Also, I had planned to follow YWA's September calendar but the theme and practices listed don't speak to me. I really need to get back into yoga in September, so I guess I'm going to check out the yoga on Peloton app. Since I'm paying for it already. Anyone have any recommendations for that??

This month is going to be so busy that while I would love to lose I am at the point where I will just be happy to continue my water intake and make good decisions while running everywhere.
Meal prepping needs to be my friend

I’m just in disbelief that it’s another new month. I’m excited at the structure this month will bring. DD is going to K, DS is going back to daycare, and I’m going back to work full time (3 12s). For the first time in my working life I’m going to have a set schedule (mon, wed, fri). I’m so pumped for some routine. I think it will be so helpful in meal and workout planning.
I’ve been really focusing on fiber and gut health so I will be continuing with that. Continuing to decrease processed foods and increase whole foods in my diet.
In terms of fitness, I’d like to keep focusing on consistency and adding more strength.

Lol I am the opposite. I will lunge til the day is done but I haaaate deadlifts. I try so hard to do them right but I feel like I always fuck up my back. Even after physical therapy and people trying to show me how to make sure to do it right. My body just, like, can't for some reason. Bringing this over from the old thread to say this is exactly how I feel about lunges. Like my body resists Ditto here - love deadlifts and could do them all day. Lunges? UUUGGGHHH!

August went great for me! I finally feel like I’m exercising regularly for the first time since March, and I’ve got lots of energy and I’m generally happier and less stressed. I’m annoyed that it took becoming a Peloton app junkie to get here but I also really love the workouts.
I ran 40 miles in August, I’d like to exceed 50 this month. And drink more water, too.

Pushups or pull- ups on the other hand, my body says no thank you.

August was ok. I got off schedule and didn’t do my workouts in the morning a lot of times so I felt like I was chasing my exercise goals all day, but they mostly got done. September will hopefully be better- similar goals, keep up with the veggies and protein, and just keep moving.

I did a 30 minute fartlek run today and it was actually fun. I’m really enjoying my running playlists lately- I added a bunch of 90’s music from the 90’s music thread and have been rocking out. Apparently 90’s Sally likes a lot of dance music 🤷♀️. Usual Peloton warm- up and post- run stretching. My legs seem to be ok after my long run on Sunday, so yay!

August went pretty well for me.
I'm on a 19-week Peloton streak, 60+ day Peloton streak, and earned Gold for the August Activity Challenge and August Running Challenge.
I started a half program, was just shy of 30 miles run last month (29.6), and started tracking and drinking water the final week, which allowed me to drop the 4 lbs I gained + 2 more to take me to the lowest weight this year and 14 lbs down from January 1st.
My September goals:
- Get in 5 workouts/week, including my 3 half training runs/week + 2 active recovery days - Keep tracking food - Keep drinking more water, even if I don't hit my 75 ounces goal, I want to minimize non-water beverages as much as possible - Take evening walks with MH 5 days/week

Bringing over from the August thread because duh, new month!
I knocked out Olivia's 30-min Pop Fun Run (from 11/7/19) which was more like Wilpers' typical fun runs (meaning more run than fun), but in a deceptively sweet package. But I pushed myself a little bit (but not too crazy as speedy work is Thursday) and got in 2.32 miles. It is low 70s but 92% humidity and foggy (a fog of humidity, you might say) so I'm definitely a sweaty beast.
I walked a few minutes to warm up as I wasn't feeling a stretch beforehand and did Bec's 5-min Legs & Glutes stretch after.
I'll plan to walk with MH after sunset again tonight. It's a nice way to decompress and it gets him moving more.
Have a good day all!

Last week was vacation for dh so we did a 3 hour hike Monday nothing Tuesday Wednesday Thursday then another different three hour hike Friday. Eating was pretty good considering vacation.
Rested Saturday then yoga together Sunday, I did it alone yesterday and this morning we did it together again so I think we are back on track after vacation.
I had originally wanted 64oz as a min of water but in my tracking I see I’ve not gone below 80oz in a few weeks so that’s my new min.
The battery in my scale died which is great because I get obsessive and crazy with numbers but I had taken pics on 8/1 when I started then I took some last week and I can see a difference that I may not have noticed on the scale so I’m happy with that.

