August Recap: Workouts - Great Food - 80% Alcohol - umm... let's try again in September?
Sept Goals: Keep up with workouts (just started week 7 of a 12 week plan), so it will take me through Sept Alcohol - 0-1 per weekday. Food - Put down the ice cream!

I think I should be finishing BBM 5.0 this month, so I need to decide what to do next. I'm leaning towards doing 8.0 because that's the order the BBM threads from last year went and I like following along on those 😁

I’m just going to try to survive September. August did not go well and my mental health is very not so good. I’m going to make a simple plan and try to stick to it. Drink water, exercise 3x week and try not to stuff my face with junk. My husband said that my exercising is taking up too much time and I don’t pick good times for the family. I think I’m doing the best I can and think he’s being petty. This is the first time I’m hearing it and I always let him know my plans in advance so it has me in a funk. H and I used to have these fights on the regular. The only thing that fixed it is that he also started working out and suddenly it was fine since he was doing it too. I didn't think we were going to make it there for awhile... I understand what you're going through.

August was mostly getting my head in the right place. My maternity leave is over after this week so I didn’t want to make unrealistic goals. I also know that I need to set achievable goals for me or I’ll get discouraged and give up. I did rejoin WW as it seems to have the most flexibility for my needs right now, so we will see how that goes. I need to take small steps or they won’t stick, plus returning to work and navigating a bizarre school year I don’t want to put ti much pressure on myself.
So for me, my September goals are: - track everything in WW - figure out what kind of exercise I can fit in starting in October, besides walking - continue the walks with the boys 2-3x a week around the neighborhood (was easy now being on leave, and I want to work it in after work)

I deal with that with my husband. He even tried to say my getting up at 4:30 was working either; that the kids would wake up.
tough shit. it's taken me 4 years though to get to this point.
If you tell him ahead of time then he needs to get over it.
Perhaps suggesting that he takes an hour a day for himself will work (it did not with my h as he is lazy).

Is this kickboxing? I have taken a few body combat classes recently and omg my shoulders and arms after!! hurts so good!
boxing and lifting I believe. boxing and cardio as in hiit.
there is a band you use as well for abs and warm ups.
it's great. I completed it right after I stopped my mma classes.

August was not bad. My meet went well, but there is room to work on some things (which is what is happening now). Did well with no alcohol the two weeks leading up to the meet. Been a little shit show since then. Going to move the rest of the beer to the basement so I forget it's there.
My work is starting a fitness challenge next week. Its 3 or 5 days a week, and im at 4 so I will add a cardio day (yuck).

August Recap: 24/25 days with at least 30 minutes of movement 50.98 miles logged during running/walking sessions - does not include mileage if I went on just a walk with no running Eating wasn't the best
September Goals: 25 days with at least 30 minutes of targeted movement 50 miles run/walked Cut back on carbs and dairy (both make me bloated) and increase protein Purchase a treadmill - it has been getting too dark to run outside after putting the kids to bed

I need to get some heavier weights, but I am cheap and keep waiting to find some at Goodwill, I don't know how long until I break. I also know they are hard to come by right now anyway, but they are so expensive!

Hello! August was okay- I lost the few lbs I gained March-July but I still have lots more to go. My goals for this month are to continue limiting alcohol (I haven’t had a drink in 3 weeks!), workout 5 days a week with at least 2 strength workouts, and track everything in MyFitnessPal.

I don’t remember my August goals but they were pretty much sidelined with illness (colds and migraines) so it doesn’t matter.
My basement is out of commission right now as we wait for some repairs so the gym stuff is spread out throughout the house and not usable. So I guess I’ll keep working on just lifestyle stuff like taking the stairs at work (5th floor of a hospital but elevators creep me out right now) and walks with the puppy and kids. 🤷♀️
Food-wise I’d like to work on meal planning ahead of time as we get back into the swing of school and homework etc.

[quote author=" August Blooms" source="/post/2687584/thread" timestamp="1598978218"nk. Ugh that stinks. I’m sorry you’ve not been well and extra sorry your h isn’t being supportive of your exercise plans. Is there a way to compromise and adjust the times or would he complain no matter what? I hope he settles down and gives you room to take care of yourself.[/quote] We have been fighting a lot lately and I think it was just a petty low blow. It’s the only thing I do for myself outside of work, I don’t have a social life so it’s not like I’m taking a ton of time away from the family.

