch.

We were just able to register in NY and I go next week for my first dose. The whole COVID situation in my county is awful, so it isn't surprising that the situation within the district isn't the best. I'm in deep MAGA County. We even have billboards that tell liberals to get out because "we" are MAGA loving. So not surprising, but unfortunate! I'm hoping the district secures them soon because I have 5 weeks and 4 days until all virtual kids and teachers are forced to go back face to face. At least my most vulnerable family members will be protected!

I got shot 2 (Pfizer) yesterday at noon. Overnight I woke up with my heartrate a little fast. This morning I’ve felt a little clammy. Of course my arm is sore. Pretty mild so far. Fingers crossed it stays mild!

One of my employees is out sick today because of vaccine side effects. This is her first shot. I feel a little bad because she was hesitant to get the vaccine.

I got the moderna vaccine yesterday. I felt weird last night, the world was kind of spinning and I was nauseated like when you drink too much; I was also super tired, so maybe it's unrelated.
A coworker said she had a bit of a burning sensation in her hand, but it was gone by the evening.
