There is a lot of green, but the increase in positive cases from last week was deep orange, while FFX county for example is down and in the green. Idk, you’re right, it could be worse. And schools can do what they want with this info- there is no criteria that must be met for schools to open. But I would prefer if everything was green. Me too. That increase is so steep it had me wondering if there was an outbreak in a nursing home or jail or something similar. There was a data anomaly last week. I don't remember exactly what the issue was but the tracker I follow indicated a data anomaly.

Was it just rna or infectious levels? Can't read the article because stupid location block. It doesn't specify and just says trace levels, so I'm assuming rna. It does say there's no evidence that people can be infected by it and much more research needs to be done. I'm in a dark place and just think the trend of research on covid-19 is never good. My brain literally leapt from "trace amounts in lake water" to "it's going to affect the water supply and we're all doomed". Just my usual pessimistic worldview.

geekygirly, I saw that, but I am still skeptical of it. But I think in our county a lot of school districts are hiding information.

I don’t know how much swimming is actually happening at those beaches. That water is frigid. I think more research at other beaches elsewhere in the US would be good.

I was curious so I went and checked, and agreed very few people are likely swimming in that. The atlantic is cold where I am and I will only swim once it hits at least 62°F and it looks like superior sometimes hits that in summer, but not always. Cold.

Anectdata, but most people I know who head up to the north shore (that beach area) in the summer do go swimming. It’s a bit of a right of passage. I only ever dipped my feet in because I’m not a glutton for punishment.

I'd def swim in that but the current temp is around 52 and that is a no thank you ma'am. But also yes the Português consider swimming in our ocean therapeutic because it's so cold lol.