I took a break from posting here most of the summer but would pop in here every now and then to see how you were all doing. Congrats on everyone's progresses. I was feeling in a little bit of a rut myself; I had went back to the gym in June post covid but then we had a large outbreak in our small city so I pulled back from the gym again. Home workouts and running were ok and kept me going throughout the summer but it's just not the same for me as the community and motivation that I get from the gym workouts. Food indulgences and alcohol over the summer were for sure a thing but I seemed to have balanced those well...I don't weigh myself but the dress I use as my gauge is only the tiniest big snug at the chest this morning so I am pleased.
I am happy to use September as a fresh start. I am back in the gym and am feeling really motivated to dial in my food to see how far I can get with my fitness. I am hoping to keep posting regularly here to keep up that motivation.

I’m just going to try to survive September. August did not go well and my mental health is very not so good. I’m going to make a simple plan and try to stick to it. Drink water, exercise 3x week and try not to stuff my face with junk.
My husband said that my exercising is taking up too much time and I don’t pick good times for the family. I think I’m doing the best I can and think he’s being petty. This is the first time I’m hearing it and I always let him know my plans in advance so it has me in a funk.

Wow, September, where did the summer go? I am so ready for the humidity to break for good and for cooler temps. It has been especially humid here lately and it makes outdoor activities no fun.
I had a great month of workouts in August, but food was crap. Same story, different month. After reading the positive reviews from some of you about Noom, I decided to give it a go. I kind of hate the food log, but maybe I'll get used to it with time. It just seems really clunky compared to MFP or even WW. I do like the daily lessons, though, and that is something I need right now.
September goals: -continue with my same workout plan: strength 3-4x a week and Peloton for cardio. Add in regular outdoor walks when the weather gets nicer -track every day in Noom -complete all of the Noom lessons -cut way way back on the junky treats and sugar I have been eating. It's killing my progress and also making me feel sluggish
My ultimate goal that I hope to accomplish by the beginning of 2021 is to get back to a comfortable weight and then switch over to more of an intuitive eating plan.

NSV: last night I had weighed out a portion of jelly beans, and after I had eaten a bit I realized I didn't feel like eating the rest and I just stopped. It's pretty unlike me to not eat all the sweets in front of me, so I was happy.

Today my ass hurts and my program had several sets “to failure” today so my arms are again useless. For once I’m looking forward to the cardio break tomorrow. But, I put on jeans last night and didn’t struggle to button them, so at least it’s working. Still working on those food choices though....

[quote author=" August Blooms" source="/post/2687584/thread" timestamp="1598978218"nk. [/quote] Ugh that stinks. I’m sorry you’ve not been well and extra sorry your h isn’t being supportive of your exercise plans. Is there a way to compromise and adjust the times or would he complain no matter what? I hope he settles down and gives you room to take care of yourself.

Happy September! I am so ready for this month. I’m back at school today for PD for the new school year and I am just so happy. I’m out walking right now, I miss my solo lunch walks!Once my own kids are back to school/daycare all will be right in my world.
I had a good summer, lost 5 lbs since end of June while attempting to maintain and fully transitioned to a smaller size in shirts and pants. I was very active too with dedicated exercise and activities with my kids and wore shorts and bathing suits confidently for the first time in almost 2 decades.
September is always nuts with back to school (and even more so this year) but here are my goals: -Finally break into the 170s (I’m a fraction of a pound away) -walk at least 3x week at school -exercise an additional 5x week -hit 200 Peloton rides (hopefully this Saturday!)

Taking care of yourself is synonymous with taking care of your family. When a plane goes down you put the mask on first, and all that.
Your H needs to realize this. I am not piling on at all here, but I hope you can have that talk with him.
For example, now that school and sports are back, my H has to wake up at 6am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and get the older kid up for school, because I am going to be at the gym those mornings and he has wholeheartedly agreed to do this, because I need that hour to work on myself those mornings. I take over dinner those nights so that he can bike and run during that time. Maybe ask if you can look at your schedule and see if there is a give and take somewhere for y'all.
But both you and your H should happily support self work. Approach it from that way and see how the convo goes.
