Here’s a stupid NSV for you all. I’m pretty private about my fitness journey IRL. I rarely tell people I work out because... I don’t know. I’ve been brainwashed by diet culture for years and think people won’t believe me because I’m not thin? I had to do an intro post for one of my classes, folks I don’t know and am going to spend the next 4 years with, and I said my favorite hobby is exercising. Because It is and I enjoy it, damn it! Suck it diet culture. Love this!!

Finished another yoga morning with dh. I set my alarm so no risk of oversleeping. Chilling with coffee until work. Yesterday was day one and went well but 6 hours straight (few bathroom breaks) was a lot Of sitting that I’m not totally used to so I am glad for the yoga to off set what is going to be a lot of sitting this school year! Now it’s professional development for ten days before any remote instruction. I’ll have one student. Yay.
I usually drink my protein later around 930 or so but with the zoom I’m having it before. I turn off video and sound for most of it but there’s some I have to be visible for.
Baked chicken tacos for dinner tonight my family loves them so I’m happy to make it and use up the left over rotisserie chicken from last night.
Have a great day!!

Morning ladies! I just finished Cody’s 8am live ride and I’m waiting for his 8:45 80s ride to start. My work calendar is free today, so I decided to work out a little later than usual this morning.
Also, I still haven’t been on my laptop, but after I get off this ride I’ll add the people who asked to be added to the PM.

I was planning on being on the live ride (7 am here) but we lost power for over an hour last night so I didn’t get moving this morning. Getting kids settled and back to sleep plus the lack of a fan was rough. Going to do it on demand in a little while!

Good morning! Legs day today. I did a 25 minute barre class that snuck some abs in. It’s incredible how some of the movements are so small but sooo difficult, I was shaking by the end of some of the sections, lol. I also did a 20 minute lower body with Selena and a 10 minute glutes and legs with Matty (from Aug 3) which was all squats, so PSA if you hate squats don’t do that one! Food should be good if I can figure out a healthy lunch.

well I just made it absolutely rain on that new peloton clothing drop. My sister bought a bike and I had a referral so not sooooo painful for the wallet. But I jumped at my chance to try the Lululemon wunder unders. I am just hoping I chose the right size. Got a tank top and 2 outfits!

Just a long walk for me today. I did not sleep well last night and can’t psych myself up for anything more. The dog seemed to enjoy it.

Hello! Today is a running rest day and my September challenge called for 30 minutes of yoga, which I did. It’s my first time doing yoga on the peloton app and I liked it!
I’m going for a walk later today too.

Our pod friend took DD on a bike ride to pick up lunch from the elementary school, and then DD ate at their house, which gave me an hour yesterday to myself! I took my dog for a short walk, and then ate lunch in peace, and kept working!
Got up and ran a 5k this morning. I think it was my fastest run in the recent past, felt nice. Today is otherwise pretty crazy because our cleaning lady comes so we have to clear out of the house/office/classroom for a couple hours midday, and we all have meetings during that time.

4.5 mi for me this morning. I was supposed to have a 6PM meeting, but it’s been cancelled, so I might try to sneak in an extra couple miles. MH will be away for a few days, so so won’t be able to run then (or best case, I get in something short with P at the track), so I need to get in more miles while I can.

Love this!! When I posted I thought “jorkzy would approve!” Despite what diet culture tells us, active and healthy people come in all sizes! Once you see the diet messaging everywhere, it’s hard to unsee it.

I had a rough day yesterday, so I got my 3 miles in and then ate my feelings. I tracked it all, just to keep my streak up, but I didn't feel bad about it. I enjoyed my ice cream and it was a nice comfort after a long day.
I'm pretty pumped I am in a spot where I know I can enjoy food above my calorie range for a day, and not let it get me down or make me think I need to work it off. It was nice.

Today I plan on doing a 60 minute bootcamp, but I won't get to work out until 8pm so we shall see. If not, plan two is getting my steps in and doing a 20 minute upper body workout.

I did my second run of the week, which is my speed work day. I knocked out #2 (of 5) of Runkeeper’s Win the Long Run short fartlek workout. I did 2.24 miles in 29 minutes and my speed intervals were in the 10s and even a few 9s and this with the first 1/3 of my run going up a long, steadily inclining hill. Yes, I wanted to challenge myself and apparently mid-70s and 89% humidity wasn’t enough for me. It rained overnight and earlier this morning and turned outside into a steam room.
I did Selena’s 10 min full body stretch afterwards as 5 minutes wasn’t gonna cut it. Also, I was pleased to see that when doing the facedown reach back and grab the foot of your bent leg, I could do so - on both sides - with ease. Hooray for some flexibility!!!

I mentioned I did Chase’s punk rock one and walked/jogged/ran etc. in place but love that they are incorporating the bike now, too. I love mixing up cardio with strength as it makes the time go so much faster.

Man I am ready for this week to be over. LOL
I am about to head out for a lunch time run and then after work I am going to do my HIIT cycle class. Tomorrow I will do body pump and sat I have more cycling. I am just trying to get anything in when I can until we readjust to school and sports.