This is an ongoing issue with us, part of the bigger issues going on. If I’m home I workout while he is a work or in the evenings, if we are both home and it’s the weekend I do it in the mornings before we get going for the day but I tell him what I’m doing and for how long and make sure it’s ok. Occasionally I will spend 20-30 minutes doing a workout while he is making a meal for us or getting the kids to bed. So I’m not talking about 1.5 hours at the gym more like sneaking down to the basement during a short window of time.
So now he’s changing his tune and saying that it’s not actually ok with him and he’s just saying it is to keep the peace. Meanwhile I’m over here saying please for the love of everything go find a hobby or do something for yourself that isn’t sitting on the couch! And he still won’t 🙄
This just hurts a lot since one of my goals was a triathlon and all this time he was supportive and I guess he really wasn’t.
End rant. Thanks for listening and the support. My marriage sucks now and this is just a symptom.

Lol I am the opposite. I will lunge til the day is done but I haaaate deadlifts. I try so hard to do them right but I feel like I always fuck up my back. Even after physical therapy and people trying to show me how to make sure to do it right. My body just, like, can't for some reason. Bringing this over from the old thread to say this is exactly how I feel about lunges. Like my body resists This is me with front squats. I hate them so much.

Also, I had planned to follow YWA's September calendar but the theme and practices listed don't speak to me. I really need to get back into yoga in September, so I guess I'm going to check out the yoga on Peloton app. Since I'm paying for it already. Anyone have any recommendations for that?? All the yoga has been great, but I particularly enjoy Chelsea’s classes. Her power yoga is killer, and I love her flows as well.

August Blooms, sending hugs. Again. I went thru this exact hell with h. Keep doing your thing. There is nothing wrong with carving out time to take care of yourself or to do what makes you happy.

If anyone needs a quick lunch idea, the frozen Cod provencale with rice and ratatouille is delicious. I’m trying not to lick the container...

Oh one of my September goals will be to track my water again, and pay more attention on the weekends. When I’m at work, I do a decent job hydrating. When I’m home, I suck at it.

August Blooms I have a similar issue going on with my H, and after a year it’s finally gotten better. I finally just told him that I’m going to meet my goals with or without him, so he can support me or be unhappy 24/7. We now eat separately except for our date nights, and we take turns doing bed and bath time for the kids. For us, it’s his issue and not mine. He’s not happy with his own health, and he feels intimidated by me taking control of mine. I realized I can’t make him want more, so I don’t say anything to him. Surprisingly enough, he woke up at 4 yesterday and went for a 3 mile walk. I hope things get better for you.

I'm just so pissed off for you, August Blooms. Him not being okay with you taking a measly 20-30 minutes out of the 1,440 minutes in a day to do something for yourself is some serious bullshit.

Today I did Speed 4.0 Food was good B: frittata L: taco salad D: chicken stir fry S: nectarine, premier protein shake and some veggies and hummus
I bought those Spanx faux leather leggings so I guess my September goal is to get myself to a place where I feel comfortable wearing them in public this fall. 😀

My H occasionally throws my workouts back at me too August Blooms. Except he also likes to run and workout, but the difference for us is when shit gets hard it's the first thing he'll drop whereas I will never not make the time or effort because I need workouts in order to stay sane. And he will get resentful during those times. And I always tell him, "dude, just go for a fucking a run then, I don't care and I will do whatever needs to be done so you can have that time" and it's always met with eye rolls and what have you. He also joined a gold league this year and was gone every Wednesday for 2.5 months for five hours in the evening, so I told him he doesn't get to say boo anymore about it. It sounds like you're doing the right things; doing it during times that interrupt the least amount of family time, shorter workouts, at home, telling him your time frame. You keep doing that and doing you. Either he'll support you or not, unfortunately. But you need it and that's important. Do not feel bad 💜

I really like Aditi and Chelsea Jackson Roberts. Kristin seems to have the most classes, and I like Ross when I need a push. My 6 year old liked the family yoga, too. My four year old has started asking for Cosmic Kids — “yoga with Jaime” — a few times a week so I’m going to check out the family yoga for sure. Thanks again!!
