brux I think both Hydrow and Peloton have a 30 day trial/return policy so if you have buyer’s remorse, you could always return. OR you could get both, try them, and return one. Except, if you’re like me, you’d then end up with both the bike and Hydrow because you can’t get it together to return.

I did pitch H on my Tonal + Rower plan over margaritas on Friday and he laughed at me but he didn’t say no. Then it sounds like a yes to me!

Now that I've heard of the Tonal, it's all I want in my life.

I was just reading through the confirmation email, and noticed that my connected experience bundle will be here between the 20-27, the actual rower isn't estimated to be delivered until the middle of September. whomp whomp

Over lunch, I went to a Peloton store to see the bike and the tread.
That tread is really cool. I brought along a measuring tape like a complete weirdo, so picture me in grubby work-from-home clothes and uncombed hair, with a mask on, crawling on the floor to measure dimensions.
I think there's a spot in our house for the tread, but it's not ideal from a use-of-room-for-other-purposes standpoint. Pros and cons to weigh for sure.
I did learn that the Tread can mirror its screen onto a TV, which was good news because I could us the family room's tv to do the floor workouts and then back to the tread screen for that stuff.

There's a whole bunch of complaints in the Peloton website about the tread being shitty quality and the sales person at the store recommended paying for the extended warranty on the tread, but said it's not needed for the bike.
Must also look more into that.

Must also look more into that. I think you should join a Peloton group for that kind of feedback. The people who are going to websites to complain are usually not the people thrilled with the product. And you have seen how high maintenance and ridiculous the Peloton people are.

I haven’t heard of the tread being shitty quality. I have heard that if you do happen to have an issue it can be a nightmare. Agree with Cher to checkout Facebook groups. I also recommend checking out Reddit.

brux were you able to check out the bike? Did you have any thoughts on that? i saw the bike and the tread. I liked the bike. I just can’t be sure that I am a spin person. I really hated it when I’ve done it in the past and I know I like things like walking on a tread and rowing more. But I’m really drawn to the coaching and music and community of peloton.

I’m currently researching “peloton tread for less.”
I’m going to try to see some Nordic track machines in person next. They have an incline trainer that I guess is a tread that can decline 6% and incline 40%. 40%!
They have the classes similar to peloton. I need to go back and search this thread for people with Nordictrack experience.

When I told H I wanted to do the Peloton app for workouts he reminded me that our Nordic track has the same thing. It’s called iFit and you just have to pay for the subscription. So I guess I will start there. have you tried the IFit subscription yet?

Chose Nordic over peloton simply because Nordic was running a great special and got the top of the line bike for $1000 less.

I like the classes. Lots and lots of options. I like the bike to get in a quick calorie blast workout in and they have some rides that are 20 minutes long that kick my butt. You can do longer endurance on trails all over the world that are challenging to spin class and total body that incorporates hand weights and mat work. Ifit offers all kinds of workouts outside of the bike. The thing I like about peloton is the social aspect of following friends and live classes. For me that helps to keep me accountable but I have become more disciplined that it’s not a huge downer.

No. I tried to sign up but it was going to make me pay for a whole year so I decided I needed to think about it and also probably cancel something else. Lol. I do love my Nordic track treadmill though. I don’t know about those percentages you said but mine does decline (is that the word?) and it seems like it inclines vertical. Lol. It goes to 15. The only thing I read about using the Peleton app for other treads is that the teachers will incline and it’s so fast and it’s not as fast on other machines.

Not sure if anyone mentioned Bowflex, but I know a couple people who have their treadmill and they love it.

brux, are you motivated by competition and working out with others? If so, then I would really recommend getting a decent treadmill, but using Peloton with it instead of the iFit. I have a norditrack that does not have a screen built in (so much cheaper than those that do) and it works great. It can also be folded up to save space. Peloton has such a big community and wide variety of classes and if you're just getting the app subscription it's pretty cheap. Plus, you'd get to work out with all of us HIH Peloton fanatics You can cast the workout to a TV via apple TV or watch on a phone/iPad when working out. I do agree that the Peloton tread must incline faster than other treadmills because I notice that when I do runs/walking classes using my norditrack. However, it's rarely a big issue.

My past tells me that I am only consistent with workouts when I'm 1:1 with a trainer or in a group class where I feel challenged and connected to the trainer or other participants. That's what is really appealing about Peloton products to me. In the spot where I think I would put a treadmill, it would have to be an integrated screen or an ipad (rather than a TV) becuase I'll be wedged into a corner, staring at a wall. I was googling "who makes the biggest tablet" so I could try to replicate the huge peloton screen.

Those incline trainers look so intense. I was just browsing some fitness equipment sites. A 10% incline feels like hell, I can't imagine going up to 40%! I would have an ass of steel though.

One glimmer of hope is that when I told H about the Peloton tread, he said "well you probably can't get that AND something else...well, not that I agreed to getting two things, but still..."

brux I never took a spinning class before I got my Peloton bike, and I really do enjoy the classes. You can always start with shorter ones to get into it. You'd be surprised just how quickly you start to crave exercise, which are words I thought I'd never type lol. I love the community aspect of it, the music, the high fives and the motivation from the instructor.
